  1. Having finally watched this movie; it was over-hyped. Mind you, this isn't a bad movie at all, just not the true successor to Spiderman 2, as far as being the best Spidey film. While seeing all the Spidey's together was cool, whether in the lab or swinging behind the masks, it felt a little rushed at the end. After all, I was under the impression Ned was bringing them in from their universes, not that they had come through with the baddies and were just hiding out in NYC until called upon; seems weak to me. Spidey in almost any version would have gone straight to people and places he knew in the new universe in order to make contact with himself, something akin to what 616 Spidey pulled off upon going to the Ultimate Universe. While I get that there was supossed to be a cute joke behind Spidey 1, 2, and 3; a more appropiate course of action would have been Peter Parker, Ben Reilly (Garfield due to the loss of Gwen) and paying homage to Tom's Aunt May. Tobey given the kill count should have chimed in with "Kaine" or one his enemies call him that, giving us both a joke and easter egg, while helping with the confusion. Molina, stole the show in the fist half and Dafoe stole the second half; both managed to reprise their roles as if having never left, same can't be said for Tobey. Connor's/Lizard was used to such appalling standards and when did Garfield's Spidey ever cure an Osborn? Norman died before ever officially becoming the Goblin and Harry was still having episodes of it coming and going at the end of ASM2, so not cured. Also given that the spiders in question for each Spiderman seem to be different, even if Garfield's genetics could have helped his Harry, it doesn't mean the formula that Tobey's Osborn's took was the same. In ASM it's implied that the only reason Peter is Spiderman is because his father's DNA was already a part of the spider's that bit him. This should have really been a two part film and not the rushed job it finally turned into. So to summarzie we got Spiderverse mixed with a little Sinster Six (Mysterio made an appearance, if only post-mordum) and sprinklings of One More Day and Brand New Day.
  2. So I've seen Blaster in both Twincast colors and SG; are they doing both or just one or the other?
  3. Just went back and rewatched the scene in King of The Road where Prime and Motormaster play chicken. My memory played it out with both of them getting a "torquing up" shot with the "coal rolling" before setting off for each other; completely not the case. In fact not even Prime has stacks in the scene. Guess I've been mixing in the scene in More Than Meets the Eye, when they are rolling up to stop the Decepticon launch, which was also used as part of the ending credits as well. A pleasant surprise was noticing that the visible kibble just behind the cab is cartoon accurate.
  4. Box art looks promising! The lack of smoke stacks is a bummer but in many ways par-for-course with the current line. I really hope that's not Deadend or Wildrider just above Dragstrip on the front cover toward the bottom; that looks nothing like either a Porsche or Ferrari. More like an 89' Pontiac LeMans or the Suzuki equivalent.
  5. Still on the fence with Laser, like you, not a fan of the shoulder (blind spots) but I don't know it's enough to deter me off the figure. It's another Prime mold is how I view it, with a trailer so swapping things between Nemesis and Laser only adds to the "leave it in the preorder pile". I'm actually hoping the trailer is a separate thing. While I know in the cartoon and the original G1 toy, truck-and-trailer made up Motormaster. I'm hoping they go two separate pieces to keep things "uniform" across both modes. While Motormaster approaches Leader height, he's not quite there, and since we already have several versions of E.R. Prime/Nemesis/Laser/U.M.; they have kept both modes to a universal length, minus length, height differences in actual cab's.. Now if they perhaps made Motormaster a "small" double-trailer, like UPS or FedEx trucks we might both be happy, but otherwise I see our wonderful scale going right out the window or one heck of nasty backpack, which I think we all want to avoid.
  6. So Hasbro offers a transforming Spike and D.N.A. is offering a transforming Daniel with their Slag/Slug upgrade kit. If I'm being honest, DNA did a better job on the alt-mode. Sculpt is a toss-up, given the differences in the approaches.
  7. Congratulations on the find, could have made for an interesting video. My copy arrived today as well, just not with the MSRP joy to boot.
  8. Never saw one in the actual wild as a child, either on the shelves or in someone's collection but vividly remember him on the fold-out-poster/checklist. So MP Skids doesn't get the mini-bike either but the release of Reboost does? BBTS is showing Reboost with a clear human and mini-bike as accessories currently.
  9. I had always been under the impression that Skids was one of the "Mail In" figures, along with various points from other purchases. Never did get my "custom" G.I. Joe as a kid, and it wasn't for lack of bugging the Mailman. While it's nice to finally be able to get Skids, as a Honda nut, he's not complete w/o the minibike in the trunk, granted it would be too small for either the Wheelie or Daniel pack-in to sit on.
  10. Figures; with the closest Target to me, being an hour+ drive, and it's not known for stocking well on toys. Scalpers are going to get me on this one; thanks Hasbro!
  11. I doubt it's entirely your fault, but at least you're owning your part in it. I actually like the Starion/Daytona Alt mode, maybe someday he can scan another DSM and we can have the Cliffjumper/F&F Eclipse.
  12. Due to the Chibi racer and Sunbow asthetic, I always thought Cliffjumper was supposed to be an Escort, GT at minimum though after owning a "tail-happy" 87' EXP and his name, they missed his true Alt mode.
