Gotta say my CF VF-1A and Hik's VF-1J feel about the same quality wise. No obviously differing joint stiffness or anything. The right side headlaser does like to pop out some when I handle the head too much, but meh. It goes back in just fine. Left the VF-1A in battroid mode, but the J is in Gerwalk and nothing popped off or anything. Even had tested the tail when just plain fiddling with it and that seemed fine. And, yeah. Millia's is a web exclusive, Max is a general release. Kind of annoying given he's out and she's not out until March, IIRC.

I've noticed the shoulder tightness, and it is vaguely concerning. I try to lightly roll the shoulder joint to get it a bit loosened up, then move it into place. That and in general worked it around a little to get a feel for it when my VF-1A and VF-1J arrived. Keeping an eye on things while moving it hasn't shown any signs of stressing, but I definitely keep that one guy's VF-1S in mind with that part. Shame, since otherwise these are amazing and I haven't had a single concern over their sturdiness.

To be honest I like the white. It helps distinguish it from other releases and looks pretty nice in its own right.
-
It's definitely sound advice. At least open it up, check the trays for anything obviously missing or broken. Maybe pop the plastic open for a closer look if you want then put it all away. It'll all go back in just fine, so no harm in looking it over except a few minutes of your time.

Just got my payment request as well. Toot. I have to wait for the Iron Man mk 3, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and a few other things so I really shouldn't ship it and the second VF-1A until the end of the month.

Or sometimes they get angry and close your account. The stories I hear of AmiAmi and their seemingly bi-polar support has made me avoid them so far. HLJ, NY, MyKombini, or just plain using Amazon have all worked out nicely so far.
-
If it makes you feel any better I didn't even have any of my pre-ordered HM-Rs yet when I pre-ordered two of the missile effect parts.
-
Weirdest thing, I only got my VF-1A and VF-1J on Monday yet somehow I just pre-ordered another VF-1A to go out with my Max's VF-1J and other November goodies. What the hell just happened?
-
Wow, just got my hands on some VF-1s after having had the Glaug for a while. It's rather surprising just how nice they are despite the small size, and I'm already having to resist the urge to get a second VF-1A just to have more of the damned things. Makes me glad I'd already pre-ordered Max and Millia's VF-1Js. Now I just need to hope they do some sort of re-release of Hikaru's VF-1S and separate FAST Packs finally.

As of this moment (~7 AM Eastern) HLJ has pre-orders open on Max. http://hlj.com/product/BANN07904/Act

Myself, I'd love to have side covers, handsets, and extra weapon sets. Anything else would be gravy after that much. An Armored Gerwalk valk release would be absolutely amazing and I wouldn't argue against the VF-1SR either, or any other 'obscure' variant valks that give more choice outside of the standard Skull Team/Grunt/ThrowABoneorTwo set of options.
-
As I understand it, the issue was pretty much the loose wing joints and the hardpoints for the weapons themselves being a bit loose. Could be wrong, however. I never heard of any beyond those, let alone any kind of catastrophic failure like the VF-0* shoulders.
-
It's driving me nuts because, like you did, I've been comparing the one that fits in right to the one that doesn't and everything is the same. Oh well.
-
I just got my SV-51 Nora type, and I'm wondering if there's any particular trick to getting the hands tucked into their cubby slots on the leg. In fighter mode, one sits normally in its place, but the other seems to 'spring' back out slightly, with the cover not sitting flush to the leg.
-
Since I never saw it mentioned at all in the thread, how far is it ideal to loosen them? Aren't there two screws per shoulder, too? Should both be loosened, or only one pair? Hell, while I'm thinking about it, what's the best way to get the arms out in order to get at the shoulders?
-
Had you loosened the screws when you initially got it, or any other special percaution? I mean, I'm not planning to be cruel to the Shin 0A + Ghost if I get it, and it'll spend its days most likely in Fighter mode with brief spans in Gerwalk, but I'd definitely like to know that this thing isn't going to lose its arms on me if I handle/transform it. Judging by re-reading all the threat, the timing implies that they should have the new arms. The POM thing ended up being a misunderstanding, to the lack of it on the materials listing for it doesn't say anything.
-
You sure on this? I was planning to grab a VF-0A + Ghost set soon 'cause I'd heard they had the fixed shoulders like the VF-0S + Ghost did. I'd prefer the VF-0A version of the set for the coloration, but if they're still prone to breakage it'd be pointless to get a toy that's inevitably going to break in a critical manner.

I posted in the "Wanted" forum but it might also be worth while posting it here... I'm looking to get the Strike Cannon (not the entire FAST pack, just the cannon attachment) and possibly single-mount RMS-1 missiles (not the dual rack) for the 1/48th VF-1J "Stealth" Valkyrie. Please PM me on this matter if you can help.

He doesn't deserve a quick death. What he does deserve is more punishment from Cagalli. 320168[/snapback] Atleast he got the Bright Noah Treatment from Cagalli before he died. -

At that range, a shot from the belly gun would of done more then just blow Destiny in half... also, ZAFT's Gundams still have the cockpit in the middle of the abdomen, not the top of the chest, so it's quite likely Kira would of killed Shinn.. not something he was willing to do. Kira's intention in that fight was, from my perceptions, to keep Shinn/Destiny busy so that Cagalli could get away. Making it quite clear he's dealing with not only the revived Freedom, but its 'ghost' of a pilot is one hell of a way to make sure that Shinn's attention was on him, and not McBling Gundam. While yes, rationally it is better for Kira to have killed Shinn on the spot (and as anti-climactic as it would of been, it'd of been nice to see. Would show that Heine isn't alone in the "Badass ace pilot making stupid n00b mistakes" department) I think it's been shown quite well by now that Kira is not entirely rational and goes to great pains not to kill someone if its avoidable. He made every effort he could to find a way of simply disabling the Destroy unit Stellar was piloting until it became obvious that one, he wouldn't be able to, and two, that Shinn's stupid ass was was too busy going "OMG TEH STELLARZ " to notice he was about to get vaporized.. Hell, even with the underpowered (relatively) Strike he was still shooting only to wound while defending the Eternal. -
My single favorite line of the new season has to be when Brian was left in charge of the kids. "I DON'T HAVE TO LISTEN TO YOU! YOU'RE A DOG! YOU DON'T HAVE A SOOOOUL!" "... ... Ouch."

The way I see it, Cagalli was lost. Before, she had to fight to do what was right, but in this case that would mean fighting her own people. How many of you could fight your own countrymen in a war without feeling ANYTHING about it? Cagalli was whiny, yes.. but she was lost and ineffective, and she /knew/ it. But, when she returned to Orb and found it under attack, and found out her father had left a will and testament to her.. A means to protect her country when it needed a protector most, she decided to take it. She didn't spin a 180, she just had something to focus on. And, once Jona was out of the way (and arguably even before that, given how well trained the Murasame squads with her apparently are..) she had the ability to defend her homeland the way she wanted to originally. Even I found Cagalli to be obnoxious during most of the series, but its been a consistant obnoxiousness due to a set of environmental conditions that have subsided. She's gone from wandering and ineffective to having a specific goal and the means to reach that goal. Going from "How do I get Orb to stop being the EAF's bitch lapdog?" to "I need to get these jackasses OFF my lawn!" tends to help you get your focus back.
