Some people never check the sale threads and would never know about it if it wasn't here so I'm all for posts in here relating to anything that is "revisiting/appreciating the 1/55s" Of course, any further details can be taken elsewhere but at least let us hear about something where we might see it.

End of day, I'm with @DYRL VF-1S I don't care about interior details. I have plenty of Yamato 1/48 and V2 1/60s that have the details and I display a total of one out of all of those with just one side visible using clear covers as a novelty. Other than that, I never even bother taking any panels off to look inside.

I'll throw in another point...SSP shortage. Could this have anything to do with it?

There are several lines. Soul of Chogokin, DX Chogokin, and DX Soul of Chogokin. SOC is mainly super robots and some ships. DX Chogokin is pretty much the Macross Mecha line. DX SOC is their ultimate, larger versions of classic Super Robots with added details and features.

The Tamashii stages are often reissued. During times in between and stock is maybe lower, the price can go up. Once they are reissued, they usually go on clearance after a while and the cycle continues.

Yeah, love the Joe vehicles and Cobra especially. When they release the Trouble Bubbles I just might have to buy ALL OF THEM!

Totally agree and awesome collection of parts there! I'm with @DYRL VF-1S about customizing my own stuff but I certainly love seeing what you and others come up with. Great stuff!

Nice! So it seems I did get it mostly right other than missing the Takatoku GBP set also only had the heat shield. Also that odd Hikaru 1J reissue before the clip in replacements were made. Finally, it is safe to assume all of those that either came with nothing or slide over shield can remove canopy using screw method. And the only screw in heat shields are the black skulls.

Based on the recent discussion on the topic, this is what I infer. All Takatoku releases have the ability to remove canopy or heat shield using the screw method but I can’t confirm any came with both. Seems like only the single release 1S with yellow stripe had the heat shield only so you could mix and match between them. The older Bandai releases before the reissues seem to all have the same screw method capability with just the Hikaru Strike 1S confirmed to come with both. Thats all I got that I am fairly confident about but probably wrong about something there too. Basically, if it came with the clip over heat shield, I’m assuming you could still remove the canopy using the screw method but no one has confirmed that. Just seems to make sense to my logic.

That custom is sweet @sh9000! And thanks to everyone with the continued information and clarification of the heat shield discussion. I’ve mentioned that I do believe the CM will be reissued one day. I don’t even know how many I actually have because they either got packed for me if they were old versions when I moved out or any reissues I bought, I packed them away immediately after purchase and haven’t seen most of them since. When I came across my 1S Super Pack, I grabbed it and put it on a shelf but that’s it. If they do reissue these things, I’ll still buy more.

Yeah, the recent talks pushed me over the edge. I’m not taking anything away from anyone else but I might have the most love for the CM. They are a one of a kind, greatest of all time, once in a lifetime toy.

So far, I'm in nostalgia overdrive and really enjoying it! I'm happy to find this is basically in new condition even though it was listed as used. I almost...almost considered not opening it because it was sealed so well and buying another, lol! Only thing I will say is there are some parts that don't seem to fit as nicely or tightly as my originals from my memory. Mainly the chest piece in fighter/gerwalk mode and the feet are not as smooth or tight. Everything else is fantastic and some parts are tighter than I ever remembered. It is certainly a great feeling to handle a basically new CM again.

After the recent talk in the 1/55 thread and the constant itch I always have, I went ahead and just found a decent deal and bought another one so I can open and play immediately instead of digging through my collection for my old ones. More CFs never hurt right?

And so... Instead of digging through my collection to find something, I found a decent deal and pulled the trigger for some instant gratification. I figure there is always room for more CFs right? Anyways, after I have some fun, I’ll post opened pictures of the well handled Valk.
