I saw it today. Good visuals but I'm not satisfied with the flow of things. They should have started the movie to when Valerian met Laureline. Even though I had read the first few issues of the comics looking at it objectively it was not easy to follow. I would probably have been confused if I didn't know what Valerian was all about. The leads were OK, I liked Cara better though. As for Rihanna, hhmm, Chris Tucker was more entertaining. Anyway, at certain times in the movie, I would think, yeah, The Fifth Element was better. Sorry Luc, better luck next time. Edit: Yeah it's not great but is not Jupiter Ascending bad. With JA I was waiting for the movie to mercifully end and not waste any more of my time. -
But didn't it add to the funny moments? And it also answered the following question... How is she when she doesn't surf? I wonder what she does when she wakes up?

It was already out yesterday in the Philippines. I couldn't get out of work early so I'll have to try watch it tomorrow. -
I like the Gipsy Danger but not really inclined to pay that much money. We'll see if I change my mind next year (or money rains down on me)

Just finished watching the "Walkure ga tomaranai Live at Yokohama arena". It was better than I expected (because I had low expectations lol). My favorite singer would have to be JUNNA. I really like her voice. Hope she gets to sing other songs not from Macross Delta--branch out like May'n did. Minori is also good. The others (can't remember their names lol) were also cool. My gripe would be that there were less frilly/colorful/adventurous costumes (must be costly making them for 5 people haha). There were more singers still it wasn't as festive as the Macross Frontier concerts in Budokan. Over-all I hope they get to do more music as a group. It's not Frontier-level music but it's still enjoyable. They're fun to watch live so I also hope to be able to attend a live concert of theirs someday.

I follow that blog too. It gives me so many ideas on what artbooks to spend money on lol Re: GITS manga The thing is, adding the storyboards and characters designs will add to the cost of the book (more pages to print), aside from additional translation chores. I kind of get why they would leave that out. >>People who are in the review business need to start picking up on stuff like this. That would mean that they would have to acquire the Japanese book, AND know how to read Japanese. From a time and cost perspective, it might not be worth it for most English-language reviewers. From what I've read yonghow is Singaporean he can read kanji, so reviewing the Japanese books he collects is not a problem.

Added these guys: Ben Mauro - first saw his work in the Nuthin' but Mech books. His work stood out because I could tell they were inspired by Ghost in the Shell. From his site he seems to have worked on Valerian the movie, and his twitter is currently full of Valerian-related tweets. Mateusz Urbanowicz - worked on backgrounds for Your Name. But what I like are his sketching videos. He posts the links on Twitter, though he also has a blog on tumblr. sparth/Nicolas Bouvier - Halo Art Director, Author of the Structura art books. Someday I hope to buy his books when I have the extra $$$ and the space for them. If HMR didn't exist I probably would have had them by now -
What if...a Spartan gets challenged? These two toys were fun. Getting the synthetic human to stand in the pose unaided was a challenge though.

I'm not that moneyed Singapore is just near the Philippines and there are seat sales for flights going there. ^_^; Just to clarify I don't go to AFA every year as that post might have implied. I've only been there once but I got to attend the meet and greet with May'n and I want to do that again. You had to buy something to get in line for autographs though, which is want I meant by buying another one of her albums. The towels and other stuff are overpriced for me.

Nice. Lately I've been thinking of possibly going again to AFA next year if I don't have enough funds for another Japan trip. Buy her albums I don't have and have her sign it.

There's only 5 songs I see from Frontier, but if he wants most of the good songs that is one to get. Otherwise he'll have to stick with the Frontier CDs for the Sheryl Nome fix.

I just got my copy of Valerian The Complete Collection Volume 1, and these comparison pictures were also there. Nice big book, liked the color schemes of the comic. Unfortunately I'm not too inclined to get the other volumes as the exchange rates are awful for me at the moment. If I'm lucky the local book store might carry the rest. -

Nah they just wanted to sell the most copies with the censored version On topic, I wish Kodansha would also release Domu. That one should be cheaper as it's only 1 volume.

I think you'd have to buy the Macross Frontier CDs if you want to have the songs from Frontier. Your best bets are Vocal Collection Nyan Tama and Universal Bunny. The next ones are Macross Frontier Concept Album "cosmic cuune" and Macross Frontier ~Sayonara no Tsubasa~ Netabare Album The End of "Triangle" but her famous songs are mostly in Nyan Tama. Universal Bunny is unique in that it is all Sheryl Nome (May'n), the other ones I mentioned feature Ranka etc. For her non-Macross stuff the albums If You and Heat are my favorites.

Hmm. Ok now where do I find $200
