That Senna Lotus is my favorite. It was my favorite when I was a little kid too. I used to have a picture of me sitting in one of them at the Detroit Grand Prix when I was I think 11. My Mom worked for Car and Driver at the time so we had passes for everywhere. I was drooling all over the JPS Lotus (I had a few die casts of them already) and the crew guys asked if I wanted to sit in it. I was stoked!!!!!

Funny story. A friend from school went with me. We had our own all access passes and my Mom had work stuff to do most of the day so we were on our own. Practice was about to start so we worked our way toward the circuit. We kept going through check point after check point with no one stopping us (apparently they were great passes!) all the way until we got to the Jersey barriers and fence separating the racing surface from everything else. The place where you see corner workers and photographers. We thought that was the coolest thing in the world............until the first car came by! HOLY CRAP! They were so loud that it HURT! We literally ran away.

Hahaha! That is awesome! Reminds me when I was in HS, I had access to military bases and there were a couple airbases nearby. I used to just go sit next to the airstrips and watch fighter planes takeoff and land all the time. Miramar was one of the ones that were decently close and I went there to watch the real “Top Gun”.😁

  2. I have some in other scales and lower quality 1:18 so they don’t really count. All the ones you mentioned would be considerations based on space and money if I found the right ones I want. I’ll pass on the Fusion but I bet it’s a decent value for what it is. 😂

Yours is a good theme too but I fear that could get way too broad for me. 1/64 or around Hot Wheels size and those recent 1/32 Hollywood Rides cars are good and cheap enough for me to collect more of those…of which I have no idea how many I have at this point. It’s gotta be at least 10 large storage boxes full.

So, the question now is whether Mirage 31AX will make it to the States? 🤔

Oh, it will make it to the States one way or another. Most likely by ferry from a Japanese retailer to my doorstep at the very least.

What's wrong with mykombini? I got a VF-1J Armored combo set with them for $384 shipped via DHL. They only charged a little over 5k Yen for shipping. The most affordable shipping outside of AJ for the combo set.

They’ve delivered items for me in the past, which is fine. But the VF-31A I and others had ordered through them and prepaid for were cancelled with an excuse that they didn’t have stock to fulfill our orders. Then they relisted the item they supposedly had no stock of the next day with a huge markup. To me, that’s the lowest of the low I’ve seen from any of these shops.

The way things are going on the West Coast you may see that sometime in 2023!😲

I’m not worried about it. Ports have been backed up since this all started and all my ferry shipments have taken 3 months instead of 1-2 months. All good with me as I consider it free storage until it arrives. Main point is NY sent out my order with shipping included for less than what most other shops charged for the figure without shipping and that’s my main reason for ever using them in the first place.

  6. I've mentioned several times that I would rather not have something than buy from ninnin or mykombini if those were the only choices. Fwiw, I still use NY as a last resort and in this case, they sent out my combo GBP set for a total of 32900Y (ferry) last month.

I'm disappointed that Bandai killed off the Walkure S.H.Figuarts line after Freyja and Mikumo. They teased the rest of Walkure, and then nothing, which is probably due to the poor sales of Freyja and Mikumo.

We did get a full set of Walkure Kuju figures though, which I think the special LAST prize was Mirage in Walkure idol costume, and some members here were able to obtain the full set. They looked OK for that quality level of figure.

Bandai also released Figuarts Zero of Freyja, Mikumo and Mirage I think, and those also didn't sell well... shelf warmers to this day on HLJ (maybe they're been cleared finally in the recent sales this year).

I remember Ranka and Sheryl got soooo many figures from many manufacturers. Walkure just didn't take off the same way Ranka and Sheryl did.

I'm hoping for some new premium Macross Frontier and Delta figures with the release of the new movie.

Mirage Figuarts Zero was the first Macross figure statue I ever bought and I vowed never to buy another after I got that. After seeing other options including the Banpresto, I again say that those are worth it to me if they have characters/looks that you want. The Figuarts Zero Mirage cost 5-6 or even more times more than the Banpresto versions and there is no additional quality that I perceive as worth paying any amount more for.

I would have paid or the SHF Walkure figures if they ever came out with them but now I'm kind of glad they didn't and I got Banpresto for much less. These idol figures are just display accessories for my Valks and I really don't need articulated figures or high end, precious material statues of them. If they make more SHF, give us "action figures" like that Britai they teased!

  8. Yeah, Banpresto are some of the best value statues out there imo. I don't really like buying statues but when I do, I think the quality and look of Banpresto is more than good enough especially for the price.

    Me too!

I have one full blown project car left in me. I'm not sure what I want to do. The current choices are:

-77' Bandit Trans Am restomod with a big inch LS with a blower, 6 speed manual, big brakes, big suspension, etc. All the amenaties, etc. I'd probably use a 77' AT nad a recent Camaro (wrecked) as the donor.

-67' Ford F-100 made into an extenda cab on a custom tube chassis sporting a 800rwhp GT500 motor and one of the 10 speed auto's out of the new Mustangs. Again, all the amenities. Something that would be nice to drive cross country.

-Mad Max Interceptor replica with a 800rwhp GT500 drivetrain in it. And again, all the amenities.

If I was smart I'd sell all of the motors, transmissions, blowers, rear ends, etc I have and get a 2020+ GT500 Track Pack and leave it stock. Or a C8 Corvette.....and leave it stock. I'm not smart though.:p

    Smart is for dummies!:D

Wasn't sure where else to post this so I figured I'd do it here.  Have a chance to get a GX-71 Voltron set brand new for retail and as a lover of the original cartoon and seeing raving reviews on it I think I might pull the trigger.  Does anyone on here have it and what are their thoughts on how good of a toy it is?

I don't like Voltron. But that toy is so good, I had to get one just as a collector of great toys and super robots. No regrets at all, it is excellent.
