Gundam Figure Thread - Newtype GN-002
General Rasp replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The best website to stay up to date with Bandai release is http://tamashii.jp/?lmode=en. The list release and pre-order dates for all products. If you are still looking for the Metal Robot Lancelot BBTS have their pre-orders open. http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Search?HideSoldOut=true&PageSize=50&SortOrder=New&Company=81 I would recommend getting the BBTS pre-order, the extra $30 isn't bad considering they are paying for shipping. If more pre-orders open later on HLJ or other webshops you can switch over. I pre-ordered the Metal Robot Strike Freedom on BBTS once Bandai announced they are doing the Infinite Justice. If HLJ has extra SF on release day I will pick it up from them or Amazon JP. If not, no big deal since I it will BBTS. But the GMFMMC Wing was bullshit. They never should have made that an exclusive. The demand for that figure was so high they had to do four separate waves of releases. I wasn't able to pick one up because all the sites need up front payment for exclusives. I don't have a problem with that policy but it made getting the Wing impossible. I am hoping some with be available in February for a slight mark-up.- 6025 replies

This is an easy skip for me. I have the first release they did. This probably means they will be doing premium versions of the other VF-0 Valkyries. I guess that good news for anyone wanting a complete premium version collection.

I call shenanigans on Bandai. Any "Ka" robot spirit gundam is overpriced. I don't understand why they charge so much. At least Metal Robot Spirits are small MBs so the price is justified.- 6025 replies

Thanks for the heads up. And I unfortunately I am attached to my vital organs, so no 00 Raiser for me. Plus I have always like the Seven Sword/G equipment more than the 00 Raiser. I might pick up the Metal Robot Spirits version from HLJ.- 6025 replies

My copy had no issues (knock on wood). MB Qan[T] is a beautiful figure, Bandai did an excellent job with the details. It has plenty of markings and excellent matte finish on the armor parts. For a slimier design it has a good amount of weight from the diecast joints. The whole armature for the GN shield is diecast metal, that was an awesome surprise out of the box. Below are pictures right of the box. Honestly the parts I thought would break are the sword bits. The longer ones stick out just enough to get caught on shelve or else on a table. The shield comes fully "assembled" with the sword bits attached in the package and was secure in the clam shell. Maybe some of the breakages could have be prevented if the suit itself was clam shelled in the styrofoam. I panicked slightly when I couldn't find the clear ring in the box. I was looking around hoping I missed it and just happened to turn over the styrofoam box were it was packed. The joints were tight out of the box and had to be worked a little. The sword bit connections to the GN shield are solid and they don't fall off during posing. And you will want to pose this guy, he is so much fun!- 6025 replies

I am good with HG scale for this. Hopefully they will release the option sets for it. In MG scale the parts would be too big and expensive. I have no doubt this will be p-Bandai and be plenty expensive. Definitely getting this.

As requested, sorry it too me so long to get something up. To start, you get a ton of stuff in the box. Everything is painted and very durable. This is a toy you can and should play with. Everything connects together via multiple points and you can make several different combined vehicles. Nothing felt like it was going to break and all of the connection points are solid. Strong ratchets in the knees and hips, the combined robot mode is very stable. Base Mode: For height comparison: This review sums up the Big Powered GV.

MMMM..... Kampfer. I would love to see a Metal Robot Spirits Kampfer. http://www.taghobby.com/archives/243496 http://www.taghobby.com/archives/243712 I will be adding the C1 Zeta plus and Code Geass Albion to my pre-order when they go up.

If Bandai adds the ratcheting hips from the VF-31 that would one-up the Arcadia. Those new VF-31 hips are so nice.

Very cool! I love the Zeta plus designs and I will definitely pre-order this one. I hope they do the Blue and Red versions with the booster equipment. The older metal composite ones are too expensive right now on the secondary market.- 6025 replies

That is not a bad price before the international shipping. I am going to have to try From Japan. I pre-ordered through Big in Japan and the shipping for EMS or FedEx was 4,050 yen.- 6025 replies

Big in Japan has pre-orders for the 2nd batch. https://www.biginjap.com/en/completed-models/19881-metal-build-gundam-astraea-type-f-gn-heavy-weapon-set.html FYI, shipping to Michigan was 4,050 yen through FedEx or EMS. These metal build just kept getting more expensive to get.- 6025 replies

I am holding out for Nippon-Yasan since I waited too long with BiginJapan. I would have jumped sooner on Big in Japan, had I known CD Japan was over $300. If there is enough demand they might do a re-issue similar to the Metal Build Heine Destiny.- 6025 replies

http://tamashii.jp/special/metalbuild/astraea/?wovn=en Well the Metal Build Astraea is on the "I MUST BUY IT!" list. I was interested in getting it when Bandai made the announcement a couple of months ago but wasn't completely sold. In the manga the suit gradually gains more equipment which is a key part in story and makes this Gundam special. Since Bandai is including every single piece from the manga plus some (I don't remember if the suit having four shields or two proto-GN Swords) I am definitely pre-ordering it. Bandai made the right move waiting two or three years to release this figure and did not release the different weapons as "sets". It is always appreciated when Bandai does not hold back on the accessorizes for these expensive figures. The number of different options and no worrying of "will there be other weapon sets later or reissues that includes different weapons" makes the price worth it. This is going to be another Metal Build figure that I am really looking forward to.- 6025 replies

That is fair. I have gone through Nippon Yasan which isn't bad, but I hate paying for their shipping. The proxy sites aren't bad either but extra fees suck.- 6025 replies
