    I watched Macross 7 in the early 2000's, right after I first joined this site. The thing that stuck with me, at least for the mecha aspect and as I have seen further Macross series developments, is that the amount of varied mecha was probably the most of any series. You had the: VF-11C VF-11D Jamming Birds VF-11MAXL Mylene Custom VF-17D VF-17S VF-17T Custom VF-19F VF-19S VF-19 Kai Fire Valk VF-19P VF-5000G VF-5000T-G VA-3C VF-1C (civilian model) VF-22S Sturmvogel II Custom x3 FZ-109A Fz-109F Az-130A FBZ-99G and I am sure that there are more, like the police destroid. This is the things that really sets Macross 7 apart for me, besides the fact that it was the most prolific, episode wise, of the Macross franchise. I will agree, yes it used a lot of recycled footage, and if I heard Planet Dance once more, I thought I was going to pop, but the story and the mecha make it one of the Macross greats for me. Twich

    1/48 VF-25? This is the first I have heard of that! That would be so ideal and sooooooo expensive, like aftermarket VF-0D expensive. Would love to see more info on that. Twich PS-wonder if they will reissue a VF-1J Hikaru

    So, I just got my first and only KO/3P masterpiece transformer, the Robot Formers Oversized Thundercracker Seeker mold MP-11. Man, this thing is huge! The build quality is nice and it fits together well! My Arcadia 1/60 35th Anniversary VF-1J looks like it could be a drone or a ghost booster for thundercracker! These toys are supposed to be around 1/48 scale, right? Anyway, very impressed with it....now only if they made Macross jets that big! twich

    Anyone getting/have gotten the new 9th edition indomitus(sp?) crusade box set? Watched an unboxing video and looks to be pretty cool looking, though I have no idea the cost and they are made to order, but for those who are into the tabletop gaming, it is where it is at right now. I have not played the tabletop game since epic scale was a thing. I had the space marine faction army, they were the Ultramarines and I had a Reaver Class Titan and a Warlord Class titan and a whole bunch of Land Raider Tanks. But that has got to have been 20 or more years ago. Twich

    My hobbies other than Macross include, Gunpla, Videogaming, with Sony since the PS1, but when the Nintendo Switch Lite came out, I became hooked. Gunpla became too expensive, as anything below Mastergrade would only take me an hour or two to assemble. I have many Mastergrade, R/E 100, and one Perfect Grade. The Perfect Grades are just too expensive to get multiples of right now with finances. I would go to the pistol range more and target practice, but even that has gotten way too expensive....makes me wonder if I will renew my concealed carry pistol license when the time comes, will depend on the cost. .45 ACP is too expensive to shoot a lot of and then there is 9mm. My main hobby is watching my 11 and 10 year old participate in Taekwondo, they both will be testing for black belt towards the end of the month and realistically, that is where my money goes now.     I like the idea that Roy would do that for Hikaru. I also think that the VF-1J replacing the A is a smart move. The only difference being the head. Now where did the notion come from that the progression of head lasers also implied increased armor? Or am I mixing up Macross/Robotech again?

    Any more word on any more of these? Question to those that have these, which releases are the Premium Finish types, i.e. the ones with tampogragh details instead of stickers? I think the max/milia VF-1J have it. Do any of the VF-1S? I wonder why we have not seen/heard of a VF-1J Hikaru with premium finish treatment, as far as I know, there hasn’t been one yet in 1/60 scale(sorry 1/48 DX, at $400-$500 plus shipping, you are out of my league...I am a broke hoe!) thanks, Twich

    I had the original Transformers Masterpiece MP-03 Green Starscream that Kawamori helped design, and I loved it. I know that the MP-11 mold does not have the Kawamori hip kibble. I love the fact that the Robot Heroes Airstrikes are 1/48 scale or bigger, and the mold is improved. Watching the Bencollectibles and Bots N’ Bits reviews on YouTube, I have a deep appreciation for this toy. Thank you to all that responded. Twich

    So, with the Robot Heroes KO Oversized MP-11 Airstrike/seekers, how good of a toy is it? Is it 1/48 scale? Where, other than eBay is a good place to order it? I have seen a few reviews, and saw another member comments on page 111 of this thread to include comparing it in size to a VF-31J with supers, and it looks huge! Which is why I would like one, had the original MP-03 that Shoji Kawamori helped them with, and that was awesome! Thanks to anyone who can help out!

