Yeah, I agree. The folks on Twitter think it matters when you do it; I think finishing belongs at the end, but this stuff has no place during any stage!!

We really need HISHE to have Luke, Leia, Han, Ripley and Hicks sit down at the diner/ bar and talk about their "happy ending overrides" (if not already done).- 39 replies

Yeah; they need to pull this crap from the market. Talking heads on Reddit claim "you're doing it wrong, only use it on unassembled models", but the entire point of finishing is to weather it at the end.

Glad I could get a laugh out of you Seto! Best 45 minutes I've spent in Photoshop in a long time! :D

It's all goof. I might have a few ideas on how to save it; we'll see. Besides, all my models are five different colors of plastic at times when I'm done with building them!! You should see the painting sessions! O.o

I have a bad feeling about this.

That's what I was saying; Star Wars seems to stratify cultures in the extreme, as opposed to Star Trek's "Utopia for (Mosly) everyone" theme. Although to be honest: if we had a scene of Darth Vader in full armor riding a bike down that street on a summer Sunday afternoon, it would be hilarious! That said:

Got a pic of what happened?

And then remember that Daedalus and Prometheus were the arms of the SDF-1 should give folks pause as to the actual dimensions of the Battle Fortress. It's one thing to think of the ship in meters or feet; it's another thing entirely to consider just how big it is in comparison to objects in real life that we see and know everyday. One of my favorite videos (SDF-1 @ 5:14, and the Macross Cannon @ 5:39):

Yeah, that isn't Star Wars. If it looks like a decent, cool place to live, that belongs in Star Trek.

Yeah, so would I. But putting your art up for display now is just asking to have it be stolen; they've even found ways to remove watermarks and such that used to protect art. Plus, AI samples stuff to make its' images, and I don't want my creations violated. Anyways, Reliant is nearly done; just waiting on decals from Chas (when he can get to them; he's been very kind to me!), a print I need to do of Reliant for the stand: (That I can do down at our local library; they just don't allow decal paper or anything else like that) And another pin for the stand; I'm thinking of looking at my local thrift/ collectibles shop for the TMP version and swap that for the badge to put on Reliant's stand (it debuted in WoK anyways). Nothing concerning the Legioss, btw. And probably nothing in the future; that's most likely dead now. Stay tuned...
-
Thanks. Most of my work used to be on Artstation (100+ pieces) until people started stealing it. 😠The death knell was when AI began sampling everything under the sun; that's when it all came down, and any hopes for recognition (and possibly a career) died forever. All I have now are my models....

For these breaks on the ailerons and other parts, this is just ridiculous. Bandai has some nerve with their "we're aware of this" line. Maybe the next time they do a pre-order, folks should just tell them "Yeah, we're aware of it" and go look at something that doesn't break just by being observed. Anyways, My recommendation is to use my usual suggestion: Devcon Plastic welder, and either brass wire or small brass strip to secure it into place. Bandai just might want to consider making the hinge itself out of metal and the tail-fins glue or snap into place on them.

Sorry I didn't reply to this before, nonner242; it got buried on me while I was away! You have some really good talents with your drawing and inkwork there! Your linework is just awesome!! I do drawing as well (at least when I'm able to focus and my disabilities aren't acting up and keeping me in pain!). A couple of examples from my end of things- Transformers: Macross (much of my work is done painting in Photoshop): A few in pencil: And a joke or two:

Mine's the 1/48 kit; I turned it into a 1/72 by using a smaller pilot and gluing in a 1/72 scale cockpit. I think the run they did for Monogram used shoddy plastic, to be honest. I had the red kit as a kid and it didn't seem so flimsy from my recollection. ROFL: I think you need a new paintjob and decals, bro!

Nice legioss kit under there! As for age: your age, or the age of the kits?
-
Just be careful of that blue plastic; it has a tendency to crack and break like mad! You may want to use epoxy or plastic welder to reinforce the entire inside of it.

Much appreciated, Chas; at this point, the ones I would need are the top main hull registry number. I can get the file for it ( I can do it up in photoshop to the size I need), but I'm pretty well dead broke. TTo everyone else: I'm okay at this point (as okay as I will be). Still reeling and still recovering; thanks for everyone's concern. Been taking time to get some rest and try to relax.
