Maybe one more Hi-Metal R announcement for 2017 with a December release (hopefully one from DYRL or SDF Macross)? Come on Tomahawk!

Strange how color can affect something. I skipped the Spartan release, but would totally have bought a blue one. Maybe they're saving the best for last? Don't they know I badly I want to throw money at them though?

Wow! So much for thinking there'd be no announcement this month, and that the next one would be a Destroid. Hi-Metal R: Expect the Unexpected.

It feels like we've already passed an announcement for April at this point, as they usually happen around the 20th of each month. So I'm guessing a May announcement. And, based on the recent interview with Julian Oreska, I think it's going to be the Phalanx or the Tomahawk.

sh9000 - looking forward to when you have a lineup of all the destroids. That's going to make a great display. Thanks for sharing these...so I can live vicariously through your collection.

Tochiro mentioned trying to get him on for a future SpeakerPODcast, which I think would be a good start.

Julian seemed very proud to have been a part of the Monster build. Didn't sound like there's any plan for a retooled version though.

I wouldn't give up hope just yet. Julian did say they were going to start celebrating the 35th anniversary of Macross in October, and that they had some exciting things planned for a full year.

I'm an hour and 33 minutes into the interview at the moment: The HMR Macross Destroid comments were within the first 8 minutes. There was a brief discussion regarding the Monster at 1 hour 10 minutes. Still a interesting and informative interview. Sounds like Julian Oreska's got quite a cool job.

Remaining Destroids (Tomahawk and Phalanx) are the priority. A few other DYRL items being worked on for this year, but no specifics yet.

Just listened to Tochiro's SpeakerPODcast EP.81 and he mentioned a recent JPIA TV interview with Julian Oreska of Bandai Tamashii Nations. I've only just started watching the interview, but I think folks here will be quite interested in the Hi Metal R information shared:

So, the Defender was announced mid-March (17th I believe) with a release date of August. Hopefully we'll get another announcement the middle of this month for a September release. What could it be: Tomahawk? Super Ostrich? Elintseeker? Phalanx? Or maybe a Queadluun-Rau Battle suit?

Ah man, the wait for the Tomahawk continues. Happy for all you Defender fans though.

Looks like the next HMR release has been announced, and it's not Macross: Xabungle A bit bummed...

This time last year The Monster was just announced and Regults were on the eve of shipping. Feels like we're due for something new soon.

When/where does this VF-1A appear in SDFM or DYRL? Very curious to know what it looks like without the armor.

Not here. Bummer.

Confession time: the VF-1J is the first of my HMRs that I've transformed to jet mode, with multiple references to the www.anymoon.com videos (thanks for those jenius - absolutely invaluable). It was nerve-wracking moving some of the stiff parts, but I got through it. I'm still amazed at the level of detail they've been able to include in the HMRs, despite being so small. Now I regret not grabbing one of Max's during the pre-order. Hopefully the price doesn't shoot up too much once it's actually released.

Congratulations on making it through the entire Delta series Gertalk Gang! Thanks for the detailed reviews, analysis, and all around fun. The discussions definitely helped put the Delta series in perspective with Macross as a whole. Looking forward to future Podcasts, and all the best to each of you.

Seeing that VF-1A makes me excited for a possible Max Variant in the future. Destroids first though!
