Now here is where I need some help. I need this part, which is currently brass, recasted in something clear, translucent might be even better. Carl

All, I currently have any Enterprise project that has been in the works for years. The person I have doing the lighting is very busy and I've told him this was low priority but I would like to see in finished someday. Here are a few in-process pics to show you what I'm talking about. Carl

Thanks... I'll give that a try. Before I get in over my head may I ask what a BitTorrent is. Carl

Thanks... I just found the kit I was thinking of too. Atleast I think this is the one I saw before. So it's in Macross Zero. Are there any good subs or dubs of Macross Zero in English yet? Is there an official English version coming? I haven't seen this yet and I was sort of holding out for something official. I toyed with the idea of getting the Japanese DVDs just to see the pretty pictures but I know I'll get an English version one of these days and really wanted to see the pretty pictures when I could follow the story too. I've been avoiding spoilers too or I guess I would have known where this was from. Thanks again, Carl

I remember some time ago seeing a scratch built model of one of these. Anyone know where that picture is now by the way? Anyways at the time I though it was just the creative licence of the model maker. Today I spotted the above line art so I assume it's more official then that. Has this appeared in any animation or game? Does it have a name? Must know more. Did that scratch built model make it to a WF release? Thanks, Carl

Ken will probably post something here when he's ready. Mine is missing screws and instructions, but Ken has said I'll get those when he gets the final kits finished. He also stated this to me in one email... "I slapped on some box art too, but they're undersized, as I currently don't have the means of printing on 11x17" sheets like I want to..." so he might be working on that too. I think he's also toying with the idea of casting with colored resin. Mine is white and he though that would show chipped paint too much. In short I think he's got a little ways to go yet but I know he's working on this project when he can so lets try not to rush him. Carl

Do the windows go all the way around the cockpit? I'm wondering why they are sitting with their backs to the windows. Carl P.S. Click arrow above to see pic. Still figuring out just what the new forums can do. Looks like I need a new avatar too.

I just got mine today. It looks great!!! Fantastic job Ken. Here is mine along side the IHP and the Liquid Stone original. One of which also came in the mail today. The other I got off Yahoo Japan some time ago. My set is now complete. *said in an evil voice while rubbing hands together greedily* Enjoy, Carl

Very very cool. I want one. How have I missed this thread till now? Has anything been said about price yet? Either way, if someone sees the official release thread and I haven't posted there yet, please PM me. It's hard to find the time to keep up these days. Great work, Carl
-
Just noticed that myself. Sorry. However seeing as the beta/tread is one of my personal favorites I'd be happy to see it have a thread of its own. In the end I guess that's up to the moderators. There will be no hard feelings either way. Carl

Check it out... Melissa pointed this out to me while MW was down. Thanks Melissa. Carl

The shadowing looks better but I think the size was more acurate in the first shot. They look like they are the height of a 7 or 8 story building now. Carl
-
WOW!!! That looks great. Only two things jump out at me as possibly not being right and even those I'm not sure of off the top of my head. (1) The rear landing gear doors. You have one that opens forward and it looks like one that opens to the outer side. Shouldn't there be 3? I though there was another that opened toward the inner side as well. (2) What are the round things with the diagonal slash though them called? There is one on each side of the nose that looks correct to me? However in your first picture I see one of the side just ahead of the wing. That one looks a little small to me. I was thinking it sould have been the same size as the others but knowing me I'm probably wrong. I can't wait to see more, Carl

I wish I wasn't so far away... I'd love to make it to this. Seiichi, have you ever seen another one of these Mospeada books? I'd be very greatful if you had any ideas on how to track one down. Thanks, Carl

