  1. Bandai - With all the Macross reissues they're releasing you'd be hard pressed to find ones that aren't too expensive. Although, you're getting the same old tried and true VF-1 design that Bandai has used for the last 20 years, it's the kind of toy that you'd let your eight year old nephew play with (and not be too worried about it getting broken). From what it's worth they're well worth the price, personally I think they tend to be loved by the older crowd (sorry to step on some toes here).I guess you can say they had the monopoly on Macross toys covered (about a decade ago). Toynami - I don't have one and after getting my 1/48 Fast Packs I don't think I'd EVER buy one. But if Yamato was never around I'd probably have a few of those MPC's in my room. I gotta give em credit though.......for all it's worth they're sure making Robotech (and some Macross) fans happy. Yamato - They're the present (and possibly the future) of Macross toys. A wide variety of scales from three different series' in the Macross universe. Excellent sculpts that much closer to the lineart (and the Hory Froating Head's mindset) than Bandai and Toynami's. Although, these are very playable they're more for display purposes. Don't go looking for the durability of a Bandai valkyrie. With the release of the 1/48 Fast Packs there isn't a better time to be a Macross collector. The future is also looking great for future Macross toys under the Yamato license. As Captain Picard once said...........ah...........just read the last part of my signature.
  2. Here's some helpful advice.....keep the individual Micro Missle's on the sprue. They're not worth the trouble because they NEVER stay in place. Once you slip on the Missle Pod covers they already start to come off their placements.
  3. Does the video stop at 56 seconds for anyone else? Actually.....around 56 seconds it loops to the beginning. Why are those kids flying in space? Hahahahaha. The Unicron sculpt does look like it's straight from Armada....nice work.
  4. Do you plan on any more mods for the YF-21? How long did it take you to finish the hand mods? B)
  5. Yeah.......that's sounds great and all. But I lost love for the series after Mega Man 3 came out. IMHO you can't beat the first three for the NES, and Mega Man X wasn't too bad also. If they can revamp the engine for another Mega Man Legends I might be interested. B)
  6. BTW......in Battroid Mode the Fast Packs automatically make the figure lean backwards (even IF the hatch clip is installed). You gotta do some extra leg posing to get a great looking stance (looks like I have a bit of work to do). Once again....GREAT work Yamato! B)
  7. I just got my 2 sets today (Thanks Kevin). Lemme tell you.....Yamato really did an excellent job with these sculpts, even the interior detailing on the Fast Pack engine looks great. A couple of minor tidbits though: In Fighter Mode the weight of the FP's puts a strain on the rear wheel wells. There are some times when I'm rolling the Valkyrie foward and the rear wheels collapse inward. Once again were stuck with the horrible gunpod ground clearance that's remeniscent of the 1/60 line (as indicated in photo). The peg holes that're used to keep the arm armors are really flimsy. Unless I grasp the leg armors together (which I have to do MUCH more with Roy' VF-1S) the gunpod is prone to collapse. All in all....it's damned beautiful. B)
  8. When I take a look at the 20th Anniversary Prime I think it's a good mix of diecast and plastic. As long as someone takes the time and make the right decision's into their work anything can look beautiful. B)
  9. RIP John Ritter. Three's Company was also one of my FAVORITE show's for it's time. Seeing those eavesdropped conversations between the three of them and Mr. Roper (or Mr. Furly) were comedy gold. You'll definently be missed.............
  10. Switch the Red into Blue and VIOLA! Max appears.
  11. I love the look......it reminds me of something I'd see in official lineart books. What's next on the drawing board mitty66?
  12. Whoa. [/Neo] What other figures have been sculpted by Hiroki Hayashi? I have never seen the anime female (in terms of facial expression) captured in a doll like that. Wow. B)
  13. How's it going wolverine59? If everything goes as expected (and the FEDEX confirmation number is up to date) I should have two sets of Fast Packs at my doorstep later today. Once I'm through drooling at the latest Yamato goodness I'll take a bunch of pics (of my Hikaru and Roy 1/48's).
  14. Jolly Rogers....where'd you find that Alex Ross piece? Hahahahaahahaha...the AGD is so damned funny. B) Props to Lance and Gary.
  15. Actually. It's one of the deleted scenes from Volume Two of the Family Guy DVD Set, I don't think it ever aired on nationwide TV.
  16. Any chance you would know of a link to a synopsis of Frank Miller's Batman: Year One?!?! I was SO hoping on Patrick Stewart to play the part of Mr. Freeze. Sigh. "Mercy.............Make it so!"
  17. You know you're a pop culture icon when you've made it to an episode of the Family Guy (j/k).
  18. I couldn't care less about Reign of Fire, after seeing his performances in Amercian Psycho and Equilibrium I think he's the perfect choice for Bruce Wayne. B)
  19. Hey treatment? Where in CA are you? (hopes the store is IN Norcal)
  20. Christian Bale (Equilibrium) has been cast in the starring role of Bruce Wayne in Warner Brothers' upcoming new Batman movie, to be directed by Christopher Nolan and produced by Emma Thomas, the studio announced on Sept. 11. Jeff Robinov, president of production for Warner Brothers Pictures, made the surprising announcement in a press release. Principal photography on the film is expected to begin in early 2004. The movie is written by David Goyer (Blade) and Nolan (Insomnia) and will follow the early career of The Dark Knight, the studio said. "What I see in Christian is the ultimate embodiment of Bruce Wayne," Nolan said in a statement. "He has exactly the balance of darkness and light that we were looking for." Bale has starred in Reign of Fire, Little Women, Portrait of a Lady, Metroland, American Psycho and Laurel Canyon. News of Bale's casting comes in the wake of reports that the studio had recently held a "bake-off" of virtually all eligible young actors in Hollywood for the coveted role. British-born Bale joins Michael Keaton, George Clooney and Val Kilmer as the latest actor to put on the cowl and cape. The upcoming Batman film will be the fifth in franchise.
