@Slave IV In bot mode I think they are just about darn near perfect, alt mode is mehh, but at this scale, I'm ok with that. I will mostly have these in robot mode anyway. Don't overpay for them, but quality wise they are great little figs!
Good to know. Yeah, I haven’t been disappointed by any of the Newage figures I have. Just want better alt modes.

I've prayed for a similar opportunity. I STILL don't have him!
Well, good thing is you can get a Bandai reissue Valk, which is basically the same thing but I think better. Not for that price though.

I got a ton of things from some garage sales. No Macross but GI Joe and Transformers goldmines for next to nothing. My friend got a complete Jetfire for $10 and I was cool with that since I still have my original but damn sure I would have swooped on it if he didn’t want it.

Used to do it all the time. A friend and I used to drive all around town to hit up every spot within 50 miles several times a week. Nowadays, it isn’t so much fun. I considered preorder madness the new hunt these days.

Lol yeah, that sucker just wants to be posed. I had a hard time making him just stand up straight because there's so many points of articulation just in it's feet! Anywho, posing takes up SO much space and I need to fit like 2-3 more figures on that shelf still. I also have no imagination so I just use the same standard pose over and over again. I wish there was a thread on people just posing their toys in epic/unique ways that I could copy.
Thanks
I hear you on the space thing. I can’t even display anything but one shelf currently because the rest is piled in storage. But the thread you ask for does exist.

Thanks everyone! Honestly, if I hadn't found MacrossWorld when I did (Arcadia release of the SDF-1) I don't think I would have ever gotten back into collecting. This website has been an amazing resource for links to stores and information on items I never knew existed or could ever find outside of eBay.
That’s quite a collection to amass in such a short time!
I will say out of everything, it’s kinda a crime to see the Moshow Shingen just standing straight up like that. It’s one of the most dynamic figures I’ve ever seen and begs to be shown off in some pose that most other figures could never pull off. But who am I to talk when mine is trapped in a prison of a box? 😆

That is excellent @Grey728

Despite the shortcomings in the joint strength, I actually don’t mind the mega partsforming aspect of the VF100 line so much. It just presents another way to enjoy a toy, somewhat like a simple Lego but with rather accurate sculpt. It’s a good thing the plastics are pretty strong and the parts fit rather well.Since this line’s initial release, over the years there have been more 1/100 Macross items so I feel they display well against each other.
The Family Mart version is a unique scheme, and I love the metallic fighter-only schemes of the VF-25S & VF-25F.
That's a good way to look at it. I got mine with the intention to display with HMR and other ~1\100 mecha and aircraft.

Opened and fiddled with a VF100 Armored VF-25F. Going over reviews of it, I already lowered my expectations accordingly and intended it to be mostly a statue piece for display. Yet I didn't expect it was this bad as a toy whilst setting it up.
The hips are loosey goosey, won't support the weight of its legs when posed hanging in the air, and together with the equally loose & rubbish ankles it will not stand at all by itself on a solid surface. The included stand is also very limited in its movement range, such that this is about the only pose I can make it do with valk's feet touching the ground.
Haha, I got a VF100 VF-25 a while back...opened it and tried to mess around with it but gave up pretty quickly and it's been back in the box since.
At least you did a great job of making it look good in that pic! At some point when I get a display area ready, I'll open mine again, set it up and leave it at that.

You might want three in case they do reactive armor separately.

Bandai's way of getting more bang out of our bucks..
but nevertheless i can see how this gunship, in fact, can double up as a nice desktop display, due to its size, maybe with wings folded up, landed.
All in a compact display box..
There is that. I started collecting MCX Masters of the Universe because they are small, cheap and manageable. Never planned to get any of the larger figures. But now I’m pretty much all in on the Origins line and been getting some of the even bigger Masterverse line so that didn’t work out. Same would happen to me with these.

Finally got a Gunship!
Went for this, as the formania gunship, the wings well, were too featherly for my liking...I admit, expected this gunship to be bigger. Thought a wrong package got delivered instead...
Comes with lighted wing engines, transparent figs and a mini mehve in tow as a complete display on the stand...
Nice! I love that movie and all the designs from it. Most the items I have are surprisingly small too though.

I'm never going to be able to unsee that now.
Looks kinda like an EVA 01 mouth.....but missing it's front teeth.
It’s the great step grandpa!

Kinda looks like a jaw with big, squared off molars.

The new release was quite a bit better at holding on the missiles, but yes, I just stuck a small sliver of scotch tape over the tabs on my old Yamato release, and they all hold very firmly.
Forgot i have the recent 4A release and i didn't notice them falling off so they must have been improved.

Magic Tape or thin coat of Clear Nail Polish.
Yeah, next time I dig mine out and find my future, I’ll try to fix that issue.

@Slave IV in addition to its design, it’s also a testament to both Yamcadia 1/60s & Bandai HMRs (now why not the 31AX dammit!
) were well implemented in their fit & finish.
There are no obvious tell-tale gaps that show which parts come apart for transformation & this help sell the non-transformability factor.
Definitely! It’s part of why I hold Yamacadia to a higher standard. Their fit and finish on most of their Valks is just better and more seamless. The design of the VF-4 really helped showcase it for them. Now…if only they could have made the missiles attach better. 😂

Awww. There goes that idea. Maybe if they ever get around to a 1/48 Millia I can use that N-Y store credit then.
Is it me or has it been forever since the last 1/48 VF-1 release?
I guess you weren't joking. Have you tried checking the NY website lately?
Joy of the hunt?

Yeah, that is beautiful work right there and it would be amazing if Bandai released an official version of their DX in that deco. The original toy is still better though so I get you.
