Black schemes are a bit of a funny thing to my eyes. By itself it doesn't really pop, but if it's a repaint from normal colors like many other robots or mechs, then somehow it looks really great, especially when put side by side. What I like about this Black Getter is that it doesn't only swaps the red for black, but the whites are now a gunmetal grey.

@Lolicon Lovely work!! I like the default glossiness of the CF 171, but seeing this makes me wish it also comes in matte!

1/48+fp's, 1/60+fp's, 1/72, 1/2k, 1/3k,1/100 and now 1/144

Purely on aesthetics, the CF 171 by far going by the colors and shape of the cockpit. This followed by the 17, and lately I wish Yamato had stuck more closely to the line art for the nosecone shape. The Alto 171 usually doesn't really do anything much for me, but your customization really makes it stand out very well here. -

For all the promo & bonuses KC is doing for the Battlepods, the biggest gap is that the Artillery Battlepods have no soldier figure. At least, it is not mentioned in their listing and hopefully it is an oversight. Otherwise, it sucks that a key feature of the Battlepod remain incomplete for the Artillery ones. Meanwhile, here’s the HK Post rate calculator: https://webapp.hongkongpost.hk/en/postage_calculator/index.html#

Couple of updates on Heavy Armour & Artillery Battle Pod: Heavy Armour Updated PO page: https://www.kitzconcept.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=61&product_id=79 Artillery Battle Pod PO link: https://www.kitzconcept.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=61&product_id=129 New video of Artillery Pods: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/YkLjENyUpoeR85Gr/?mibextid=w8EBqM The video also mentions yet another additional offer for the Battlepod, that hasn’t been updated anywhere on their website yet. Those who already PO’ed the non-artillery Battlepod will get both artillery missile add-ons as bonuses. @Pontus It is unknown if KC will extend more slots for this PO bonus from this point onwards, like what they just did for the Heavy Armour VF-1J bonus (50 slots), but hopefully they do!

These look like new pics for the ‘Heavy Armour’. As with the Battle Pod, looks like KC is doing a renewed push for both items to get more orders.. https://www.kitzconcept.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=61&product_id=79 Edit: New video here: https://fb.watch/qnEIPtDhp-/?mibextid=w8EBqM 1. Clown hands will be articulated, a first for any VF-1. 2. Battle Pod has new missile pod add-ons. Those who PO’ed early are supposed to take note. My reading of it is that it is possible the missile pods are a bonus item. There will be 2 other new missile pod accessories / variants, details to be revealed later. 3. Those who already PO’ed the Heavy Armour will get a whole new VF-1J free!

The Battle Pod does look like it has very short legs in some pic stills.. but in the video, I think they have the appropriate length. Am quite ok with the thicker legs though.. Meanwhile, my Danas arrived and am pleasantly surprised it came with bonuses which I presume would be for those who PO'ed early.. In the same shipment, KC also included replacement parts for the earlier issue of upside down modex numbers on the leg fins. They actually sent the whole leg assemblies lol.

I'm not really feeling the SV-51-Griffon mash-up, but I'm just amazed the VF-1 design is so versatile to lend itself to be crossed up with so many other sci-fi robots, and they look pretty good too. At end of day, despite many favorite VFs in Macross universe, the VF-1 is the one that does everything well - aesthetically in all 3 modes, the simplicity for toy playability & model engineering, and now the design mash-ups lol.

Yeah the moldings doesn’t look as sharp as it could be. The old Doyusha ones looks to have sharper sculpt, but I suspect these Tomica ones will be smaller than 1/144.

Perhaps Bandai is updating the landing gears to be white instead of silver

I have the Jada 1/24 one as well and am somewhat disappointed it doesn't transform into tank mode. But I'm more surprised that even the Hot Wheels Elite version doesn't have that mode too, since it is not difficult to implement.. -
Quite a few Yammie VF-19 Kai popping up at Mandarake, no doubt due to the recent Arcadia reissue. However, a good number of them are having cracked elbow issues, hence the lower prices of these in the Yen 20k+ range. Rather unfortunate, and Arcadia should re-release the 19S, F, and P since they should be afflicted with the same issue as well? But on other hand there's no telling for now if the Arcadia Kai will have the same issue down the road.. https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1252369364&ref=list&keyword=macross&lang=en

Yikes that price.... Arcadia finally breaking trend of reissues for the same price. Though I'm not surprised at an increase, it is quite a significant one.
-
I previously thought all these sudden spate of reissues could be due to Arcadia shoring up their finances before committing to new molds, but going by their recent tweets & production of both YF-19 & the Fire Valk, it also seems equally likely the upcoming reissues is just to have their new factory continue to train on & get used to Arcadia’s standards first. I’m not a production guy, but i’m surmising that a situation of simultaneous new mold & new factory mean steeper learning curves for both Arcadia & factory, so by first smoothing out production challenges on molds which Arcadia themselves are already familiar with to guide the new factory, is a prudent move. If Arcadia is able to have the reissue VF-1 & SDF-1 released on time as per planned without delays, then it might be that is when the factory is able to start work on both the VF-5000 & the Hargun.

Thanks Yeah painted landing gears is such a low hanging fruit but Bandai’s just so adverse to it. Nicely done! Vinyl wrap is so common on cars yet it’s the first time I see it done on toys, and it works well.

Perhaps all of them in a mash-up lol. Just only found out, but not surprisingly, these orange Ghosts are actually based on real-life drone the Ryan Firebee.
