Gundam Show Thread - MSG thru Witch from Mercury
hachi replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Haha Filipinos love sweet stuff. When I was in Australia I got to taste their KFC and I totally do not remember the taste. On the other hand KFC taste also depends on the branch based on my experience. There was one where the rice meal felt like it overdosed on MSG (or salt?) and I swore never to order a meal like that again. Looks like I will have to power through Zeta, ZZ, and CCA. I have problems finishing Zeta, I seem to be able to watch only a few new episodes each year. @_@ When I started watching, the pandemic was quite far away haha- 3606 replies

Oh dear, so they're trying to save costs on hiring another actor for an important character while introducing new ones? @_@ It doesn't I looked it up in wikipedia and it seems the first ep director is Rupert Sanders. My expectations are just going into negative territory right now haha. Ghost in the Shell had the right callbacks, but ultimately doesn't capture the essence of the source. But it would be funny if Edit: Reading the description again, they mention only Salvor as the gender-swapped character, and not the other one I was complaining about. Hmm, interesting wording. Or I'm just reading too much into it.

Here's the chronological reading I stole off one of the article comments. The Robot Novels can be ignored, but I'm starting to have 2nd thoughts of a whole re-read. Just looking at the show's character lists, it doesn't inspire confidence at faithfulness to the story. I've read all Foundation and Robot Novels, so maybe I'll start on the Empire ones I haven't read.

So I finally read a real article about this (haven't really bothered looking things up before). And comparing with the wiki summary...

Looks great. Now the only question would be if the story/plot is any good. -
Warning: I know that this has some kind of 'fusion' flavor to it due to the abomination at the bottom, but hopefully it passes since it has most of the original series design in it. I'm posting this just for fun, but let me know if this is not allowed for this board. Ok so I got a pen tablet earlier this year and I have been working on this on and off over several weeks. It's not polished since I'm new to digital art and yeah, I did trace over screenshots to make the work faster. My main goal was to just get it done as practice for familiarizing myself with the pen tablet. Most of it was done on Medibang Paint with resizing done via paint.net program. I got the idea after I saw some Macross comic art in the miotd site, but those were in Japanese and I couldn't understand them.

Yeah there are memorable ones in the later sequels. The early part of the original Foundation were a snoozefest in terms of action (pre-Mule). As for the prequels there's more action actually because they're in the middle of the Empire and lots of friction between people. Whereas in the Foundation itself people were already scattered because of the Empire's 'fall'. They can actually milk this IP some more if they got the rights to the Robot novels...
-
If they introduce the Mule it means they will be rushing through the material, not good.
-
I may have to re-read the novels again. Most of the material will be from the prequels, as those contain the most action-y scenes. It's been more than a decade since I read them. I will prepare to be disappointed haha What are the other Apple-led productions? I'm not familiar with their output.

The computer and electronics super geek thread

Perhaps they didn't know it can be moved. I worked for some time not knowing that the taskbar can be moved. And when I finally saw a taskbar not on the bottom I thought it was weird, why would someone do that? And then I found a reason for me to do it... My beef is with those 'designers' who introduce changes and make things worse. The trend these days is the UI getting dumbed down, at least give us more 'advanced' users the option to configure it to our liking. Sadly even that is being slowly taken away. For most of my needs Linux is great. However there are some commercial programs you just can't have on it. -

I still remember that thread about people not getting their VF-31As haha. Now that we got that BW-HG agreement, hopefully Bandai produces more and make it available to international customers as well. -

My taskbar is at the top, I found it was less strain on my hand than moving the mouse a lot to the bottom (having pain issues due to mouse overuse). When I'm on linux the taskbar is also at the top, then I have the launchers on the bottom. In Win11 having this taskbar glued to the bottom is like having the designer say you are stupid as a user and only their opinion/design is the best. -

Thanks! Does registering enable you to search for images greater than 1080p? It's not in the FAQ but just trying to confirm.

So I used to get a lot of wallpaper material from Mecha Image of the Day web site. But it's no longer being updated. Where do you get your mecha (and mecha-related) wallpaper fix? Don't tell me about Facebook, I hate their algorithm. (And I also don't have Instagram.) So maybe Twitter or other forums/sites will do. TIA!

I think they're targeting younger audiences to attract new fans. It makes sense, from a business point of view. They don't have to create something entirely new and they can rely on the name of Star Trek. (Or not make the IP stagnant? That could be another.) Also, they maybe hoping to attract new fans, who will want to explore the other existing IP. The question is will the execution of this strategy going to be good?

This was in my timeline, but it seems it got deleted as I can't see the actual tweet. EIDT: I'm having 2nd thoughts about posting something that someone deleted. Feels like an invasion of privacy or something, although it was a public tweet.

And actually quite successful. Mari was never able to overcome being typecast as Minmei, glad that May'n was able to go on do other things. Junna is still young, and hasn't done as many things as May'n has. Let's see how she does in 5-10 years.

She's really good at keeping busy, eh? Either she's got really good instincts at what projects to get, or she's got a really good agent/manager. I'm not sure since I'm not familiar with the ins/outs of Japanese show business.
