Just watched the first episode on amazon. While I’m still not a fan of the designs, I actually enjoyed the first one. It’s fun, and a lot going on visually. The character animation is pretty good, while some of the cg stuff in the backgrounds can be a little too cg, it’s not bad with the mobile suit movements. And when things do get a bit cheap, they pull off visual tricks to make it look as though there’s more going on. I watched it in English and the dub doesn’t seem bad either.
I think the only complaint I have is that the music sucks mostly. The theatrical stuff sounds alright, but the songs are garbage. It’s almost as bad as thunderbolt’s soundtrack, but not quite there yet.
Anyway, it was only the first episode, so there’s plenty of time for the show to turn to trash, but I’m remaining hopeful and I’ll probably rewatch this episode again later cause it was actually enjoyable

Yeah, he never used them ever in the anime.
Usually preferred launching the chest rockets instead.
It’s one of those things where I could swear I saw him jump on a lil scouts and did a quick stab, but I think I had imagined it all these years.

For what it's worth, I saw Death of a Unicorn last night after I think seeing a trailer posted here. It's unfortunately pretty formulaic, and doesn't do a whole lot with its premise. It's a rare outing from A24, which I can usually count on to at least be unique and interesting. I wonder if I'd have had a better time watching The Woman In The Yard instead. The last few times I saw a Black-headed horror flick they've all done a decent to good job holding my attention. (Get Out, Nope, Us, Talk To Me, and Never Let Go.)
Personally, I think A24 has gone so far in the quirky oddball range that now it’s just kinda turned mostly been there done that.

No, that’s Baetron. There’s a subtle difference in spelling

I'm not sure I'll like this movie. It feels more like a Bay movie with a Tron skin thrown over it.

All good points, if practical. I'm merely speculating, should the technology somehow take off and become successful, as to what direction that tech could possibly lead. Humanity is a barbarous creature and the one constant throughout our history so far as we know it is that any available weapon we create, we advance it and at some point, use it, in nearly all cases. Likewise the weaponization of seemingly benign technologies. Fortunately, we haven't crossed that line with hydrogen bombs just yet, but we're closer to midnight now than ever before. Obviously, you guys don't feel that Corleo is going to lead anywhere, but I'm not discounting anything. Our reality today includes much of what was considered sci-fi until just a couple decades ago, so dismissing anything, especially a technology that already has a real basis at present, is an underestimation.
I just think that weaponization fits spot better. This thing is more like an expensive toy concept. Sure you can add guns to it, but you could do that with an atv much easier.

Couple of interesting Tested episodes with Adam Savage.
Star Trek miniatures
(Apparently our @pengbuzz is in good company when it comes to using tape as an integral material in model building!)
And ED 209
I love this channel. Was just watching the one with the different judge Dredd costumes

For outdoor recreational use, it's the same as taking an ATV with you. You have to conserve energy to make it back to the home base so unless that thing is solar powered, which still wouldn't collect enough energy to keep something like that charged, it's not practical except for day-tripping. Going all-terrain with something like this feels like you should be going more than an overnight trip and I don't think it has enough fuel/battery power to go that long.
Unless you go full sci-fi and it waits until the right opportunity to attack and drains its energy from other drones out there like a robot vampire. But that’s really just going full fantasy at that point

Had to stay home from work with my sick kiddo. Sucks having a kid that hacking and sneezing, but I selfishly get to do some painting. Finished this up today. It was so much fun for such a simple build. I suck at hand painting but that didn’t stop me. Hahaha. I love my little SDF-1. Made a tiny bridge out of some 1mm pla. I think it came out great for the scale.
Looks like a fun little build there, turned out nice.
Hope the kid gets better, there’s some nasty stuff goin around, me and the lady both caught a nasty virus last week and are still getting over things here. -