    Vlenhoff, I like your display with the dark all around and the light only on the VF-1S and the (I assume) Perfect Grade Gundam Wing Zero. Question, when you were assembling the Perfect Grade, did/do you have an issue with the legs coming off the connection to the hip? Also, you hands look so much prettier than my Perfect Grades do, did you do anything special. Thanks! Twich

    If the Hi-Metal R VF-2SS SAP came with a stand that could hold the valk and the squires all at the same time, perhaps the sales would have been stronger. As it is, having to spend almost as much for a stand as the toy can leave a poor taste

    Personally, for Bandai, I would like to see what is next in store for the new Macross Delta movie 2, I would like to see them complete the Hi-Metal R Macross 2 Vf’s, such as the VF-2JA, VF-1MS, VF-XX, Maybe some of the Marduk Mecha for the destroid lovers.....but I would rather enjoy a DX VF-2SS SAP in 1/60. DX YF-21 Full set released, and the full array of Macross 7 DX Releases to include the Varuta VF’s Twich

    I guess that makes more sense. Most of the time we see Frontier Fleet, they are in real space put putting along on normal sublight engines, which brings up another question....How in the Christmas mother crap powerful do the sublight engines of Frontier (city section) plus all the island chains have to be to get moving, let alone stop. City 25 was 15km wide? Plus tack on the connector and Battle 25 which was another 1600m ship. I am amazed by the power of the engines of the YF-29, SV-262, which all rate to between just under 4000kN to around 7500kN for the YF-29. How powerful are the engines for the Frontier? Mind boggling to comprehend. thanks! Twich

    So forgive if this is just a stupid question, but I had always thought that fold was near instantaneous or very short time span. In the original Macross, when the Zentran folded back to the main fleet, it only seemed like it took hours, when isamu and guld folded to earth, again seemed like hours. I could not imagine being in fold space for 10 years for travel. There must be a lot of supplies needed or people go into some sort of cryogenic sleep. Why does this seem untenable from a logistical standpoint Twich

    Ok, well....I was thinking that they did a new production run of them for S&G’s and threw some thermonuclear reaction engines in there....as I recall, isn’t it being flown in formation with VF-11’s? With as big as the VF-0 is, it could probably fit some rather powerful engines in there to make it more in line with modern(for the time) valkyries. Twich

    With the previous mention of the FF-1999 that was in the ghost unmanned fighter AND the VF-0 NF, what kind of thrust does the engine produce? Knowing the meager thrust that the conventional jet engine of the VF-0, anything has to be an improvement. PS- IN the variable Fighter master file for the VF-0, does it mention what engine the revival version Of the VF-0 did they use? Does it make mention of it? Thanks!

    It is a mystery, given that these craft have 4 or more engines, seems like they would be very powerful. Also, the gap between such VF’s would not seem so vast in consideration, as far as raw thrust power. i find it interesting that all VF’s are trans atmospheric, but are just limited by their onboard fuel. good discussion, Thank You

    What is the difference/what is the definition/what makes the burst turbine better than the first type of engine? also, why are VF’s like the VF-2SS and VF-4 with multiple engines not given stats for their total thrust? We only hear about the main engines? I imagine the rockets/scramjet or whatever they are located on the back part of the VF-4 have got to have some significant thrust to them

    So on the topic of engines, I am still trying to wrap my head around.....what is the magic number/barrier before a variable fighter can attain orbit unassisted? Now, I though it had been discussed that when the thrust to weight ratio is above 10:1, but some craft don’t fit with that, the VF-14 can, but has a less than 10:1 ratio, but the VF-4 has the thermonuclear reaction engines, the rocket nozzles and the ram/scram jets on the rear of the fuselage, now that seems like some serious thrust (6 engines) and take the VF-2SS with its 2 main engines and then the boosters on the back....4 engines, the VF-11 is in the same boat..... is it a fuel thing? Having enough onboard fuel to be able to get into orbit, then maneuver under their own power? what am I missing? Twich

    So has it ever been explained why the thermonuclear reaction engines have the number scheme that they do? Like the FF-1999, know it comes before the FF-2001 of the VF-1, but why not FF-2000? The YF-19 has the FF-2200, but the YF-21 has the FF-2450B, which is hella more powerful than the FF-2450A that the VF-3000(?) had. The VF-3001OU812/FC2 is less powerful than the FF-2999 that is in the SV-262 Draken III. It kinda makes my head hurt a little, not a lot, just a little Twich
