I'm looking to build up my cash reserves at the moment and don't have the leeway for another overseas trip this year. But if it was closer like Singapore, I would have been having second thoughts hahaha

Here's a video in English with some of the stuff you could buy at the exhibition. Actually you are not allowed to take videos but they did quick short shots of the venue.

You could only take photos with a phone camera. Though most of the pages had glass protection and you'd get glare. I only took pictures of the ones that really interested me. I mostly ignored the non-GITS stuff.

Buying Everything at the NEW Shirow Masamune Exhibition in Tokyo!

Went to the World of Shirow Masamune exhibit and got these: T-shirt, mug, stickers, and artbook. Was on strict budget as it was only day 2 of 6 of my Japan trip so couldn't buy any more.

Also found this in Uniqlo.

Here's why - Stage set up was awesome! the 1/1 scale YF-29 can move! Up, Down, Tilt Left and Right,  Ascend and Desend. It even have fire shooting out underneath

See Day 2 song list - Most of the songs are from the TV series which are all hits! Only the best songs from the 2 Movies are selected. There even a comedy segment where thet sing all the advert jinggles. Both girls gave their best with May's doing a crazy one! XD  Special guest - only on Day 2 - Yoko Kanno (Macross F's composer - songs, BG n everything) The Encore was super high - Nyan Nyan Medley. Same as in 2008!

 

 

 

 

 

 

How was the crowd from your theatre? I was at Toho Cinemas Hibiya and most people weren't singing or shouting or anything. A few brought along their glowsticks and that was it. Only got a little noisier near the end. I like the comfort of the cinema but you can't shout or let a little loose like at the venue itself.

Also went to K-Arena and got some merch. If I'd known it was possible to order online could have ordered more online. But you'd need a forwarder and I really haven't tried it.

Would have been really sad I missed out on this concert but they require JP phone numbers so I was never getting a chance. No live viewing in my country either.

This just goes to show how good the music of Macross Frontier was. After so many years it can still sell out concerts.

I wonder if they will ever open general ticket sales? Though I guess this is very popular due to the number of live viewings.

Yeah I don't really follow a lot of other JP artist aside from her. A far second is Band-Maid, and I did get to see them live along with The Warning last year. Getting tickets to that was quite easy even though it was still a lottery.

Is there any other female JP singer as busy as her??? It seems like she's everywhere haha.

And is this one open to foreigners? I'm not sure if I can get tickets to the Macross F live. The next opportunity for me to see her might be in AFA SG (if finances allow).

Congrats! I won't be getting tickets since it's too late to book airplane tickets and hotels without being really expensive. I'm hoping to get one though for the Macross concert in July. I was a bit financially irresponsible late last year and early this year so can't leave on a whim 

Has anybody gotten tickets to May'n's Macross concert this May? A report would be nice.

Finally got mine. I love that there are many full-page images.

Mayn's back on the 3rd day of Anisong concert. I'm not familiar with the rest of the lineup so I'm kind of relieved I'm not going. Seems to me more and more 'artists' are of the virtual type which is not my thing. Should have gone to past AFAs when flesh and blood artists were the majority. I had no idea AFA would turn into this eventually.

That said I'd still like to attend a May'n concert, but I also have other places to go to in Japan. My budget and paid leaves are limited so I hope the stars align next year.

Thanks, sadly don't have the budget yet right now. I'm planning to go back to Japan in later half of the year if I am able to save up enough. If not, I'll re-consider AFA SG depending on the line up.

You're not the only one who's sick. And it has seriously blocked progress on my gunpla building. Sucks to have wasted vacation time by being sick.

Anyway, would like to attend one of these Xmas concerts someday. The only (main?) problem would be getting tickets.

Thanks! I have some people in mind (ex-coworkers) who are in Japan. Though only a few I think have good Japanese-language skills.

Alternatively some concerts can be view in Cinemas (same concept as pay to view but broadcast only in Japan)

       

 

 

 

 

This one! I went to AFA once and there were not one but TWO big guys in front of me! Haven't had the motivation to go to another AFA since then.
