Im betting my collection (the integrity of it) that another 1J will come one way or another. It’s why I only have one right now. Even if for some reason it doesn’t come I can put GBP on any other Valk I have too. I kinda like the look on 1As better anyways.

While I’d love to be wrong I can’t imagine this to be anything but crap. Even if it turns out to be the next breakthrough blockbuster I don’t think it will do much for Macross sales. Just look at the recent success of MCU. The average consumer thinks Black Widow is an original staple of the Avengers and they have no idea who all the comic book figures are of until they show up in a movie. Then they just want to buy the MCU version of the character and talk about how cool it is when they probably just glossed over the same character in comic form a few months ago.

My analysis would match most of what’s been said unless the Hikaru 1J gets reissued. If so, I think the Hikaru 1S will surpass the 1J in price. A 1J reissue most likely won’t come with the extra stand but I don’t think that will matter to most people.

Lol, no kidding! I think it’s just another example of how small the Macross collecting community truly is. The same thing happens with most other non Hikaru/Roy or CF Valks. There just isn’t huge demand for this stuff but the people who want it will pay nearly anything to get it if they missed out.

Both regular and PF versions of M&M have been discounted at HLJ and NY recently. That seems pretty normal for the pair for some reason and then when stock dries up, those two become some of the most expensive in the aftermarket. Haha.

Really? I’ve been waiting to see the 35th anniversary one on clearance but it seems to have gone up in price or stayed the same at least.

Yeah, VF-4 is also instabought. One of the cleanest fighter modes in any Valk toy ever made and that deco is beautiful. I’m guess I’m just another gullible bastard that thinks it’s worth the price Arcadia charges just for the deco alone, let alone getting a Valk with it. Factor in the time it would take me to do a job not as good as their PF and yeah, it’s worth way more than they charge to me. I’m with @Corrinald on Arcadia still being my favorite Valks to collect overall. I wouldn’t mind paying less obviously.

Haha, that’s why I just preorder from NY whenever possible and forget about worrying about anything. It’s almost always significantly cheaper there.

Yeah, just wanted to clarify to anyone who didn’t know the differences when comparing prices with Jungle or AJ. For Jungle, sure you can send to a Japan address but then don’t you get the 10% tax instead? Even if not, you get additional fees and shipping for the middleman.

Just remember, at AJ you can reduce the listed price by 10% because we don’t pay tax. At Jungle, you need to add 5% to the listed price for their surcharge.

Nice, I just got it too. Seems like every one I've seen so far has the same ding in the top right or left corner. Oh well, nbd. BTW, I opened it and forgot how terrible the toy actually is, If you can see from the packaging without opening, check for the wheels on top and bottom in the back because one was missing on mine so I'm going to have to exchange it. -

I saw a DX VB-6 at a local shop recently for about $100. I passed but always regretted it and when I went back to rectify that, it was already sold. Now, I won’t settle for any price above $150 to get another chance at it. So that means I most likely won’t be getting one, fml.

I don’t think Mandarake has a boat option. See below for more details. Last few Valks I got there were 4000k to ship with the cheapest option. I think they only offer EMS or DHL for Valk sized packages.
