There really isn't enough news on this thread for a figure line with so many releases. Anyway I was on Hlj and noticed that there is a preorder for a figma guyver 2 fm. It says it's one from the manga, which must take place sometime after all the anime, ova, and movies ended. I have never read the manga in hopes an anime version would come out with at least an ending, but I thought the figure looked really great so I had to preorder it anyway. Hopefully more guyver figmas are on the way. I also have the guyver 1 figma to go with it and thought it was just a one off thing.

My daughter and I loved the first one cheese and all, can't wait for the next one. The suits toward the beginning of the film looked very anime for a live action film, especially around the ankle area.

Ghost in the Shell Live Action - March 31, 2017
Big s replied to Mechinyun's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
For something as small as the eyes they probably don't need the blue or green paints for previs work. If it ends up something that needs to be erased or replaced like a cybernetic arm they most likely would take those steps. They may also be doing away with those eyes for more realism. On an agent for a secret government branch they really stand out, like a comander in a one piece thong bathing suit.- 751 replies

The LA anime expo announced Kawamori as a guest, so now the question is that since last year it was a big robotech thing will be talk much about that or just talk about Delta, or maybe we'll get some surprising news that Harmony Gold worked out a deal to let all the Macross stuff come to the US. I know, wishful thinking🙃

The eyes themselvesare enough for tracking for cgi due to the color contrast. The ones for deadpool were tracked by the area around the white eyes on the mask, other films have done cgi eye additions without the help of green or blue pants. Not sure if he will get different eyes in this or maybe a prosthetic for later, later production pictures and footage will give us a better idea of what direction they go. Either way it's looking more believable as an actual film.- 751 replies

It's wave so I doubt extras will be included.

The tail fins on the Roy look like the sprue is connected wher it's painted black. Some times a quick fix for that situation is using a black sharpie over the cut mark and dull coat or gloss if it needs to be shiny.

I hope they stick with old school Macross until it's all done, then maybe Macross 2 or plus

I did say closer to the source material, not an exact copy. The new film turtles are almost twice as big as they were in the old days and they are very hard to look at. Part of the what made me love them as a kid was that they were short and almost cute, something you don't expect to kick anyone's butt. The other thing here from the trailers that I have problem with is the over use of explosions and slow mo. None of the previews show what they physically can do. And just because the comic was dark it was still fun, but I don't think a film will ever be made that will capture all that. I also liked them having tails, which was something that gets left out here and there with different versions.

That price for a wave kit is not surprising at all. They don't pick items other companies do and they don't have the high production of a company like Bandai. Since there are no moving parts I would expect the detail to be high if not spot on.

The Official Robot Spirits (Tamashii/Damashii) Thread

Personally I want a great f2 version. The new one is a good representation of the anime and the old one looks like the one from turn A.- 380 replies

After the poor box office reception, I hope we get a reboot that makes everyone forget these films existed. And if we get e reboot I hope it's a good one without giant turtles or Megan Fox and ends up being closer to the source material. I still don't know how these massive turtles climb out of a sewer.

They look like the parts can just be swapped out and I think they may have mentioned that that's how they work, but I could be wrong

Looks like X Men came in at a close second less than ten million away from the number one. Too bad the number one only made just over 30 million. X Men films will probably keep going and this may be a punch in the arm to do better from this point on. As far as the turtles go they will probably get flushed down the reboot toilet.

I think the Nu ver ka came out after bandai stopped making new decal sets, but maybe the decals for the old mg CCA kits mixed with other decals from the mg Unicorn may work. Bandai really should stop treating gunpla builders as kids and give waterslides instead of just stickers with their kits, it can't cost that much to just make a waterslide copy of their existing marking patterns.

An mg Jagd Doga would be great, but I hope the cables get a better treatment than rubbery parts with a near impossible mold line to sand like the mg Geara Doga. Also I hope it doesn't get one of those weird what if it was unicorn armor panel gimmic.

It's not dumb luck he's just that powerful with the force. -
I hope that if they ever do a gp01 revive that they do a more anime Kawamori style than the katoki style they usually go with.

My least favorite kit out of the old CCA series was the Sazabi, but if anyone finds it dirt cheap it's worth it for the boxart and artwork in the instructions. The Jagd Dogas are my favorites and have waist armor that looks more like the line art than the hguc even though I still like the overall hguc better. Gears Doga was also good for its time.

The armored 1j didn't have the short wings or the shoulder cover and the new one has the tv hands and pilot. Some pages for preorder state that the head is a new sculpt, but I'm not sure if that info was confused with repainted.

Unless the reviews are really bad I'm gonna see it. If they are bad I will just borrow it from a friend at dvd time. -
I love the artwork on the old CCA kits my favorites are the Sazabi and the 1/100 nu Gundam fin funnel, although I love them all.

Godzilla: Resurgence, Gamera reboot and Ultraman reboot
Big s replied to thereal9thdoctor's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I really hated the last U.S. Godzilla. A lot of critics and friends liked it though, but I wanted to see Godzilla as the big frightful monster that the original gave me nightmares about when I was a kid. The first film was my first when I was very young, it's almost a bit too slow and a bit cheesy now, but when I was very young a giant almost unstoppable unhappy city smashing monster was amazing. I don't want another hero monster movie. The preview does have me a bit worried, with the helicopters getting up close to him. They do that way to much in both the U.S. And Japanese films. -
Could try a vacume case, but that's probably ridiculous and over priced.
