There are so many to choose from. Just read a few reviews and what other MW users say and go for what the most expensive you can afford. Generally with airbrushes Cheap = rubish. By cheap I mean anything that costs you less than $30

I like what I see. Great work. !! Keep it up

Great work again !! Its a shame that you cant get Krylon in the U.K. Everyone who uses it raves about how good it is.

Damm You made me want to do a T.V max. Shame on you. Great work! Rattlecan jobs can sometimes come out really well.

In all reality you are probably better off getting the GBP before the VF0 as there is more chance of you getting a VF0 later on as It has only just been released. Yamato will wan ttot get good milage from that set of molds, expect some reissues and variants, this sort of thing will help you with future availability. Not sure If they are making the GBP at the moment but I do still see new ones in the shops. I admit I cant tell if they are new stock or stock thats been in the stockroom for ages. Thats not to say that the VF0 is not worth the buy. I think having seen them in the Flesh (well plastic and metal) they are definately a must for your purchase list.

Well a cruel twist of fate (my cousin from OZ comming over to stay) has meant that my planned Run to the Sun trip is now cancelled. So I think Im going to go. Anyone here want to meet up or is anyone going ?? Post or PM please.

I think the only reason that I`d want Bandai to release more Chunkies is for models that eaither have never been done or for ones such as the GBP or Super O or Elint, these are super rare now in orginal 80`s form and command very high prices. Im not saying they should do a straight recast of the old stuff as that would cheapen all the real 80`s ones, and plenty of people would be pissed about that. What they should do is:- New style packaging matching or complementing the other rereleases, and mix it up a bit by subtle updates. e.g the GBP could have openable missile pods a`la Yamato 1/60 and 1/48, that sort of thing. Of cause if Yamato decided to do the Elint and Super O in 1/48 then that would be a different thing.

Well with the Myersjessee seal of approval how can we go wrong.

It always amazes me how you can buy a $5 bootleg of standard VF1 that sometimes even comes with some of the FP armor. How come the bootlegers arent doing GBP or Elint or Super O, surely these guys have people who look at Ebay and see how much they go for. They obviously are not bothered about copyright issues. Come on booters get cracking. If i can buy $2 boots of obscure hardly known Transformers surely you can do a few GBP`s and Super O`s. The recasts are great (I have some) but I cant help felling that Bandai stopped bothering when the saw Yamato`s efforts. Ive seen reisues selling retail in the U.K for £70 ($130ish) come on Bandai theres room for you.

Looking good. I may have to do the nuts in the legs thing, as they are a bit fall over happy.

Welcome to Macross World If BanDai reissued the Strike, Elint and Super O they would crack the world open as far as the recast guys are concerned. At the moment If you want one of these un released ones the recasters are your only choice, unless you have cash and go old school.

Saw the movies for this played on the large video screens outside Yodabashi Camera in Shinjuku while I was there. Everytime I walked past (must of been 100`s of times) I had to stop to watch it just for the VF. It was the same last year for Super Robotwars. MMMMMMM!! may just have to get a PS2 just for this and SDF Macross.

I found that the overall detail is not bad for something that it firstly a toy and secondly is smallish They are certainly better detailed than the 1/55`s are and the functionality of the missle pods is great, the only problems I have found are the Groin/nosecone covers dont stay on ( simple additon of Invisitape stops that ) and the weight makes posing it a bit more difficult due to the (unplayed with ) looseness of the hips. Overall slap on a bit of pannellines and general wear and tear paint etc and its a great little addition to your 1/60 collection. The inportant thing to remember is that it is a toy and as such a certain ammount of detain has to be lost to provide functionallity and keep costs down. If you want anime accuracy then your only real choice is model kits. The 1/48`s are a whole better animal. They are more detailed and mostly stay together more redily than their smaller bretherin. The only problem I have with them is that due to size I cant have many as storage and display is a problem. I only wish the 1/48 range was as prolific as the 1/60 range, as Im sure the rest of MW do too.

Can I asume that the fixing tape is there so you can remove the skirt to re-do it or cast it separately. If this is the case then I wonder why I didnt use that method instead of spending hours removing the filler that I messed up.

I think you have to admire someone who builds a kit all nice and straight and then covers it in bashes and scrapes and makes it look all beat up. Makes a change from the legions of just rolled off the assembly line look that you see so often.