Since we were talking about the line art that came with the Monocraft kit here is what was included with mine. Carl
-
Add me to that boat too... on all 3 points. Carl
-
Why did you add this line AFTER I made my first post? It you want calm and peace get rid of all the CAPS, the !!!!!!, and the twisting of other people's comments. Just some friendly advice, even if you are 100% right, that first post of your's isn't the right way to introduce yourself here. This will probably be my last post in this threat as I'll take my own advice and ignore the rest of it, Carl
-
That's some first post. Personally I ignore most of the "fighting" to which you refer. If it weren't for Robotech I'd likely not currently know about Macross. I like them both, have them both on DVD, etc. I still have a hard time getting the rest of the family to sit through either. Oh well... If you ask me most of the fighting gets going just because it draws attention. Ignore it and it doesn't seem to feed it as bad plus it keeps the blood pressure down. Just my 2 cents, Carl

No, the MonoCraft didn't come with any decals. That was something added to the kit by New Type. However my MonoCraft kit did come with several very nice sheets of line art. Did yours? I'm not sure if that was originally with the kit or not. By the way, where did you get your MonoCraft kit? I've only ever seen one other besides mine in all my years of looking. That truely is a very rare find. The one I've got I found on eBay years ago and I don't think I've ever seen this kit on Yahoo Japan. Carl

Thank you... you are too kind. Thanks for the info on the AJAC. I am familiar with it as I though, I'd just forgotten it's name. If you ever want my email address feel free to PM me. I'm no longer with TI so the email address you see over at Carl's corner is no longer good and Shawn just hasn't had the time yet to take it down. Carl

You are welcome... That's not the model section... that's Carl's corner. I think that's the RETPPU kit seen here. That picture you posted has been around a while and I think its too old to be any of the other EAGER kits I'm aware of. There was one other EAGER kit available here in the states which I think wasn't licensed however I never got one while they were available. It's the last kit listed here: http://www.artemisgames.com/robotech/Resea...ada/Models.html Anyone know if Hot Goblin Modeling Garage Kit is still around in some form? Oh... and something else I should point out. See the "Lark Garage Kit" of the 1/100 Legioss and Tread? That IS the MonoCraft kit. I've seen it elsewhere called the MonoCraft/Lark kit. The 1/100 scaling info is wrong. That came from a typo in the same magazine that picture of the kit was grabbed from. Note the Lark kit is listed at 5800 yen. Check out the price of the MonoCraft kit (lower left corner). Carl

Cool... One question/comment though. The New Type hobbies tread was manufactured by a store (which I think is now closed) out in California. I find it just a little odd that you can trace it back to Japan. However I'm sure some of them did make it over there. My first thought after reading that it was from Japan was that you might of had a Monocraft kit. They were made in Japan. However looking at your directions I'd say you've got the New Type kit. Could you post a picture of your box? A little history if anyone is interested. The owner of New Type Hobbies and Toys bought the master Monocraft used to make their kit. It was in rough shape so he fixed it up a bit and added the ability to build the Tread as a stand alone kit. However he never licensed the kit. I've talked to him and his claim is that he used the same license Monocraft had. However Monocraft's license was only good in Japan and New Type sold them here in the states. Also you never see the sticker on the New Type kits that are on the Monocraft kits. The improvements New Type made make theirs a better kit in my opinion however if you get right down to it, its a recast of the Monocraft kit. Atleast it used the same master. Just a little info, Carl

There are 3. http://www.macrossworld.com/mospeada/_tread_models.htm Carl

You have GREAT taste my friend. The Tread is my favorite mecha too. I must ask... (and I'm sure this is a studip question) what is an AJAC? There is only one vehicle that trumps the Tread in my opinion and that is the Land Master from the movie "Damnation Alley". Now WHY has no one EVER made a kit of that? Carl

Macross II just model kits only VF-2SS. This being the toy section maybe this isn't worth mentioning but there are more Macross II model kits out there then just the VF-2SS. B-Club has done the VF-2JA (both Battroid and Fighter), the Gilgamesh, and the Metal Siren. Have a look here: http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/models/b-club/b-club.htm Also if you get the Musasiya VF-2SS, it comes with 3 Zentradi pods. It's been a while since I've watched Macross II so I'm not sure what the "Red alien mecha" is you are refering to at the moment. Carl
