My Hikky VF1J fighter was delivered today. And unless new Macross kits are announced, would probably be the last kit I buy from Tomytec.

Those are exceptions. What about the other movies? I am tired of getting disappointed. So far casting has been OK but the story side has mostly been meh (except for those you mentioned). Anyway maybe I should stop reading this thread as it makes my blood boil just thinking what could have been if Marvel Studios were making the Xmen movies...

I cannot have all the toys that I want because I cannot afford it all. Acceptance of this fact is key to contentment but yes, it's still hard. And I am reminded that I am fortunate to be able to buy these toys every time I see a beggar or a homeless person on the street. I love Macross and as long as the quality of the future shows don't dip below Delta I am OK with that. If they do go below then I have SDF Macross and Macross Frontier series to fall back on. There are other better things/hobbies we can spend our time on than anime/toys we don't like. So yeah it's still worth it (at least the stuff I can afford).

But time and money was already wasted on making those that became the scrap parts. It would have been better to minimize that in the first place.

That's a huge waste right there. I am aghast they tolerate such waste. They could use some quality circles, but then again it's a Chinese manufacturing company I doubt they care about improving quality that much...

Was there an English version of this post? I'm curious since Japanese manufacturing is known for quality control stuff and there are ways to minimize waste. I worked in a factory once and some waste is due to carelessness or old/defective molds. And even when a part is defective we find ways to salvage it and make it usable.

You lucky Malaysians and Singaporeans! May'n is just a bus or train ride away from you while I would have to take a plane. Anyway, sorry May'n, my money has been sucked into the HMR Macross blackhole I don't think I can attend that (or even AFA). Maybe I should get a higher paying job...

Sounds good. If Tomytec discontinues their Macross Gimix line I'm strongly considering buying these. And then maybe selling off my Bandai kit as my free space is getting smaller.

Are these arctic gear figures pre-painted? How's the quality? Never had arctic gear stuff before.

I've also been looking for a VF1S Roy fighter on the usual sites but no luck. I thought I got one but my memory played a trick on me--I had a battroid!
