  1. Thanks for posting your thoughts @Actar, & happy birthday! Great to hear it stands well & its main design objective achieved. Though in the back to back comparison, it’s a bit jarring to see how much shorter it is compared to Yamato’s, even if the backpack is at about same level. Looking at Hacchaka’s pics, the only explanation or excuse that can be made of the short hip skirts, & then head scratching-ly lengthened back again with the super parts, is that Bandai wanted some of it leftover at the belly to cover the underside in Gerwalk. Otherwise, it may look weird peering underneath & see huge cavity at where the booster compartment is since that space was utilised for the legs. Gerwalk actually looks very nice in all the pics of that mode so far, but it is the mode that had the biggest departure from line-art in terms of how the underside & hip-skirts are being managed. FYI, I think there’s another 2 cases of broken head lasers from HK owners today, bringing a total of 5 reported cases since yesterday.
  2. It is hard to argue against Threezero's value, especially when they are priced around the same worldwide without paying costly shipping from origin country. I think the Yamcadia v2 mold that has somewhat depressed prices are: 1. Yamato TV Hikaru 1J, either with or without Supers. 2. Yamato movie Roy 1S, with or without Strike packs. 3. Either Yamato VE-1, or Arcadia PF VE-1. These have been firmly below Yen 20k for a long time - they have only recently broken the 20k mark. 4. Arcadia VF-1J Armored. All of above will come up for stock on Mandarake every occasionally. For both (1) & (2) they would be the batches that have the shoulder crack issue - I have a few of these and although the crack is there, the shoulders hold up to transformation & handling provided they are supported well during movement. A single VF-1 is never enough - there are so many choices and so many schemes, and this classic design looks good in every mode and deserves multiple copies on one's shelf!
  3. It is close and better in a few ways.. just that what I like about Yamcadia v2 are that everything they tried to implement works well, whereas for Bandai there are couple of areas that seems a bit overlooked or half baked, as already explained by @jenius. The Yamcadia also has something that no other mold has yet - the removable nosecone. It is something probably only a small percentage of owners will appreciate, but it is the one those little extra features that show Yamato or Arcadia valks are made by fans. I'd say it's worth to hunt an original Yamcadia toy. Some can be found cheap on Mandarake, and price not much different than the KO. The KO is definitely a step down from the original - you'd lose the precision of the original's mold which in my opinion is a main draw & must be experienced for every Macross collector, but ironically the consensus is that the KO is still better than a KC valk.
  4. Nice pics! And great to hear posing is not an issue for this toy. So far a lot of Battroid pics of it look better than previous ones that have come out - whether by Bandai or the HJ Web features.
  5. So it sounds like Yamcadia v2 still has the best tolerances & overall engineering... and its turning sweet 16 this year.
  6. Yamato says it is Roy's, but I just never considered it to be his.. always treated the scheme to be an un-named commander's unit.
  7. My copy is still at HLJ PW. I wonder if I should request them to open & inspect before shipping to me..
  8. Somehow, this is one of best looking Battroid pic so far as per article. But maddeningly, all the Battroid pics are taken whilst hung on the stand.
  9. 3rd case reported, folks.
  10. It’s annoying that valks without spare head lasers are the one that tends to break.
  11. Jada Toys 1/12 red Chun Li. Don’t know why I continue to be impressed by the packaging, which mimics an arcade cabinet. I’m still reluctant to unbox these figures lol. I hope Jada continues to release Player 2 colours.
  12. Hopefully the problem is not widespread. Someone already have their’s broken out of box. Edit: Another report of broken head laser.
  13. That locking pin thing sounds like something that could absolutely be engineered out. Thematically it’s like using a rubber band to hold a box & lid together. It’s probably the most un-Macross transformation step in Macross toy history.
  14. Yup the wheels mis-transformed. They are supposed to rotate 180. Coincidentally, rotating stuff 180 seems to be the theme of this valk lol.
  15. A few early Fighter pics by William Wong on FB: Couple of comparison with Yamato’s:
  16. Great to hear. I hope HLJ charges me soon too, whilst the exchange rate is still nice for the day.
  17. Look forward to your impressions.
  18. Well I haven't bought any TF merch yet. Still waffling on the Figma Fire Leos, but I finally have the Figma Cerberus & Albatross on the way only because they were still on heavy discount from MSRP. But congrats again on the RVR.. so many other examples that have popped up before always had some missing pieces. I like the colors of this Psylocke.. but her leg is impossible long lol.
  19. Cool purchase. Was it from Mandarake? I actually been watching one there for weeks, & surprised no one bought it for so long despite its rather good price. Always loved the fast paced gameplay & banging soundtrack of Thunder Force series, & TF5 was the very last one I played on the Saturn. So much nostalgia..
  20. This does look pretty cool, and the brakes actually have a strut to hold it this time.
  21. Haha I do hope the rotation mechanism is beyond just a ball joint, but it does look like just a simple ball joint.
  22. Even with the beefier legs, it may not stand up much against that massive backpack for dynamic poses, as the feet is still relatively small compared to other valks. The whole ankle also has to rotate 180 degrees for transformation, and I just hope that joint won't easily become loose after couple transformations. I feel a lot is riding on that ankle & feet design, so am cautiously optimistic Bandai has engineered robustness into that.
  23. That lock-pin is also another surprising bit. This is turning into more HMR than a Chogokin lol. Also, I hope those nozzle flaps stay on securely once installed, otherwise we gonna see quite a few ones with missing flaps down the road. Meanwhile, the packaging:
  24. So, a separate brace is needed to stabilize that huge backpack against the lower back in Battroid. So far, there are 3 partsforming bits: 1. The backpack brace mentioned. 2. The cockpit canopy & pilot seat. 3. The guns. 4. Backpack lock-pin. On side note, I'm also quite surprised the fixed posed hands are the same size as the transformable ones lol. We so used to fixed posed ones being bigger.