  13. Now this is a spin-off with legs, lots of them apparently.
  14. Reacher felt a lot like watching the Shooter(USA) series. A new spin on an established movie with some course corrections. By season 3, the Shooter formula was getting old, hoping season 4 will help it turn a new leaf. Ryan season 2 was good, but not as "edge of seat" good as the first season; here's hoping it gets a little better. Wouldn't mind a season dedicated to Ryan's "go to guy" Chavez, I believe, in an origin story, it would fit in the timeline roughly about now, wouldn't it?
  15. It's not for the Fastpacks, at least not on the old versions. Still awaiting the Armored set; and haven't transformed mine from Battroid to Fighter/Gerwalk.
  16. The Prowl upgrade kit from ZX Studios can still be found on Ebay, might still be available at TFSafari as well, I know their stuff typically sells out quickly there. The kit does cost a little bit more but you'll be getting far more as well. It's all 3D printed and painted, mostly. Shoulder cannons that move like the Nonnef, a chest piece to help fill some gap, center caps for the wheels, and a toon accurate rifle. While I don't have the Prowl kit myself, I do have their Bluestreak and Barricade kits; managed to piece together the chest piece, weapon and center caps separately for Prowl.
  17. So is the Max release ver. 1.5 or 2.0? Photos of it went up on BBTS today, though still no photos for the newest versions of Roy/Rick.
  18. While there is certainly no arguing over the comics that come packaged with these Pulse exclusives; I would argue that the Jetfire mold is perhaps the best bang for the buck out of the sub-line. Granted I only purchased half of them, including Ratchet and Prime; Ratchet was purchased for a "Place holder" since being late to the game I wasn't getting both the Medic's pack and Prowl/Ironhide set, SG Ratchet all by himself couldn't be passed on. Goldbug is a decent reuse of the Bumblebee/Cliffjumper mold but being one of the smaller figures in the overall line and still costing roughly as much as Starscream, leaves one feeling a bit cheapened. At least with Jetfire, we get a "Big Boy" with armor, that I agree makes far more sense on this version of the mold, minus the chest piece (too bulky), and more blast effects. Plus it's nice no longer thinking of Jetfire as a truly "one off" Bot anymore, I mean we know Omega was a Guardian, I just don't know what set him apart, aside from the whole Crystal City incident. Since SG has been used by me to mainly just grow the ranks of my army for Nemesis/Scourge's group, Jetfire was a must. Personally, I think the paint scheme works really well, though after your remarks, I see your SS scheme and raise you a Thundercracker instead; blue/black VS. white/red. Great reviews as always!
  19. Was never a big fan of the Insecticons; that said, with the upcoming release of Kickback and hopefully the others, I'm thinking the previous smaller releases would make great stand-in "clones".
  20. Pipes showed up for me yesterday along with the Seeker dou and Rainmakers, finally. Hopefully Blaster hits the loot pile this evening or tomorrow. Slammer is an easy pass since I have no Metroplex and the upcoming version isn't tripping the trigger.
  21. Anything Brent Weeks: Nightangel trilogy or his latest Lightbringer Series. Nightangel is a great Assassin series involving some magic. Character build-up is excellent and Weeks gets the nod for best Assassin name ever. Lightbringer Series, is a great world building series. The magic system is unique and integral to the politics and religion of the world. Again character building is superb, plenty of action both magical and martial. John Marco's Inhumans Series. An Arthurian tale where an idealistic King seeks to bring prosperity to the Commoners and ruins a kingdom in the process. Magic, betrayal, world journeys, wars, etc. Great read from a lesser known author.
  22. Really digging the trip down memory lane, along with the comparison to where we currently stand. Considering the TR Wheelie is a Legends scale figure going at Deluxe+ pricing, even the K.O.'s have jumped up compared to the other Legends K.O.'s., he's an easy pass until he is re-released. My memory said that between my younger brother and myself we split the Transformer collection as kids pretty evenly, though after going through your most recent reviews, Cyclonus was the only 86 figure I've had to this point, assuming I'll the other two later this week. He always got all the better ones looking back now; still has the Fortress Maximus that I did a sliding grab to nab from another kid at TRU back in the day; parents always seemed to mess up his large gift every year. He was supposed to get Fort Max and Pop's brought down another copy of Scorpinok, which I had already opened. So return trip's just after Christmas became a running thing with my brother for years, didn't help he was the Franklin County 81' New Years Kid either.
  23. Not really an Project Aces game; I recently found "Operation Wingman" on the Xbox Gamepass. It's a K.O. Aces game however, from mission briefings, right on down to controls. 21 campaign missions and 20+ planes; currently only made it to mission 4 and still flying an F4 (first real unlock). It does not have the "high G" turns, still adjusting for strafing runs. Where it does go away from Project Aces, is in Special Weapons and available slots, one is not simply limited to one special weapon but up to four, all equipped through the directional layout. Overall its a solid B so far, graphics aren't as good and the story is generic but the gameplay if extremely familiar and while energy bleeding hasn't become an issue in the campaign I can see how it would greatly affect the multiplayer aspect of the game. Worth a try, since it's free with Gamepass.
