  1. Yep... that one is mine. Sure brings the memories back. My email address on that page was actually my first work email. I'm now in my forth job and I no longer use work emails for such things. Carl
  2. Anyone here read the 2007 JMS World War Z script that was posted on-line back in the day? Now THAT is a movie I would have loved to have seen. That script was a great read and I was hoping to see it on the big screen someday. The current version I don't think has any of the JMS version left in it though and sounds much less interesting. Carl
  3. It was asleep for about a decade. If you want a look back here is the place to start. http://www.macrossworld.com/mospeada/john_moscato/_main_john_moscato.htm Carl
  4. Finally finished the game. Its probably the first computer game I've played all the way to the end since the first X-Com something like 20 years ago. Anyways a couple questions... Has anyone installed the DLC Slingshot for this game?http://www.destructoid.com/xcom-enemy-unknown-slingshot-dlc-video-and-screens-239828.phtml I just purchased it and installed it and I'm curious do I need to start all over to see the new missions or can I just play from one of my saved games? And is there even a way to know its been installed correctly? I've tried loading a few saved games and jumped forward a few weeks and I haven't seen anything new yet. Thanks, Carl
  5. Any chance you have a link to that illustration? I'd love to see it.Thanks, Carl
  6. Well the seller has contacted me and offered a partial refund if I want to keep the game. Or a full refund if I'm willing to return it. Is the Special Edition with the art book still available anywhere? Or is the book available seperately? I had hopes of starting the game this weekend but I would like to get the book if I can and don't want to have to buy a second copy of the game down the road if I can avoid it. If someone here has the art book and is willing to sell it let me know. I can easily get by without the patch. Thanks, Carl
  7. I'm a huge fan of the original X-com and didn't know of this remake until I saw this thread. Eager to give it a try I ordered the special edition off Amazon where it states: Special Edition Features include a fold out poster of the XCOM base- An art book detailing the conceptual journey of re-imagining the classic, a patch of the XCOM Viglio/Confido insignia and digital bonus items including multi-monitor desktops, soundrack and more. Well what I got came in a DVD style case and does include the poster and the extra digital bonus. But there was no patch and more importantly I didn't get the 112 page hard cover art book seen here: http://img.gameleade...com_special.jpg Going back and checking the seller wasn't Amazon directly but the item was new and sealed. And there certainly wasn't room for a 112 page hard cover book in that DVD case. Was there more then one "Special Edition"? I'm wondering if the seller pulled a fast one on me or if this was an honest error. Thanks, Carl
  8. Maybe this is their way of telling us they are tired of us . Seriously I have no idea what a $3000 1:1 scale Godzilla hand puppet would look like. Pics anyone?Carl
  9. As more and more stuff gets released on 3D Blu-Ray I've been tempted to jump in. With many 3D science fiction movies being released I hope this is considered on topic. I've asked in a few other forums so so far I've gotten no replies. I just purchased a new PC with the following: AMD Radeon HD 7570 1GB GDDR5 video card Blu-ray Disc BD-RE (Writes BD at 8x) And I just ordered the Samsung S27A950D 3D monitor What else do I need to be able to enjoy 3D Blu-Ray movies? I've read stuff on-line that implies that's it. I've read many cases were people say they can't get the Blu-Ray 3D to play. And everything I've read on-line so far is very contradictory or very dated or both. I even went to Best Buy today in the hopes someone there could set me strait and the general impression I got was they had no clue. One googled a bit and suggested that I may need a 3D Blu-Ray drive and that it needed to specify 3D Blu-Ray. Like this one: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16827106369 He also suggested that I may need a special 3D video player or some special codecs. Anyone here done this? I should have the monitor by the end of the week and was hoping to get everything in place by then. Thanks, Carl
  10. NICE!!! And thanks for pointing me to this thread. I haven't had the time lately to keep up with the forums the way I'd like. Any chance of this story getting translated into English? Thanks, Carl
  11. I've been watching the episodes on the DisneyXD web site. I believe I saw the first 2 episodes and then this past weekend I saw two more. However I think I've missed some. I haven't seen any episodes with Quorra yet and I read she was in one. Looks like the DisneyXD site only keeps the last 2 episodes on its site. Anyone know of a place I can catch all the episides? I hope they have plans of releasing these on DVD or BluRay down the road. I've really enjoyed what I've seen so far. Thanks, Carl
  12. I saw the movie and enjoyed it for the most part. From a physics stand point 2 things bothered me. (1) At the end the Prometheus takes off and flys away from Elizabeth to chase down the ship that had just taken off. This ship is taking off like its heading for space so its got to be going very fast and should be putting significant mileage between it and Elizabeth. Yet when it hits the other ship it happens to fall just where Elizabeth is standing. How is that? It should have been many miles away by that point. (2) Conservation of mass. The squid like thing that is pulled out of Elizabeth appears to be about the size of a football. Its left in the med lab which is still where its at the next time we see it yet then its 100 times bigger. Where did all this extra mass come from? Has it been eating medical equipment? Granted I have the same concern with the first Alien movie. We see this little foot long lizzard like thing pop out of someone's chest and the next time we see it (before its eaten anyone else) its the size of a human. Only thing I can think of is it may be pulling carbon from CO2 in the air. Carl
  13. I was wondering the same thing... the shape of that censored area... its location... I guess now we know why this is called the "boss pod". That is one well endowed zentradi. Carl
  14. Great news. Thanks for the update. Carl
  15. My understanding is that the joints were to be 3D printed. So there must have been a model made at somepoint as I recall see printed parts. If anyone still has that model it should be a simple mater just to upload it to Shapeways. If no one has the model I could offer to try to reverse engineer a model from the printed parts. I'm far from the fastest 3D modeler but I think I should be able to pull that off. Carl
  16. It's been a month. Any update on this topic? Are their any contingency plans? Carl
  17. I can't say I'm much of an expert on either plane but based on the video it doesn't sound like the YF-23 flew long enough to get a good estimate of its maintenance costs. Sounds like the estimates for the F-22 didn't work out to be correct either. The thing that really surprised me about the video is how quickly they took the YF-23 apart after it lost the contract. Considering the time and money spent on it you'd think the AF would want to keep it even if they just had one or two. Am I correct in saying that the two which exist today are just empty shells and that neither is actually flyable? Carl
  18. That and the fireproof windscreen gets subjected to fire at some point. One question though... doesn't intergalactic communication antennae imply that this is set outside the Milky Way? Its been a while since I've watched the Alien movies but I don't recall seeing anything that told me they couldn't have taken place in this galaxy. Did I miss something?Carl
  19. Just curious. Did you ever get in touch with Jason Lewis? I'd love to see him revive some of his threads as well or maybe a joint project between the two of you.Carl
  20. WOW!!! I just found this again myself and I feel the same way. So happy this thread is alive again.Carl
  21. The composite joints were to be 3D printed as I recall. Any chance you have the 3D models? I could upload them to Shapeways if so.Carl
  22. Does this link help: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=93 Carl
  23. WOW!!! You have a cool job. WOW!!! That is one cool VTOL. And WOW!!! How did I not know another Total Recall was in the works? Carl
  24. Many years... its over a decade. And yes a small delay is no issue at all with me. THANKS!!!
  25. I had a free moment and went looking for this thread as I was curious to see what I'd missed. Not much sadly, put I wanted to let you know I'd love to see this finished eventually. Carl
