1. does Graham really have his name as a valkyrie decal on the 1/48 Yamato?
2. you're right, the Fords don't look terrible but they shamelessly ripped off the last generation of Audi A4's and their new A6's in the styling department. they've been doing it with a variety of other cars as well like their wagon and the AWD they promoted on the Five Hundred.
3. I thought he lived his life a quarter mile at a time and for those 13 seconds he's free or something? I saw a new Lincoln Zephyr on the highway the other day and I must admit the backend looked pretty badass. the tails were a little too big but it looked cool from the back. the front is crap- big gigantic chrome grill looks like a fence in someones front yard or something.. a lot better than the LS tho.. kinda cool i guess if your an old man. confused me when I saw it... was thinking "what the hell is that?"
4. the 2001 Nights manga was really interesting and I recently pulled out my old comic collection and read a few of the old Viz paperbacks. great stuff
5. I've been playing this game on my XBOX on Live for a few hours just about everyday since launch and I'm still having a blast. I even had to run out and get a new S-Controller because I practically wore my old one out. playing it Live is just a blast- a lot of variety between CTF, conquest and hero battles and I love talking trash over my mic.
6. thats pretty much how it is in japan too. nissans, mazdas, subarus etc. all have a pretty good tuner following but I don't think they do too much to hondas. I had a 98' prelude a few years ago and aside from a few VERY expensive Mugen parts the only after-market hop ups were made by US companies for our market. exhaust, headers, intake, v-tec controller, springs, sway bars etc. ALL had to be bought from US companies like DC Sports and Neuspeed. had I bought a 240SX with a pick-up truck engine in it I'd have an entire catalog of parts available from sweet Japanese tuners like Nismo, Tein, Endless etc.
7. I'm just glad emajnthis joined the thread to spank around some of these honda kids that have seen a little too much "Initial D" and not enough "Top Gear"
8. whoa.. that thing transforms?
9. never had any problems here- i got the free trial subscription w/ a few games and when i didn't cancel in time and microsoft charged my credit card they were cool about paying me back. even offered me a free game if i stayed online. never had any problem w/ getting online either- always smooth and fun.
10. The "japs" eh? I don't think that is the perfered nomenclature. 340135 its just faster than typing "japanese". i'm not trying to be racist in any way and I appologize if I offended anyone. i really liked what cadillac was doing RIGHT when their new cars came out but now that the Escalade and CTS have a few years under their belts those pearl white cars are starting to look REAL nasty. ofcourse the XLR is still awesome but the rest of their new line up is starting to look really cheap and gawdy- nothing but plastic. not to mention the TERRIBLE interiors they gave those CTS's. my moms 95 maxima had a better interior than what those have.
11. i feel totally opposite about Bangles designs- I think they're the biggest breath of fresh air automotive design has gotten in years. the new 5 and 3 series for me has really confirmed BMW as the trend setter they've always been. Bangle is saying "cars don't need the taillights like that, the headlights like that, the trunk like that etc." the new Lexus IS350 is a carbon copy of the 3 series and the new GS stole from bmw too. and wait till you see the new Camry- its all Bangle. I think your sweethearts over at Acura could learn a thing or two from him also and quit making such bland looking cars the only "envelope" the japs are pushing in the design area these days is smoothing their lines out even more like the new Civic and G35 coupe. in my opinion Bangles flame licked, origami designs are the way of the future, not the conservative designs the japs are giving their cars. and don't confuse SMG or DSG with a "tiptronic" tranny. do a little research
12. what are Elises going for off the lot these days? do they start at around $30k?
13. I just love that beast.. its no track car but based on some videos out of germany I've seen that thing is no slug either what year is your M3 anyways? as I posted earlier in about 8 months I'm going to be getting a new car... either an '06 F-150 to throw the surfboards and dirtbikes in or a '01 or '02 ///M3... both go for about $30k which I think I can afford.
