Fantastic! I just purchased a 1/60 Queadluun Rau today. Getting closer and closer to getting all the key pieces I've always wanted. How is the Robot Spirits version? I'm thinking it could be a decent stand in for my HMR display.

A lot of the most expensive, high performance cars, aircraft and many other precision items are more delicate and break easier than cheaper, simpler items.
-
Well, that's unfortunate...
-
Oh, you mean for the consumer? Yeah, of course. When you calulate how much time it would take to do a halfway decent job, it would be worth just paying for the tampo, especially when you end up with a better and more durable look. Thing is, I never sticker my valks and they seem to look fine.
-
The stickered versions don't come stickered...they come with a sticker sheet for you to apply yourself as you want. No labor saving involved other than I imagine it is a lot easier and faster to print a sticker sheet compared to the tampo process.
-
Basically, tampos look better...especially when they are shot in focus and the stickered photos are not.

Top 3 1/55 VF-1S with Super Parts. This is what started it all for me. Such a solid, well designed and built toy that was way ahead of its time and still a great toy by today's standards. 1/60 VF-0S by Arcadia. Probably one of the best designed, made and looking Valks ever. An amazing toy. 1/100 Hi-Metal R Regult. Finallly a quality and scaled enemy for my Valks to go up against. If I could, I'd say the whole HMR line but the Regult is what pushed me over to get into the line and was my first HMR. There is no such thing as least favorite Macross toy to me. I guess if there was one I would let go before any others, it would be the Figuarts Zero Mirage figure I just got. It looks great but it doesn't transform and it barely moves at all. I held off getting it until it was on sale but about a week later, it went on sale for almost half the price I got it for and I wish I waited just a bit longer. It was my first Figuarts Zero figure I ever bought and I'm not into statues much so I knew what I was getting into but it looks good and I was fiending to get more MAcross figures in my hands.

Nice sh9000! Where do you have the space for all this stuff?

More PayPal woes here too huh? Just so you guys know, I called and they said your best bet is to cancel any existing payment agreements you have and re set them up. Problem is, unless they have fixed the bug, you may still have the issue when you reset so might be best to wait and see if any word that the fix is done.

Looks really good!

Yeah, some of us have ben talking about this the last few pages. Happened to me too. I talked to them and there is no way you're getting money back unless you get a full refund and then recharge it. Even then, there is a high chance of the same issue. Nope, others mentioned it and some were appaled and some like me think it's an absurd thing to be bothered by.

I'm so friggin jealous. My favorite pair and I haven't had one set of them until this year.

That's the PayPal conversion rate. You should have got around 1 usd = 109 jpy I setup a new PayPal account just for purchasing from Japanese stores and got a credit card with no fees to do it. Everything has been dandy and all my charges are for Yen through that account. This issue just happened today. Really annoying.

Did you get charged PayPal conversion fees? Lol, I don't know wtf is up but I wish HLJ went back to their old merchant account. Never had so many problems with them before.

Thanks man! I followed all your instructions from before and been using a no fee MC for a while now. Today, it went back to charging me the PayPal conversion again with no change in my part. I called them and got a bunch of blah blah blah about a known bug and tried their suggestion of deactivating any existing payment agreement and resetting but it still didn't work. I tried all those methods you've mentioned and in the second case, no coversion rate was not shown, only yen but I still got the damn PayPal charge.

There seems to be an issue with PayPal right now. I called and they claim there is a bug in the system. I've been unable to make a purchase from HLJ without getting charged PayPal's conversion rate. Anyone else notice this?

Yep, that's why NY is my goto spot for these things. It makes it a no-brainer when their shipped price is about the same or lower than everyone else's non-shipped price. I rarely ever bother with combining orders and like not bothering with a limited private warehouse when I know I already got a lower price no matter how much you could possibly save with combining at the other shops. The best thing is, if you really wanted to, you can combine orders to potentially save even more.
-
Tell me about it! I just might have to splurge on these though because M&M set is a grail I've been wanting since I was a kid and somehow the pair have continued to elude me until this year. No...NY's conversion is much worse than Paypal or any credit card fees. Just do the math...

Buy now, then buy again later. You didn't get the memo?
-
PO cancelled! Actually it was! But seriously, I don't care that the insignia is a few degrees off. Do people have screenshots posted right next to the toy and have fits over any detail that doesn't match perfectly? If it was something that made the toy look like crap, I can understand but it looks fine...probably better the way it is.

A couple big reasons why old toys lasted longer is: #1: It was still early on relatively in the profit is #1 toy industry and resources were more plentiful. #2: The designs were much simpler...it's easy to make a block that just bends in a couple places with a big solid screw hinge durable. The "toys" we are buying these days are way more detailed and complicated than anything we ever got before. The fact that they can even be produced and sold as consumer products is already pretty impressive. Could they be even better? Sure!, always! All I know is I buy tons of Macross and most the time, they are just repaints of the same VF-1 or whatever but every one I get gives me much more satisfaction than just about any other toy. That's all that matters to me. Am I getting what I want and am I enjoying it? If not, then I'll do something else.

Nice sh9000! You are having a lot of fun with these things...the way it should be!
