Ha.. I forgot all about the Pose+ Tricharger. I remember reporting in 2023 the original release being delayed by a whole year, then a year later 2024 on actual release it kinda flew under the radar, and here we are nearly one year later. I was somewhat on the fence on this & was waiting for early reviews on it.. Art Storm branding being on both the Tricharger & the Garland is just them being the distributor, but the manufacturer for both are different parties and don't think they are directly related. One being Pose+ and the other Fewture for the Garland.

I am so used to Yamato's VF-17 Fighter proportions, especially the more bulbous front end, that the line art can look weird to me lol.
-
I know one of the stated goals Pose+ has mentioned is to simplify some aspects to make it more play friendly, but I wished they had stuck to a more canon interpretation on how the wings fold at the back like Sentinel did. The rear will it look more elegant that way.

Hellfire missiles bouncing off invaders' backs? Send out the Legioss instead... Despite the toy not being very large, it can be made to look quite imposing. (And just a few minutes ago, I noticed the shoulder sensor is mis-transformed in these latest pics. This will bug me for days to come... until I'm annoyed enough or find more inspiration to take more pics again.. sigh)
-
Same experience here with loose joints too. Also, the hip / waist lock keeps wanting to slide back up whenever I move the toy, it is pretty annoying. There's the criticism of Sentinel Tread's lower legs, but now I'm reminded their Legioss also has the nearly the same issues. There's no lower leg rotation, and ankle range feels very limited. It's a challenge to find some nice poses without having the feet looking dislocated or at some weird angle..

Yup.. Back then I wasn't really familiar with Gunpla - I happened to come across a modeling exhibition by a local distributor, and at that moment felt the urge to obtain a kit of an old transforming Gundam toy I used to have as a kid (found out much later it was a ZZ). The RG Zeta was the only one I found there that came close enough to what I remember of that toy, so I went home with it and if memory serves, built it much later. Although it didn't handle well after I was done, I do remember being impressed that no glue or paint was needed, unlike my very limited modeling experience when I was like perhaps just 11, being given a model kit of a car, and then could only afford the cement and couple of paint colors after skipping some lunches.

As much as I like the sculpt, Sentinel's really not much fun to handle in Soldier. It can be too fiddly.
-
LOL the RG Zeta was the first ever kit I assembled years ago, and I didn't dare to start transforming it since stuff would just untab & fall off just by touching it. It really made me think all model kits are that fragile in handling, and influenced me to cancel the VF-25 kits I had PO'ed at that time. Thereafter I moved straight to the DX to start my Macross collection.. Thankfully a few Gunpla kits I had that came after were nowhere as fragile..

That FB video has no sound, so couldn't hear what the person was saying regarding the height of Toyrise's, but eyeballing his ruler puts it in ballpark of 14cm up top of his head minus the head laser. Thats about the height of the HMR VF-1. On SentineI's, I was pretty sure its shoulders were all covered up, but not so much after all:

Been listening to certain playlists over past few weeks as casual background music, before gradually realising they are AI music. At first, I thought only the vocals are AI, but it seems everything - composition, arrangement, instrumentals are AI generated. It really mimics high production value, and unlike most of current AI images or videos which I suspect most of us are able to tell apart from the real thing, if I were to just listen to the track without any context I wouldn't be able to tell that it's something generated in just minutes.

I do hope Toyrise's Legioss do well so we continue to get other stuff inspired by Breaker's line. Safe to say Sentinel won't be releasing more of Breakers as Gate's ride armor didn't seem to do so well.

Re: the feet. They do stick out, though doesn't seem as egregious as other non-Sentinel ones. There isn't the hip rotation feature to tuck the legs further into the chest intakes in Fighter. I assume that's for simplicity purposes. It then looks like they adjusted the lower legs to be slightly shorter so less mass sticks out the back. Shorter legs mean stockier Soldier mode, so they mitigate this by angling the feet downwards to that stiletto position to make it look taller again. That removable cockpit module just reminds me the VF-11 now.

Cynical me thinks Bandai will not release the FPs separately for above mentioned valks, but release it as a set with the valk again. Seems to be a very Bandai thing to do lately.
-
Pretty reasonable - smack in HMR valk price & size territory. Amazing they managed to keep the opening cockpit in Soldier, and one-upped the HMR by giving integrated landing gears. In fact, it looks to be PT like the bigger Sentinel. Even the pilot figure is articulated just like Sentinel's. Given all the above, it's curious they chose to have the forearms exposed without any covering panel. It's such a Takara TF thing to do.

I mostly skipped through here and there, but there are some bizarre engineering choices. One that really stands out is how the hips don't even secure to the nosecone in Battroid.
-
Excellent review as usual. Pretty surprised on the limited range of motion on the lower leg, I can only speculate Sentinel wanted to ensure stability with all the heft, moreso when combined with the Legioss on its lap.

I totally forgot Evolution Toys ever made the Legioss lol. It's just so out of mind that I almost swore there isn't any until @tekering's pics above.

Mog’s Last Custom Mecha Hurrah. . . Most Likely(?)
MKT replied to Mog's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That's a very nice custom @Mog. The gatling is really the icing on the cake, and wow it's motorised too. -
Not often we come across Yamato v1 custom, this looks pretty awesome.

Forgot the colours are based on Takani’s art, which makes it even more cool to me now.

Found another pic online, this one seems clearer of the face. It’s a different face sculpt, this one is based on Rick Hunter in the Shadow Chronicles. Agree, the Jolly Rogers looks kinda odd here. What threw me off more from the in-hand pics are the colors. I was expecting to see dark, low-vis, gunmetal-type shades as per the single image put out by Toynami earlier, but now it’s just a light blue color.