I could see them used as pacification or for making forcible entry into an area that may be wired or is defended by potentially armed suspects, thus reducing the danger to a cop or soldier. Moreover, they could give chase to people who run from law enforcement, a job normally given to police dogs, who face harm at the hands of potentially armed suspects. Unlike a dog, who only has his jaws as a weapon, formidable though they may be, something akin to Corleo could be outfitted with any sort of restraining devices to capture and incapacitate. It could be designed to climb fences or jump fences too high for a dog. In lieu of a dog's nose, suspects could be marked with a traceable chemical marker that the quad-drone could detect and follow. The psychological component alone would prove as a good deterrent.
It’s probably cheaper using dogs, they keep turning up at the pound. The teeth and unpredictability are their psychological deterrent. And if you replace them with a robot, then they just will end up youthanizing more dogs because the pound is already at capacity .
as far as the other stuff, they’ve already been using spot for that stuff other than the actual arrest.capturing of people takes far more dexterity than a four legged drone has.
Honestly, all these extra ideas all fit great for sci fi and I’d love to see it in a show or movie, but they far from this mechanical horse concept that corleo is. And we already invented motorcycles over a hundred years ago and you probably wouldn’t have as much back pain as this Robobeast would cause.

sigh, I forgot Leto was in this........I can't think of a single property with him and it was outstanding or even really good. Thankfully I don't count Bladerunner cause he's hardly even in it.
I like the Little Things, but it is tough to come up with anything other than Blade Runner 2049

I love Tron and kinda liked the sequel, but I kinda don’t really care about this one yet. The idea of a guy stuck in a game was cool and really new back in the day, but has grown to become way overused, especially in anime. And the reverse kinda feels like a plot from old Saturday morning cartoons in that episode that was more of a filler than anything else

Yeah, the fang and Skyhawk had a rough start, but eventually they went out and had a great dinner and one thing led to another after they realized they had a lot in common. Now the have cute little babies

I just think it’s an odd scene to bring out so much dislike. It’s a goofy space dog and kinda always was a goofy space dog. It’s not doing anything I wouldn’t have expected it to.

New Mobile Report Gundam Wing has a lot of western fans whom it introduced to Gundam in the 90's, but overall I believe it's still considered a pretty middling installment. It had some writing trouble, and the plot kind of meanders in the second half.
Zeta, on the other hand, is arguably the gold standard by which all other Gundam titles are judged in terms of its ratings success, its commercial success, and its influence on the franchise as a whole.
Wing was definitely an intro for most over here. I enjoyed it quite a bit and it seems like a masterpiece compared to anything Gundam has put out in the last decade or so.
I personally love Zeta, but it’s really tough to get others into it because of its weird writing. Characters seem to make the weirdest decisions imaginable, especially the female characters. As odd as ZZ is, it usually makes more sense.
my favorites as far as gundam goes would be the 90’s ova’s. I love War in the Pocket, Stardust Memory and 08th MS team. I really wanted to love unicorn, but it just felt so overly pointless that it made everything else after feel more pointless.
I didn’t realize kinda like IBO , but it really had some cringy bits and might be the best of the newer stuff. I need to rewatch 00 though, I don’t really remember it that well, just didn’t care for most of the designs.

Been dog sitting for some friends the past week+ so I brought this kit with me to help pass some time.
Was able to stop by my home today and do a rough and ready paint job on the “pickle”I need to go back in and do some hand painting including some touch ups. Got some glue seepage unfortunately and I also want to get a matte finish on there.
The Surfacer 500 took care of most the rivets I wanted to hide which was a half success.
All said and done, this was a fun one.
Might have to get the rest of the fleet 🤔Looks a lot more organic now. Very cool

However, If the Corleo actually becomes popular enough to become successful beyond just being a fad, I doubt it would take long for it to find its way into the military, or a DARPA equivalent, along with mods, like longer legs for greater running speeds, or bulkier builds for carrying greater loads. Not only that, but armed variants would almost certainly be likely. A drone of similar design would have the ability to traverse terrain in ways that wheeled vehicles might not be able to which would give them a tactical advantage.
They already have drones that can fly, I don’t think that there’s too many uses for a drone like this. The spot four legged ones are good for tight spaces though, but I don’t think there’s much of a market for this type of thing.
It’s a cool fantasy though
