  1. Really?? I thought the VF-1 leg transformation sequence was identical to the one we see in M0, when Roy's 0S first transforms (i.e., super-thin magically telecoping swing bars that disappear under the cockpit)?
  2. If they can be faithful to lineart in fighter mode, and not make the battroid look like a clusterf*** (IMHO) like this, then by all means YES!
  3. Well, just keep the chin down and the chest plate unlocked, and the effect will hopefully me minimal
  4. Everything about the 1/60 looks better than the 1/48, except the high-sitting head in battroid (I assume to accomodate the longer cockpit for 2-seater), and the slightly shorter nose in fighter. I love the double-jointed elbows--- we will finally be able to get that proper end-of-DYRL Hikaru battroid pose
  5. Since the numbers are tampo printed, they should inlcude extra right wings and forward fuselage sectiosn too ... they're removeable anyways, right?
  6. Early release of VF-1D = good Early release of Angle Birds = blechh!
  7. Looks to be the same ball joint/shoulder assembly as the VF-0, except without the scary modular shoulder armor design. I think this is necessary to accomodate the updated swingbar and to eliminate the low-hanging arms in fighter mode.
  8. Is that irridescent coating on the canopy stock, or did this guy customize it???
  9. I gotta say, I'm not the biggest fan of the M+ OVA or valk designs, but this one looks very good. Also, our MW members really know how to take a good photos. The battroid mode photos look way better that the Yamato promo shots.

    Max VF-1S

No worries, it's just weird to see my very first 1/48 on someone's else's desk (for the second time) .

    Max VF-1S

Hey, I made that one ... and i did it the hard way (painting up a Roy 1S)
  12. I think what you see in the pic is all Tampo... I think we can also expect some rubber vernier thruster plugs for those exposed screws inside the legs.
  13. Heh, I wish I felt the same as you, then I wouldn't have to drop more $$ to get the 1/60. Honestly, I still think the 1/48 still rulz for fighter mode, so my 1/60 will be dedicated gerwalk or battroid.
  14. Hey look, the left arm fastpack has the notch for the gunpod, and screws on the inside Looking good!
  15. I imagine the kite on the side of the cockpit is one of the toughest thing to Tampo. If they do that, I'm sure the heatshield would be Tampo'd as well, as they've done on everything since the 1/48.
  16. I'd think not, if you look at the side-view curvature of the nose area behind the radome, there's really no way to accomodate a longer radome without looking discontinuous. Honestly, the more I stare at the fighter mode, the nose really isn't THAT much shorter proportionally than the 1/48. It's the bigger re-shaped intakes that give the overall illusion of shortness/stubbiness. It's the price we pay to eliminate the low-hanging shoulder syndrome, I guess.
  17. Was that when Suncoast or Gamestop was clearing out their stock? Should have grabbed one for custom fodder when i had the chance.
  18. I think the Toynami Masterpiece has the correct slotted exhausts... unfortunately they come with the rest of the "veritech"
  19. Well, as long as you don't sprain a thumb handling said valk/breast, size rulz over scale...
  20. I agree - I've lived with the wide 1/48 canopy so long, I can live with the same on the 1/60. I loving the 1/60 battroid mode too much to let this one pass. I'll still buy at least 2 or 3 .
  21. Bulging along the sides is ok for realism, but the overall width of the 1/48 (and now 1/60) canopy is far bigger compared to fighters of the same size (e.g., F-16). Compare the 1/48 to an F-14, F-16, F-15, or even F/A-18 model - the canopy looks downright toylike.
  22. Ignoring the linkup fiasco... Does the Legioss fighter still have those ugly sprawled out legs??? Dear lord, I'd take TF jet kibble over this monstrosity...
  23. I doubt it - the head doesn't recess in fighter mode anymore than the 1/48. I'm okay with the bigger intakes, even if they are a bit retcon (they are almost identical to the zero's). Makes the plane look less sleek, but worth it to hide those shoulders. I am dissapointed that they didn't narrow the canopy a bit, to look more like the Hase 1/72 model. That feature on the 1/48 bugs me more than the drooping shoulders in fighter mode. I noticed the skinnier legs and wider backpack (to facilitate the bigger arms I presume), somehow make the top view a bit less accurate - can someone post a comparison shot of the 1/60 magazine fighter top/isometric pic, with a 1/48 and lineart shot?
