    Cool.

Some recent acquisitions of mine.  Obviously not remakes, originals but getting very pricey these days.  I found these at reasonable prices, at least relative to the crazy auction house prices.

Don't often see Joes on here, but they're getting hot.  Makes me regret not getting them earlier, but you can't have everything.

Ooo, Snow Serpents are nice. Those and EELs are my favorite special environment troops from Cobra.

    Have a Merry Christmas @sh9000!

This is about the greatest Christmas special I ever seen! I’m considering it canon. 😄

    Agreed on this. :good:

Yamato 17 is a bit of love-hate. Basically it is quite the polar opposite of the Chogokin 171. Sculpt is neither here nor there on both fighter & battroid, it has next to none tampo details & the legs in Fighter have a strong tendency to detach. Yet the wings stay on properly, the plastics feels very robust, and the heft is likely to be just about the heaviest per sq inch for a valk (I don't have the 1/55 chunky so perhaps that trumps it).

And while the Chogokin 171 have detached quite far from the F-117 due to the long nose cone, the Yamato 17 still looks the part.

I see one MAJOR issue with this.

Get your butt up and get yourself a 1/55 Chunky NOW!

I have an idea to save folks a lot of grief and time struggling with this issue:

We simply declare yellowing 'canon"; that after so much time in space, the paint just tends to yellow on the mecha.

    Boom! Problem solved! :D

    Lol! I know huh?

But we all know people will then take images from different sources and drive themselves crazy complaining that their shade of yellow is off. 🤪

  5. HG already has a note that they are moving and to expect delays on shipping and CS. With the holidays on top, constantly barraging them with emails and threats is just going to compound the problem. I mentioned this back with NY and other shops but either have some patience or just take action to get your money back if it has been beyond a reasonable time given the circumstances. Any business that is experiencing difficulties for any reason is just going to get worse if people don't leave them alone and give them time to do their jobs. There is similar talk going on now with the domestic retailer Dorkside and there is a great podcast that just came out with responses from people at the shop that say this exact thing... just leave them alone or if you must send something, send one email and leave it at that. If you can't deal with it, then just secure your stuff elsewhere and start getting your money back from them.

  6. Yeah, it's just always funny to me that people are using different monitors, differently lighted subjects and different frames of animation or other source material with no idea what processing or degradation there is to those sources to compare or often criticize the color of some toy. Its just a peeve of mine since properly calibrated monitors and reference source material is a basic need for any significant color criticism. I just like to enjoy cool pics like above and leave the color issues to color scientists with the proper resources.

  7. A perfect example of not trusting any image you see on the internet to judge colors of anything.😉

Unless you know how the image was processed and have a properly calibrated monitor for that image, it won't do anything but frustrate people who are particular about color matching.

I forgot to mention. When stacking bare boxes I would highly recommend using cardboard slips after the second or third layer. I usually leave an extended flap to bend and create more strength to the stack. It really helps stabilize the boxes and reduces wear and tear and buckling.

That's a good tip. I have a bunch of foam board that I use for stuff like that. It's a perk of alway having signs printed for work events. They are great for me to reuse as backgrounds to take photos and box buffer/protectors in storage.

  9. Yeah, I'm not buying anymore bins for more than double the price I used to pay and they aren't always the most efficient without some really creative and lucky fitting boxes. I've been considering switching to mostly unboxing/unbinning and stacking the bare boxes like nB4m but doing a test run in one of my closets, it only saved me maybe one or two small boxes worth of space so I'm not sure the effort will be worth it for me. I need to save space and like having everything clearly visible to access but I also lose protection and the amount of time it would take me is probably worth a fortune as well. Right now, I'm stuck with my storage mostly looking like this:

For those getting the DX 21, we all know that Bandai loves to plaster the hideous tattoos on where ever the heck they want (like the Full Set DX 19), is anyone going to remove them and make it less eye sore or just leave it the way it is?

I don’t care if it is overdone like Bandai or very plain like normal Arcadia releases. Neither way is worth any extra effort and enjoyable as they are imo. If I have some appropriate water slide decals, I might put those on some of the plain Arcadia releases but that’s the most I’ll do.

Yeah but what I am saying is correct right? SV-51, yf-19, and vf-0 are all reused mold in a sense that they are derivative of the original Yamato with little improvement here and there. I just hope Bandai or Arcadia give some love to the yf-21 and for Yamato just straight up re-release will be amazing as well.

I’m pretty sure at least the VF-0 is a completely different mold and it’s definitely significantly better. The Arcadia VF-0 is arguably the best Valk toy ever made.
