Black Panther, now available on home video
hachi replied to azrael's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Just saw it earlier. There are times I feel it doesn't flow well (the editing), but I think the movie has one of the best story in the MCU. Chadwick Boseman was awesome, Michael B Jordan was ok (I get distracted by his hair I dunno why). I enjoyed it but won't be watching it twice like I did with Thor:Ragnarok. And yeah I agree I think Boseman/BP can be a good leader when Chris Evans/Cap bows out.- 74 replies

Artists or designers you follow on Twitter or Instagram?
hachi replied to hachi's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
OK, it's been a long time since I posted in this thread. It looks like the list is too long now, won't be updating it any more--too lazy haha So these are the people I've been following lately: James Gurney - He's an painter. I've bought 2 of his books--Color and Light, and Imaginative Realism. Though I haven't really done anything with what I've read lol https://twitter.com/GurneyJourney 東亜重工 nivin - This is Tsutomu Nihei's twitter. I love the Blame! manga, and the first season of Knights of Sidonia. Not really sure if I'll follow him long-term, I'm not too amazed at the art style from his latest work Aposimz. I'm just trying to get news if they do a 1000Toys Cibo or Sanakan https://twitter.com/tsutomu_nihei RJ / lousysharkbutt - I follow this artist mainly for the Star Wars strips she does, though it only usually comes alive when a Star Wars movie is out. Solo will soon be in theaters so hopefully there'll be more strips to come. (But then I'll have to see that movie to get the jokes lol) Edit: I forgot also does Marvel https://twitter.com/racheljpierce Ian McQue - He is a concept artist/iilustrator. I think I got to see his work first on the Nuthin' But Mech artbooks. https://twitter.com/ianmcque 河夏優希 - I don't how that kanji reads, but this one usually posts Macross Frontier art. Which is what I follow him/her for. https://twitter.com/sl_Alisa That's it for the latest. I don't follow a lot because I don't want my feed to get clogged with non-art/non-Macross stuff. Also, I posted some reviews last year on the artbooks I got. If you are curious I have a blog but I think updates are better aggregated via twitter--my handle is @mechaspiritia. I haven't posted lately because I'm too lazy to write the actual 'review', but hopefully I'll get over my laziness soon.- 33 replies

I got my SH Figuarts Sheryl. It looks good, my only complaint is that there's no face for intense singing. I'm done with Macross figures for now, though I have a wishlist: Shery blue cloth version, Alto, and Mirage. (Or even Misa and Hikky!)

Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.

Noob question...What's the appeal of clear versions? I'm always puzzled every time I see listings for these.- 380 replies

Sin Hashimoto is the official composer. Although I really liked the OST from Aldnoah.Zero done by Hiroyuki Sawano. There doesn't seem to be any info on Hashimoto but I think it's hard to top the original anime series BGM etc. ON the light novels side, unfortunately I have been on a graphic novel buying spree and can't dedicate funds (or the space) to it. If I lack the space I'll probably just go for the digital copies when it's completed. -
Thanks! Thanks again! If they don't need painting I'll probably buy to add to my hoard of unbuilt kits

Do these still need to be painted? Any estimates on how big in inches are the finished product?

I sometimes still regret not buying an HMR Glaug last year, when stores had it for just 10,000 yen. And when I decided to get one my option was online shopping which was way more expensive. A tip, some major stores will give a discount if you go over a certain amount. You just have to ask and present your passport (and note this is for tourists only). Usually the amount is 10 xxx yen upwards (though you really still have to confirm it with the cashier).

I've decided not to get the super parts. Didn't like how they looked anyway. Besides, I saw something better (and more expensive) in the SOC thread

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0

I didn't like it. May I suggest something else? How about Sangatsu no Lion? (March Comes in Like a Lion) It's not yuri but has a much, much better story. It's the only series I'm religiously following this year. So recently started on Darling in the Franxx. I am not that impressed with the first episode. But I got the itch to rewatch Guren Lagann, which I'll do if the next 2 episodes still fail to make an impression on me. -
I don't think they're women. I can't imagine most women equating that 'grit' with 'stylish'

You could try Backyardigans. They're all singing but there's a story to it. Not sure if it's still on Netflix though. -
I've forgotten what other forum it was, but the poster described it as 'stylish'. In another forum the grit was being 'realistic'. This comic may not be palatable for hard core SDF Macross fans, but there definitely are some people buying this comic. I come across these comments because I regularly check comic forums for graphic novel news. As for me, this whole thing has turned me off Titan Comics.

I want those new Gundam Wing kits asap but April/May is when the HMR VF1A and Gundam 0080 Robot Damashiis are released. T_T Though I know I should start on that backlog of kits I have instead of complaining

Finally done with Knight's & Magic. I don't like how the narrator spoils future events, though. And it seems stuff goes too smoothly for the MC. I like the mecha though Now I like slice and life, but Ancient Magus' Bride was just too slow for me. Do things get more exciting in the later episodes?
