Finished with my Master Grade Astray Red Frame. First one. I cleaned up a lot of the visible nub marks, put the decals and stickers onto it, painted on a few areas which I think made it look nicer and painted some weathering and battle damage to it before applying some weathering pigment to top coat and let it all set. First of a photo, got a few more poses I'd like to try and then take some more photos of before I'm "set" for it being a single pose for display. Let me know what you think and what improvements I could attempt for the next project!

*gag* /noob-moment exposed..... They are just plain old stickers.... so confused. All the YouTube guides all give the indication that the blue backing sheet are waterslide decals, not plain old stickers.

Probably second to last progress photos of my MG Red Astray before I will call it complete and move onto something next. I couldn't get the waterslide decals working. For some reason or another, they aren't loosening off the backing paper. Even soaking in water for over 24 hours, the slides aren't lifting off.... consequently I've had to leave that alone and went only the dry transfer decal only route and thankfully Bandai gives a lot of extra decals, many which many wouldn't ever use so I've made use of that to put some decals around places where the waterslides were suggested to go. The little areas are now a bit more lit up with a bit more look and feel. Did some paint shadowing to try and give it some colour depth. Not really sure how this has come up... probably makes it look just a bit dirty but oh well. Panel lines and a bit of silver paint going for a chipping to bare metal effect. Last two steps will be the application of some rust and dirt weathering effects from Tamiya's weathering master set and a top coat to seal the weathering and decals down. Any suggestions on what to do differently for effects and overall look and feel for my next project?

Holy crap. So those 2 I have on order and probably arriving some time this week is a Strike with the IWSP and gattling gun shield. I also bought the P-Bandai Heavyarms Custom because I am quite enamoured by the whole gattling gun thing. This weekend I was opportunistic and picked up in a second hand sale a MG Heavyarms EW and MG Sandrock EW. Should arrive this week as well. Got lots of dakka dakka coming. I've also been thinking long and hard on how and where I want to weather my Astray Red Frame. I think I've got it now and I've been looking up lots of YouTubes on how to set up weather effects. I'll give those techniques a go and then drop the decals on and top-coat it and post the results. Only after then will I pick another kit and give that a start.

I'm relatively new to the Gunpla hobby. My mate had bought me a couple of RG units a little while back and I'd built them and didn't really think all too much about them other than they were of decent detail. The 1/144 scale wasn't that nice for me. Earlier this year I bought a MG Red Astray and gave it a go. Quite liked the larger size and the detail that the MG kit provided. I've put some light panel lining on and recently painted a couple of of the more prominent panels on the knees and shoulders (don't have these photos yet). Intending to get some top coat and also maybe a bit of weathering kit. Here it is so far anyway... I've got 2 more on order now...

I've gotten into Gunpla recently. Built the Astray Red Frame master grade. Really enjoyed it. Once I got that built I went and got some Gundam Markers and painted a few parts of it and stuck a few panel lines on. Tonight if I get some time, I'll put the decals on it. Next up is to buy some top coat and weathering effects. I've already got 2 more on order and being shipped to me.- 6025 replies

You've done a single vertical strip running down the front right hand side? I've been considering getting a pair to run then down the front two corners and shine them inward style of lighting on my cabinet.

Hi-Metal R..... their product line is only for the Macross series? Do they or will they ever make their 1/100 scale for the more recent series like Frontier etc? I accept that the DX 1/60 are different series... but is the HMR a 1/100 scale product line for any/all Macross across all generations?

4 left. I get it that it's an amazing size and would be a fantastic diaroma centrepiece but it's huge... you'd really need a big dresser or display cabinet top to display this properly. Oh.. and you'd need to also have no kids for little hands to go touching and poking at the thing!

2 weeks of delay. Seemingly no action taken by Nippon-Yassan representatives to update Japan Post of the need to amend address. I managed to call and was lucky to hit onto a person willing to help me from Australia Post on Friday. He interpreted "no unit number and/or street number" as not 2 items missing but probably just a 1 item missing from the address. He took the amendment for me and got it sent to the distribution centre. The package was attempted on Monday, I was too busy to pick it up on Tuesday and so I luckily was able to pick it up today. In my support ticket request to Nippon-Yassan, they stated that it "was definitely addressed correctly" and when I picked up the package, sure enough the label was absolutely missing the street address number. I took a photo of the postage label and updated my support ticket detailing to them the numerous phone calls, attempts to have Nippon-Yassan representatives to perform the address amendment to Japan Post and eventually getting it on a 2 week delay because of the incorrectly (and proven) label for postage. I asked in the ticket that this matter be taken to management that I should have some financial recompense for the mistake taken by Nippon-Yassan representatives to create the extra work from me as well as delay in shipping all due to a desire that I not have to pay for a second round of postage if it was sent back to sender because of the missing detail on the postage label. Anyway - here's a couple of concept shots I'm trying to do. Any thoughts toward what else I could do to improve on the concept a bit more?

What an ordeal. Nippon-Yassan detailed they've sent the missile effects set to me. A week later and seeing that the package had arrived in Brisbane, it sat in a location for 2 days. Nothing. No update. No delivery. I called Australia Post and was told that it was missing vital addressing details and that the only way that it could arrive to me was if N-Y updated Japan Post so that JP could in turn amend the addressing details. An organisation like JP, I would expect to turn this around very quickly... so a ticket was opened at N-Y and I get a response that the amendment request has been made with the post office. A week and 5 continuations on the ticket later with N-Y saying they've sent an update to JP there is still no movement. They claim that it was addressed correctly. All feeling I had was that the update request wasn't carried out. Today I finally got to someone at Australia Post who was willing to do the change on my behalf to ensure that the return-to-sender process wasn't carried out and I'd be up for another postage cost to get it back to me. Hopefully I'll have them Tuesday...

I have the exact same one in this link: https://www.manofactionfigures.com/products/robotech-macross-5-inch-1100-scale-transformable-series-4 From my reading up, it's manufacturer is Takatoku, branded as Toynami and had something around about a 2009 release date. 1/100 scale series and the unit is pretty much perfect. I pulled it out recently and tried to display the thing, the one and only problem with it was when I put the ball-joint peg onto the display arm, the peg snapped, I guess due to aged plastic. The figure itself is undamaged, the super parts are all a part of the pack. The sticker decals aren't applied to the figurine. Along with a valuation, where'd be a good place to find a buyer for this figurine?

I'm in Brisbane. Just a short 7163km south of Tokyo... theoretically I guess if it was a direct courier without having to pass hands, it could get here in day of sending. I guess we're just so used to a lack of service these days that it's so surprising when the service is such a significantly high standard.

Paid - Friday Sent - Saturday Received - Monday Super quick processing to get it out to the customer. Thanks AmiAmi! The VF-31F Messer is the only Delta Valkyrie which I'll be getting. Here's a very quick and dirty photo of my playing with it last night seeing if I can get some sort of dynamic flight pose going.

All this debate about cost of shipping for an effective $250'ish (AUD) product... Whether the shipping is $25 or $50, it doesn't ultimately matter. Cost of shipping for me is always relative to the overall cost of the product. Shipping costs also include insurance and tracking of product. That's important if it's an expensive item.
