But.... Max doesn't NEED the GBP-1 . Looking good, nonetheless. -
This is awsome, Kurt. Ever think of adding a HUD to the cockpit, since it's a TV valk?

No missiles or spring-loaded launchers on the Matchbox version. I don't even remember the set having a sword or shield

Not to change Voltron dialogue... Any general consensus on which Alpha would have the best chance of having fewer QC issues - later production Scott, or Lancer? More interested in getting the blue, but not if I'm guaranteed to get a turd. Ok, back to Voltron...

Thanks, now I need to bust out the blue paint. Anyone want to photoshop this picture for me? And while yer at it, fix the red on the leg fin on the screen shot.

Why all this talk about IF it's gonna be $150? Hasn't it been on preorder at several places at $150+ already, or are they gonna adjust the price when it is released? I think it's a good looking toy, but agree that I'd only lay down that much cash if I was a big Mac0 fan or wanted to complete a Focker shrine - and even if I was, I'd appreciate a toy closer to line art. I agree jenius! If this puppy is close to $150 I will be seriously irked. I agree that there is no real attachment to this particular mecha, even Roys. I have complete disillusionment for Yamatos pricing model AND their idiotic use of packing! 359282

Well, the 1/60 UUM-7 pods fit the 1/48, but a bit too small. At least full range of arm motion is recovered
-
Can you give us the breed of dog and brand of puppy food for that color match?
-
358973 not really, here are pictures of an f-22 and an su-27, and as you can tell on the SU-27, the nose and the landing gear is very similar to the sv-51 while the nose on the vf-0s has similarities with the f-22. If you have your macross zero dvd box, there's a picture of the vf-0s a front shot and you can see that it looks like the f-22. 359018 You're right, I forgot about that DVD cover. Still, I get a definite hornet vibe from the SV-51, and a flanker vibe from the VF-0. Safe to say both Mac0 fighters pulled elements from more than 1 real-life fighters. Just doing my part keep thread annoyingly alive with no new VF-0 pics.
-
Funny, I thought the overall profile of the VF-0S was more inspired by the Su-27 (sans swing wings), while the SV-51 was more like an F/A-18. The stealth features of both mask the similarities. If Yamato makes only 2 M0 mecha, I'd think it would be the zero and the SV-51, assuming the SV-51 can be made without being uber-fragile. I'm not sure if it's really that easy to adapt the VF-0S mold to make a -0D.

I think you can use whatever number you like, since they never showed anything but a 1J with No. 1 (can't recall, but the one scene in DYRL was also a 1J with No. 1). Wasn't there only one GBP armor unit early in the TV series, which Hicker-oo promptly got shot up and had to jettison because he was to busy perving to Minmay? I assume they made a bunch more of these with various numbers for final battle with the Bodol fleet. I don't think there's a correlation with low numbers going to high-ranking officers, since most of them were flying circles around the enemy with their super packs, blowing away everything.

I haven't compared side by side, but plain old Testor's light tan might be a good enough match, if you're doing a small detailed part like a head. Might be worth a few bucks just to test out. Hopefully, someone who has done a color match will chime in.

I'm starting to think humidity/heat are the culprits for yamato plastic yellowing? If it was due to user handling, the yellowing wouldn't be so uniform. I compared my 1/48 to another from an owner in TX - his was uniformly aged, but not due to smoke. Mine, kept in cool cabinet in northern CA, is still bone white.

Takatoy stickers... they are the next best thing to waterslide, and you can still abuse your valk like a toy. Leaving your valk naked really doesn't do it justice. Using custom stickers are the way to go, you can always peel them off and still have the orginal sticker sheet intact. -

That low-vis group shot is... Wicked! Great perspective. I'm still working on my photography skills . Here's Roy again showing off his new hands, this time with fastpacks. I need better lighting so I can turn off the flash to avoid "deer in the headlight" effect. -
For all you non-modelers... Flat black Testor's paint pen and Takatoy stickers - no more crooked skulls! Just wanted to encourage use of those extra skulls on the Takatoy sheet. Can't tell from the pics, but the outline and detail of the skulls are much crisper and defined than the Tampo skulls. Can't tell they're stickers until you're about a foot away.

All the yellowed Yamatos I've seen seem to be pretty uniform in color change (for the plastic parts), vs. what you see with old Bandais. Does this imply reaction with impurities in the air, vs. UV degradation? Either way, uniform yellowing doesn't bother me much. I guess the only other advice would be to keep it stored in a dry, cool, smoke-free place.

"From what I see, you ain't leading nothin' but Jack and poo, and Jack left town!" 357969 Dang, that was my favorite quote, and I forgot about it! "Don't touch that please, your primitive intellect wouldn't understand things with alloys and compositions and things with… molecular… structures… " - AoD "The first passage will allow the demon to manifest itself in the flesh. -Why the hell would we want to do that?" - ED2

Evil Dead Army of Darkness "All right, you primitive screwheads, see this? THIS is my BOOM-stick! The 12-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right; this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about $109.95. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. YOU GOT THAT?!!!"

Is that the one where the strangled the baby worm for the blue spice juice? If so, put that on my list too . Also can't get enough of watching Sting trying to be a badass...

"classic" Movies That You Piss On
ghostryder replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Clockwork Orange - Just disturbed me, my wife got off the couch halfway through and went to bed. This is the first time I've seen Maximum Overdrive referred to as a classic, I suppose just because of Stephen King. Truly a lame movie that failed to project the genius of Emilio Estevez. Even the AC/DC sountrack couldn't save it, say, in the way that Queen saved Flash Gordon . -
Back to School C.H.U.D. Deathwish Event Horizon Exterminator, The Hot Shots! Part Deux Men At Work Starship Troopers Weird Science (Paxton at his best!) Zapped! I haven't seen Ice Pirates or Krull in years, but those get honorable mentions.

Looks like you may have skipped a few steps in the DVD Decrypter area. Make sure you look at each screenshot and follow each step. I don't think you're putting DVD Decrypter in the correct mode. H 356637 Okay, I should really not do these things on so little sleep. Everything worked out, and the subs are perfect. Thanks!

H 356637 I'm pretty sure I got each step right, although my version of Decrypter seems to have more check box choices in each window. I'll try downloading Decrypter again to see if the version I have is different. So close....