14. I don't give a crap about anything else except this car: you guys can have your mustangs and your supras... when this finally hits the streets of cali nothing is gonna make me drool more ---- Specifications ---- Engine 5 liter V10 Transmission 7-speed SMG -- HP 507 bhp @ 7750 rpm Torque 383 lb-ft @ 6100 rpm HP/Liter 101 hp per liter HP/Weight
15. you mean on its tail fins?
16. cool.. so it sounds like they made some improvements from the first version?
17. I'm just curious to know what the "best" version is to buy of the 1/48 VF-1S. I'm assuming the latest "Fourth Version" but I could be wrong. thanks
18. AWD quattro turbo charged A4 >> FWD Honda and the sports package costs about the same as the Acura's. but the sticker price for the car is obviously a lot more.
19. Maybachs are specifically geared towards those with way too much money anyway, and thus the price was made to match that. Honestly, there's no reason Toyota or anyone else can't make the same interior and sell it for much less. Maybachs are expensive simply because the price buys the brand, not the product. 337844 but don't forget although you pay extra for a german car you also get soul. I've never owned a japanese car that came w/ all the stuff they packed into my A4 like road hazard thingys in the trunk, first-aid kit in the back seat, Audi Sport three point steering wheel that could spank a Momo, full size spare, actually usefull tool kit and thats jsut the stock stuff. my sport package came stock w/ Koni shocks, 17" Audi Sport alloys and exhaust and the list goes on and on..
20. Leaving the Z06 Corvette out of it (which is the one redeeming performance car the American's have made in the last 30 years) and the GTO which is AUSTRAILIAN not American, I have an easy answer for you: Used twin-turbo Supra. Performance wise a 10-yar old Supra will destroy a Mustang (Supra's can actually turn). The shoddy build quality of American cars doesn't need to be discussed, and the reliability of the 10 year old Supra still eclipses previous generation Mustangs. Who knows how the '05 Mustangs will fair, but it is still a Ford... the thing w/ the Supra tho is that the ricers have really messed w/ the used retail value of them. a '96 six-speed twin turbo is still worth $20k or more if its a rare color. I was looking to buy one about 5 years ago and the prices haven't changed. thats just crazy.
21. At first, I really didn't like the GTO. My main complaint was a perceived blandness. But there is actually something about seeing that car in person (especially in black) that made me fall in love with it. And yes, it is a few years old, but it has very low mileage and is super clean. And I really love the interior in those cars. I probably won't get it though. I would imagine the next car in the garage will be the Shelby Cobra. Might as well add a fourth SVT to the collection. 337832 actually what I meant was the cars been out in Austrailia for many years now under the Holden brand (as you probably already know) so to ME it doesn't scream "new car". even though its new to our US market it doesn't look "new" to me because, well, it isn't. just my 2 cents. i heard they are fast as hell tho.
22. everytime I see a GTO for a few seconds I think I'm looking at a bloated Cavalier.. and I'd wait for Pontiac to release the next gen on those cuz that car is actually 6-7 years old. but to answer you question theres so many used cars on my list I don't even know where to start. I only have about $25k so that means theres nothing I could buy brand new that would really be worth a crap. used on the other hand.. I can afford an '01 Audi S4 or if I save a few more grand I can buy an '01 M3. I also really like the G35 coupe although they are a little too common for me. the Sti and Evo are both fast as hell and also sell used for around $30k but I hate how those looks and I hate japanese interiors. or I might just get a pick up and forget trying to keep with the fast cars. I surf a lot and ladies love 'em so I might just give up the race and go w/ an '05 F-150 just because it would be practical. however, gas prices are terrible in socal so.. i don't know what the heck to do.
23. this is pretty hot
24. what year is your m3? in another nine months or so I'm going to be in the market for a new car and was thinking of getting an '01 or '02 M3. private party sellers in socal are selling them as low as $30k now w/ 40-50k miles on them.
