I was just checking out some pictures for the volks plastic 1/24 Cerberus vr maxima and I'm really liking what I'm seeing. It can do downform and has a full cockpit, but I don't see a pilot. If I can find the Testa Rosa they did a while back I may have to start picking up these volks kits.

I usually stay away from cans other than for top coats. But when I do use them it's for gloss. I just have no luck with gloss paints or gloss coats from my airbrush.
-
I haven't done it personally, but I've heard of people cleaning the back of the sticker with goo be gone and then using a decal setting solution.

I actually bit the bullet on those kits and bought two of the full sets of the 1a so I could do the display. Of coarse right after that bandai decided to do the preorder for hmr 1a. After doing the math I probably should have skipped the second tomytech set. I still wanna see the vf31A full set for tomytech. Although an hmr version would probably be great with less anime magic in the new series it could look spot on even with the transformation.

I don't own the ultron, but my daughter and I have have a few figures from dbz, Starwars, Avengers, Naruto, Sailor Moon and others. The joints on those are probably some of the most reliable and they are fairly durable. We've never had one break. I can't say the same for figma or neca. The revoltech ones haven't broken on mine, but have been loose enough to just fall apart and I don't have any mafex figures yet. Anyway the sh figuarts joints don't worry me at all.

That 1a looks nice. It's been a while since I've seen anyone so a gloss paint job on mecha.

Well I'm glad this thread finally got off the ground. I don't have any of the figures yet, but I've heard the quality has gone up since the line started. Any body have good experiences or a good figure recommendation to start with?

The death troopers are picking up souvenirs while the storm troopers are taking a dip and that other guy is the captain of the imperial Love Boat. It's all a vacation film🤓 -
The one showing off the feet is the cutest pose yet😍

Most of the stormtroopers shown are right handed so the should be better shots than anh srormtroopers🤓 -
I think this will have a good chance of a U.S. release

Alright so they fixed the stripe, now they need to resize the pilot. Then again Hikaru did look a bit smaller in the series.😏

My favorite Ironman was the crappy one he pieced together in the beginning of the first film, but this one is a close second. And by the way instead of stating that there is no mafex thread, maybe you should start one. They seem to be making more and more figures and some of them are different offerings than other toy lines. I'm sure as the line grows and quality gets better people will appreciate upcoming news for these items.

The lacquer primers I've used are also good for moving parts and resist scratching because of how it sticks and how thin it is, just give it time to dry. It will be dry to touch in only a couple of minutes, but a day or two can give it more of a safe zone for handling. When using lacquer paints over the primer it sticks great, but if you like a chipped look you can use acrylics or enamels that don't stick the same chip the areas then top coat actually seems to help especially with acrylics from my experience.

From the sdfm was animated that one cel might be the correct one and the rest were the mistakes. The colors on everything flip flopped so much it gets difficult to determine mistakes vs cannon. Either way it's different from what I grew up with thinking, but it's growing on me day to day.

Mr surfacer bites really well into plastic like styrene and is very smooth. It also grabs lacquer paint really well. There are cheaper lacquer alternatives for primer, but sometimes mr surfacer can be found much cheaper. I usually don't use enamel or acrylics because they tend to rub off easy or with the primers can have an odd surface. Be careful if you paint abs plastic with lacquer primer. Bandai has warnings about it with some kits.

I will probably buy both the m and m's (I did buy the tv 1j, even though I said I wouldn't), but I'd be way more excited if it were the q rau set, or maybe even more excited if it were the vf22 set. I'm feeling tired of vf1 after vf1.

It's about 50/50 good or bad, which is kinda where I thought it would be. That's still above my pay to see limit, so I may check it out.- 277 replies

If he's just talking about panel lining there's also the thin gundam panel markers or micron pens and I have also seen very thin lead pencils used. I usually do the oil paint, but I have been lazy on the real grades and used .25 micron pen just to get it done with fewer steps.
