  1. Revival CF from Frontier should be the version best received by collectors: 1. Unique teal colour. Also yellow 'resistant', providing the yellowing is even all around. My copy has yellowed but I didn't even notice until I took it out from display, even then it was a pretty nice shade. 2. The angular cockpit canopy design. Small difference but somehow visually makes a world of difference to the rounded ones on the hero schemes. 3. The triangles! Bandai should never underestimate how many fans want an updated copy to replace the old broken ones or those who never transformed theirs (like me) for fear of breaking them. But this being Bandai, they are remarkably hesitant to release non-hero schemes now, even secondary hero ones get the short shrift. We still waiting for Chuck's 31E super parts? But yes, those awful swappable wings should go. They were not toleranced well, such that at least one wing if not both will always have a sculpt-breaking gap against its wing root in Fighter.
  2. This is a huge annoying aspect of Bandai plastics. Even cheap HG Gundam kits stay pristine white over the years, but the pricey toys yellow easily. I sometimes think Bandai purposely build-in this obsolescence into their toys.
  3. Based on google translate of that image, this will be Revival version with matte plastics, no surprises here. The armor parts will have new tampo markings. Hopefully there will be other, yet to be announced improvements.
  4. I miss old-school shooters.. So this is perfectly fine for me. Perhaps they might include old-school cheat codes as well. Preferably a secret code to unlock VF-1 for international markets. Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right then Select+Start at the logo screen.

    Hi-Metal R

Sometime ago I was trawling decades old posts on these boards and remember coming across how folks were buying up Yamato 1/48 VF-1s in cases quantity, for the reasons you mentioned haha.. I guess they were relatively cheap then, even accounting for lower average incomes on basis of lower average age of collectors. Sounds like really fun times then..
  6. The very first pic I took of my very first modern valk toy I acquired years ago. I was so impressed by it especially as compared to the KO toys I had as a kid, and the collection quickly ballooned, and grew even more into all sorts of other titles. It's been quite a journey since..
  7. I've been a fan of your work on social media for quite some time @Rodrigoprofiles. These are truly great art!
  8. Tsk tsk what horrible quality! Send them to me! I'll take in your broken copies

    Hi-Metal R

I see quite a bit of myself here and am at the stage of trying to free myself a little. Too much obsession with collecting, FOMO, and the dopamine high when purchasing & receiving packages but not enough time spent on enjoying. There's was also the fear of being away from the collection for long periods of time; an invisible chain tying me down. So I started to sell my collection extras, very anxiously at first to see how I would personally handle it, and the good news is that I don't miss them at all! The next stage would probably be selling the only copies of items I have, which will entail a hard look at what I really want to keep. That would require quite some mental fortitude.
  10. Yeah not optimistic. After so many repaints, I don't think Bandai will bother with any improvements at this stage. These will be reserved for the next Revival version!

    Macross figures

I don't know about others, but Macross figures is a secondary line to me. The first are always the valks, and the figures are complementary pieces to the valks so the displays look a bit less mechanical with a bit more warmth? So if the figure prices have rocketed to even much more than the valks, then meh, easily skippable.
  12. I kinda think now, that international DYRL fans are the most screwed from BW-HG deal. BW can't bring TV VF-1s outside Japan, but at least on HG side there are other quality brands now like Threezero covering that. But movie VF-1 schemes are still very much in international purgatory and limited to JP only.
  13. I don't know anything Gurren Lagann, but its great & inspiring to hear a collecting goal complete after 15 years.
  14. Starts at time 14.00
  15. 'Because I was inverted!'
  16. Now that’s the true exclusive item for this release!
  17. It is too bad that none of the toys have hatches that can be opened to reveal missiles.
  18. Not a fan of Battletech, but this is cool trivia!
  19. Arcadia still the best chance for another attempt at YF-21 I guess. But they have been very conservative with releases, and we seem to get only 1 new mold every 3-4 years. At this point, after the VF-5000, I rather they move on completely to something else in the valk catalogue that have never been released before rather than re-doing the YF-21.
  20. It is probably also Tenjin who advised Bandai to keep the landing gears unpainted to get that white-approximate colour.
  21. That sounds horribly high & much more than any other JP online stores to ship an item of that size to the US. Essentially negates all the discount & puts it squarely the same as, or perhaps more, than US MSRP. I wonder then if anything Amazon.jp is worth buying to ship stateside these days..
  22. It’s up again now @Sanity is Optional It is Yen 2000 for me, but I’m not in USA.
  23. It goes in & out of stock. 3 hours ago it was up with 3 copies available, went out of stock few minutes later, and when I refreshed just now it was back to 3 copies available again. Now it's out.
  24. Available at Amazon.jp for a great price (Yen 12,232 sans domestic tax as of writing): https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/HI-METAL-Macross-Phoenix-Approx-Pre-painted/dp/B0BX2L8X9G
