This has to be, by far the ultimate jet fighter porn. Just when I thought it climaxed, it kept going with more! Catch it in IMAX if possible everyone, it is well worth the extra admission..
-
Or it could be Bandai just cheapened out; the chest mold for the 29 is different, so they could not directly carry it over to the 25. Whereas, hips between both are the same.
-
Is there a way to smash the like button 100 times? It’s rare to see a whole display room dedicated to only Macross, much less a very organised one. Great work @Benson13

I was just too focused at the toys on the shelf first time around, and only now I noticed the green helmet hanging up there doubling as the lighting.. cool! -
Another video review. Somehow there’s no auto-translate subtitles on my phone YouTube app (Youtube on PC browsers usually have that option). If I’m not wrong, his copy doesn’t appear to have loose hips or crotch clasp. However, it appears that the Battroid chest lock mechanism introduced in Alto’s Full Pack YF-29, is NOT present here. Going backwards again Bandai?

More concerned about the cockpit color, because unlike the official pics, here it is pure booger green..
-
That cockpit shield doesn't seem to cover the canopy properly, does it? Kinda reminds of the HMR VF-2SS.. but hopefully its just mis-transformed in this pic.
-
From the more recent comments in the video, yeah it appears one commenter copy is fine, but another says his copy has the exact problems. Poster of video mentioned he has contacted customer support (Bandai?), and awaiting reply if this is acknowledged as defects..
-
Not too worried about the crotch clasp, I think it was always something that can detach rather easily.. The extra crotch brace piece should be something that alleviates it somewhat. As for the legs, well, time to bring out the nail polish again..

Cool these would be perfect for my 1:1 Chucky figure -
This must be the first reviewer that runs through the entire transformation tutorial using only the manual & not the toy he has in front of him.
-
@Slave IV in addition to its design, it’s also a testament to both Yamcadia 1/60s & Bandai HMRs (now why not the 31AX dammit! ) were well implemented in their fit & finish. There are no obvious tell-tale gaps that show which parts come apart for transformation & this help sell the non-transformability factor.

Loving it! Recently I’ve been thinking the YF-21 has the sleekest Fighter mode, but seeing these VF-4A pics in both its anime & toy form again just makes me think it should be right at the top for best Fighter design.

Still in stock after so many hours.. which could be a good thing long term for WWM releases.
-
Bit of a shame to see the WWM prices for HMR. Unlike previous 2 Chogokins, pricing for this is as if Bandai is getting their stock into Japan first, then posting every box individually by EMS to the toy shops worldwide. This on top of the HMR base price looking to have jumped quite a bit more than the recent increases in Chogokins. Err.. blame HG?

The hip joints should not loosen so easily and turn its legs like a rag doll's, requiring Kiki's / nail / floor polish to tighten them up. Older VF-25s / YF-29s only had one screw and if I remember reports, the hips still loosened even if the toy spent a significant amount of its life in Fighter. So far, since the YF-29 Alto Full Pack release about 1.5 years ago that started this (and among others) improvement, there hasn't been significant accounts yet of loose hips..
-
No pics of any improved hips with 3-screw arrangement yet as per YF-29, but we'll find out soon enough.. HLJ just charged me, will be able to ship this out before the rate increase.. Edit: found on FB the most important pic!
-
Proxy informed my copy of super parts arrived their warehouse. Hopefully can get it packed and shipped by end of month before the shipping rate increase..

Yoyakunow, supposedly staffed by ex-NY people, still has PO open. Have not shopped there before though, but I remember someone on these boards reviewed experience with them recently. Payment is upfront, although if I'm understanding their process correctly, you can still cancel and get full refund by 26 June. https://www.yoyakunow.com/en/robots/12310-hi-metal-r-vf-0s-phoenix-roy-focker-s-custom-macross-zero.html

And today I learned the same person who did most of the dreamy Final Fantasy illustrations is the character designer for Stick and gang..

I hope whoever at Bandai overseeing the Chogokin 31AX doesn't get to do the SV-303 toy or any other new molds. So far the implementation of near everything that is different from the older 31 is quite a disaster. Only the excellent, carried-over base 31 mold parts in the AX kind of saves it.

This pic shows the landing gear. The rear doors has a pin which shows that it does open. It is likely the gear doors are integrated to swivel open & close, but just the landing gears itself are plug-in. So, sort of a middle approach here as compared to the VF-1 in which both doors & landing gears are plug-in. And are Bandai's landing gears finally white now?
