I wouldn't trust A1 with my women or my doorknobs.

The best place to find state laws is the state police or attorney general's sites. http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/forms/index.html If you friend is so weak she can't cycle an auto a shotgun would tear her arm off. I'd say a gun is not for her. Get her a nice nice big cannister of CS instead.

If you read the description hes not claiming its a Diaclone but hes hypothesizing its Bandai copyright with non Macross packaging to that of the Diaclone/transformers relationship.

Dang! that blowed up real nice.

I think the 109s 20mm guns would utterly destroy the F4U. The Me262s combo of speed, high altitude and 20mm cannons would have given the Corsair a snowballs chance in hell. The ability to mount cannons is also what made the P-38 so sucessful. Manuverability isn't quite as important when it only takes 1 or 2 hits to tear your enemies wings off. That's all assuming the pilots are of equal ability. It was attrition that won WWII not superior technology. The military channel, formerly discovery: Wings runs a series of versus shows that are pretty cool. I've seen Spitfire vs. 109 and MiG-5 vs. F-86 so far.

I've never heard of them before but Majestic Studios is doing a 12" line of classic BSG. The Cylon Looks awesome but I'm not so sure about the rest.

Alright, what about ST: TNG? Their special effect is way better than BSG. BSG just don't have the budget, that's why they have these cheap actors/actresses and lame special effect. That Fri. episode when starbuck fight against those 8 enemy space ships, the special effect quality dated back to the first star war in 1977. Just a couple of beam shots, when I was watching it, I just can't believe how plain that is. Talk about "lack of special effect." Even the setup of the interior of the ships, ST:TNG is many times better. I mean, is it even possible that in the time era of BSG, that they are still relying on analog clock? Next thing you know, they are using Energizer battery. Have you seen an analog clock (like the ones at Walmart) in ST:TNG? I can understand if you don't like it, but why are you trying so hard to convice the rest of us to feel the same way?

Lead for The Da Vinci Code flick has been cast
Opus replied to Jolly Rogers's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I've never read the book so I don't know how Hanks compares but he's likeable enough and has played a broad enough range of characters that I'm sure he'll do fine. It can't There's something about Edward Nortor that I just don't like. I can't put my finger on it but he just rubs me the wrong way. -
I wonder if the original series stuff are easter eggs or if they're just old technology. It'd be pretty cool if the new Galactica were to run into an old series basestar full of old style centurions and raiders commanded by Lucifer with his crazy googly eyes.

From the looks of that painting there may be some hope of seeing some old school sword weilding Cylons in future episodes since it's apperant that they exist in this realization of the story .

I'm still having trouble. I get on about 1 in 10 times. Every other time I get page cannot be found. very odd.

I can't say I'm real crazy about that gun but it's better than the cheezy plastic guns from the original. I have to say after 3 or 4 episodes my main gripe is the stupid looking backwards muscle shirts the wear. That's just cheap and corny.

You're assuming I liked Mac+.

You may have a hard time finding a Hikaru anyway.

How about something like this, with the top 2 being significantly smaller than the bottom and the bottom having a long bit at the front?
-
With the box wing I think you should lose the four fins in the rear all together. They make it look slow if that makes sense.
-
Man that's the story of my life. I have weird tastes. If you check out the first page of this thread I drew an ultra crude sketch of my idea that should make it clearer. It really needs the long ventral fin to compensate for the extreme upward angle of the wings. At least visually, I know crap about aerodynamics.

If you're thinking of "Black Bart," that wasn't a "Blazing Saddles" spin off. It was a total steal from Blazing Saddles, as AFAICT, Mel Brooks had zero input (and should have sued the living daylights out of the producers of that pilot). I have heard, though, that Brooks' last foray into TV, the short-lived late '70s ABC show "When Things Were Rotten" (a Robin Hood Spoof that was the basis, I guess, for Men in Tights) was pretty bad, though. But then Mel's had more hits than misses, right? Nope. It's an official sipnoff. Brooks wasn't involved but WB would never let something like that stop them. The 30th anniversary special ed. DVD of Blazing Saddles has Black Bart on it. It's so bad I havn't been able to sit through 5 whole minutes of it.
