  1. Yeah not optimistic. After so many repaints, I don't think Bandai will bother with any improvements at this stage. These will be reserved for the next Revival version!

    Macross figures

I don't know about others, but Macross figures is a secondary line to me. The first are always the valks, and the figures are complementary pieces to the valks so the displays look a bit less mechanical with a bit more warmth? So if the figure prices have rocketed to even much more than the valks, then meh, easily skippable.
  3. I kinda think now, that international DYRL fans are the most screwed from BW-HG deal. BW can't bring TV VF-1s outside Japan, but at least on HG side there are other quality brands now like Threezero covering that. But movie VF-1 schemes are still very much in international purgatory and limited to JP only.
  4. I don't know anything Gurren Lagann, but its great & inspiring to hear a collecting goal complete after 15 years.
  5. Starts at time 14.00
  6. 'Because I was inverted!'
  7. Now that’s the true exclusive item for this release!
  8. It is too bad that none of the toys have hatches that can be opened to reveal missiles.
  9. Not a fan of Battletech, but this is cool trivia!
  10. Arcadia still the best chance for another attempt at YF-21 I guess. But they have been very conservative with releases, and we seem to get only 1 new mold every 3-4 years. At this point, after the VF-5000, I rather they move on completely to something else in the valk catalogue that have never been released before rather than re-doing the YF-21.
  11. It is probably also Tenjin who advised Bandai to keep the landing gears unpainted to get that white-approximate colour.
  12. That sounds horribly high & much more than any other JP online stores to ship an item of that size to the US. Essentially negates all the discount & puts it squarely the same as, or perhaps more, than US MSRP. I wonder then if anything Amazon.jp is worth buying to ship stateside these days..
  13. It’s up again now @Sanity is Optional It is Yen 2000 for me, but I’m not in USA.
  14. It goes in & out of stock. 3 hours ago it was up with 3 copies available, went out of stock few minutes later, and when I refreshed just now it was back to 3 copies available again. Now it's out.
  15. Available at Amazon.jp for a great price (Yen 12,232 sans domestic tax as of writing): https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/HI-METAL-Macross-Phoenix-Approx-Pre-painted/dp/B0BX2L8X9G
  16. "Zinc-alloy die cast interior frame" checks out with the other Robo-Dou products, and also the estimated package weight in their product page. Hopefully the joints are engineered well enough to hold up the weight & won't be floppy.
  17. I'm looking back at posts over recent couple of pages, and most of the pics in fighter have this leg tab issue. Hachakka's appear minimal though, so betting it can be massaged to further close the gap.
  18. The listed 24cm / 9.45” height sounds right if we include the head lasers. I thought they should include the super pack as well in its height, which would make it even it even taller, as the packs appear to be quite integral to this not-Jetfire scheme lol.
  19. Oh wow.. a KO Arcadia mold with God of Flame scheme! Very, very interesting lol.. And look, even comes with a ‘Mechanics’ version super pack. Betting it’s not an event exclusive.
  20. It is always nice to get updates from the persons directly responsible for the products & get a small insight into their thoughts. That said, Mr. K mentions that the upcoming VF-19 Kai is being made at a new factory, compared to the previous issues. I hope everything turns out fine and we'll not get a repeat of the recent YF-19 spate of breakages. At same time, got to commend Arcadia for maintaining the prices for these reissues, when the MSRP of every other toy & reissues have risen steeply.
  21. I agree. Hi-Metal is really a misnomer for the VF-0. Thin plastics, albeit very strong, & the translucency is even more off-putting for those new to the line. So far, the HMR I have with the most metal in hand would be the Bat-Shu. That one honestly feels like it could belong to the Metal Build line.
  22. Nice observations there @no3Ljm. The belly plates / side skirts really look like they can't angle back at all. This is another complicated factor on the proportions and now I understand even more why Yamato did what they did for their YF-21. Although Yamato's also have a huge backpack, the lower hip point allows the belly plates to angle back. The HM prototype is even more impressive in this regard now.
  23. So far from the pics the colors look much better than Arcadia's non-PF version, especially the undersides which are a very light grey blue as compared to Arcadia's white. The wings look like they are molded in that light color, before being painted with the darker blue, hence the slight difference in shade to the fuselage which is likely molded in blue. I do hope Bandai has opted to make the plastics less transparent unlike what they did with Roy's VF-0S.
