Battlestar Galactica Discussion IV with Blood And Chrome
big F replied to 505thAirborne's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
They should do what they did for Halo -- Re-do the original in stunning 360 graphics and the newer havok engine. Admittedly it's esier with CGI characters as they dont age in the same way as the BSG original series cast has. New CGI space scenes would help though, although no ammount of CGI would ever get rid of the cheese factor- 696 replies

Transformers: Age of Extinction - in theaters June 27, 2014
big F replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
"Mark is awesome. We had a blast working on "Pain and Gain" and I’m so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers’ legacy," said Bay. Is it just me or does he really talk like an 80's 5 year old ? Also is Bay admitting that the franchise needs CPR ?- 950 replies

Battlestar Galactica Discussion IV with Blood And Chrome
big F replied to 505thAirborne's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
This just warmed my heart on a Cold day. I hope to see this real soon, though it 'll probably end up on some pay per view channel over here that Ican't / dont get and will have to torrent or wait for a Blu-Ray release, but looks good any how. Enough classic toasters and tech in there to look good and still kick it to the old series as well as the reimage. Does that look like a Sharon/Boomer to you ? Could this be a point where the original was "scanned" to make the Skin Jobs ?- 696 replies

Owning Hasbro, well they are going after all the trump cards there then. Next step would be one of the larger anime houses or maybe Matel or Takara. Monopoly ??? no wait Hasbro own that

Now I have one of the Thrawn books (the second one) and although I never read it, he does come off as a bit of a bad guy you 'd love in the bits I Skipped through, but the thing that flys in the face of the whole Empire thing, is that out side of the EU ALL the screen time bad guys are Human. Its the whole undertones of supremacy of humans and the almost Nazi like nods of the empire, like why would the Humans only club have a blue guy in charge ? That said if they do use any of the Thrawn stuff it would be good material. Look on the bright side now Disney owns it it will mean next time my local supermarket has a buy on get on free on Disney Blurays It'll be Starwars BluRays for me

so... a subbed version of the DYRL 30th anniversary BR?
big F replied to Skull Leader's topic in Movies and TV Series
What's worse about subbed versions is when you know that what they said is not what is written at the bottom of the screen. I have two versions on DVD of DYRL and both have vastly different subs. Is it even possible to change the Subs on a blueray ? There is a guide here on MW on how to do it to the DVD version, I must get round to it one day. The holly grail is a subbed and English voiced version. But that's never gonna happen officially. -
Well at least it puts to bed the 20 year discussion on when episodes 7,8 and 9 will be coming out, all we need is a script now. I'm sure that Disney knows what they have got; they didn’t mess up the Startours thing and the bus load of franchised merchandise they already sell. They do have script writers on board and as Lucasarts and Pixar have already worked together, and most films nowadays use Skywalker sound etc. at least we know they can work together. Maybe Disney will let 20th distribute it just for continuity’s sake, but its not like the Murdoch's need the cash between them, Disney and AOL they own pretty much all of the media. I hope if they do follow on from Episode 6 they use the existing actors if needed in the story, we dont need Brad Pitt being Han Solo and Matt Damon being Luke Skywalker.

Scale was a limiting factor on the PSP due to memory and processing power. The PS3 should not be so limited, I would be expecting to see an SDF at proper scale. On the PSP a fly by in Gerwalk mode should take more than a few seconds but doesnt. Hopefully this will be better scaled on the PS3. The Gundam Battle Engine is the playstation equalent of the havoc engine in that it is scalable and versatile. Can't help thinking that if it was on the PC it would be modded in the same way as the Crysis engine or Halflife or even Quake.

I'll be happy if I can play it on my 42" LCD and if it supports 3D I will be even more pleased. My PS3 needs some Macross in its life. My PSP and PS2 get all that fun.

Transformers: Age of Extinction - in theaters June 27, 2014
big F replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well with the exception of Jayce and Victor and Hugo (only because I never saw them, not sure why) they are very UK market. Mask was massive and MLP is still a hot subject here see them at car boot sales ( like garage sales but in car parks or fields) all the time and the often command good prices. As for Danger Mouse he is just a British Icon. If they re did it it would undoubtedly be excellent. I have Ulysses 31 on DVD French anime at its finest.- 950 replies

Transformers: Age of Extinction - in theaters June 27, 2014
big F replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I vote for insecticons come along and confess to using a clone beam and Megatron et-al are all clones. Ta - Da real ones turn up and continue where clones left off, meanwhile clones remains have been jetisoned into space and Unicron picks em up as in 1986 and makes Galvatron, who then goes on to own Cybertron and then comes to Earth after The Autobots kill Megatron again to mix it up. Jazz is also back after returning from a covert mission (afterall he's supposed to be into espionage etc), his clone bought the farm in the first film. More Cybertron time and less Squishies. I know this is as likely as real Transformers turning up. more likely to see My Little Ponies using magic rainbow beams to bring back all the dead TF's. As Hasbro have posted a slight loss this last Q I bet they are looking at more posible film tie ins, we've had GI Joe, Transformers, and Battleship, how about Furbies, My Little Ponies or Visonaries.- 950 replies

Yeah you need to really mod the area where they fit to the wrist area, as the TF's are very different. Obviously they are for display only as they wont transform with them. I had thought of trying to make something that does fold up, but it is quite a fiddle and something to add to my list of as yet uncompleted projects which is already quite vast.
-
Anyone still pondering this purchase rest assured the quality is spot on. An added bonus is they fit, with a minor bit of modding to TF's of the 1/24 scale ranges like Binaltech and Alternators.

Didnt know that, thanks makes sense now, some old tv programes I have seen re run recently must also have used the same method as they have similar credits and creditless issues. I always just put it down to cheap production values and T.V series values.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3x3cNFVhNj0 This tune always springs to mind when ever the conversation turns to how crap televisual media has become. Ironically the company who I used to work for and is usually bashed for its media doesnt own SyFy/SciFi network.- 696 replies

Battlestar Galactica Discussion IV with Blood And Chrome
big F replied to 505thAirborne's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
They sound like the people from The Only Way Is Essex, a suposed fly on the wall documentry which is about as fly on the wall as Starwars or Lord of the Rings. It pandas to the morron masses who for the most part think that Essex is actualy like that, granted that there are a few people like that but on the whole they are far from it. It has its boat load of cast who are now famous for being famous, and really really shouldnt be. Add to that several spin off clones on other channels. T.V is going down hill. Oxygen theives, you got to hate em!- 696 replies

I got all excited and now Im just sad, those dyslexic idiots from SciFi I refuse to use the new name, never seem to get it right. The U.K version is probably just as bad as the U.S channel constant re-re-re runs of Stargate in all its forms, disjointed episodes from Star Trek and crap like Charmmed. Get with the programe and show people what they actually want to see, i.e listen to the viewers.- 696 replies

Ditto!! I bought a DVD box set of the Firefly series even though I knew it was unfinished, never bother normally. If the networks kill it I dont buy it. There are far far worse series's on T.V and DVD etc that should never have made it past episode 3, some of them are into multi series in length, some of them started great and now are just dead Donkeys being flogged by T.V exects. Shoulda finished it. IMO
