  1. Thrawn went on an extreme diet since leaving that planet with those witches
  2. Yeah, the voice acting sucks pretty bad here. And the cg is rather sub par. I hoped they’d improve it some after the first trailer, but I’ll still probably check it out and see how bad it is.
  3. I usually give those gaps a pass in these early pictures due to them being prototypes and the final product usually tightens things up, but there appears to be a piece between the chestplate and intake that is in the way.
  4. That probably helps since most people know who Sauron is, but Thouron would be like a brand new character to someone not in the know. Although I’m not super into the lore and I thought season one was pretty bad, maybe Acolyte bad possibly worse. It’s definitely Amazon Primes low point as far as original shows
  5. I haven’t really watched as many new titles, but it still seems like a lot still have a dub option. Are the majority really only subs now? I still think I’d prefer a Dub if the cast was decent, but unfortunately I don’t have faith in the modern voice acting for anime. I’ve seen some decent American cartoons with a decent cast, but those were mostly actual actors that cost real money. As far as anime with fairly decent localization, I still hold Cowboy Bebop as the gold standard for excellence, but there were a few greats other than that around the 90’s that sounded pretty great, I still like Outlaw Star and a few other sunrise animation ones above the usual funimation crowd that was popping up. Just the voice acting has kinda dropped off since then as if they only hire fans to do the dubs these days to save cash.
  6. That’s how I am these days, but back in the 90’s I was super excited about every release. I would walk home from high school with cash I was supposed to spend on lunch and swing by target. Then when a friend got a job at Kay Bee toys, he would set certain things aside for me until I showed up. He would help me get a lot of the crazy variants and I spent way too much money back then. But I had fun collecting back then in the pre internet days where physical stores may or may not have anything.
  7. I’m ashamed to say that I’ve bought figures that I was less excited about for more than that. Lately I’ve been trying not to overspend on thing I’m not as interested in due to space and cost, but I definitely want this one
  8. It’s definitely fugly, but I do have to give them credit for being brave enough to try something different for a company that sounds like it has no 🏀s
  9. I only say that because I haven’t heard any good dubs lately and have high doubts that this would be any different, so I’ll still say probably for the best, but I’d love to be proven wrong because I’d love to be able to watch the action without having to read captions
  10. That old school Vash looks way too shiny
  11. I totally agree. This thing would sell even on standard release. This is the first Spawn figure I’ve been really interested in in a while. And as others have stated the first kickstarter Spawn was a great idea, but it had that look as if they meant it for a fixed pose statue and then added joints in awkward ways.
  12. It’s tough to be interesting when every enemy is gone or friends. It does get a little more entertaining, but in very forced ways unfortunately. I think after I have time to forget these episodes, the next ones will be more fun.
  13. It’s probably for the best, English dubs haven’t been all that great in a long time. Some dubs back in the 90’s were actually really great, but I struggle to think of many or any recent ones. I’d probably get ticked off the moment I heard an English voice actor say “even so” again for the millionth time. I swear that there must be a rule that every English dub has to include that line in every project they work on , sometimes several times as though there’s a quota
  14. The ones on the toys don’t actually transform the way they’re supposed to. It’s one of those odd animation things that doesn’t translate to real life, so the fighter feet look more proper to how it was meant to look, but the battroid feet will never match that, so Hasegawa did one set for the battroid to look more like the animation and the odd ones that don’t look quite right are to appear as though they never change shape at all between the two modes like they do in the animation. Most of the toys just kinda compromise between the two appearances but hasegawa tends to like the idea that the fighter is the ultimate shape and the battroid is secondary. that’s why the battroid intakes on the VF-1 are so big that they get in the way of mobility. In this case they were nice and decided to give two options, the ones that would be realistic which look weird or the ones that look better for battroid
  15. I dunno ... these pictures look super toy like. Not sure if I wanna buy one. I have two plamax VF-1 fighters already. It will probably look a lot better with some paint and weathering
  16. Yeah, a basic hero in a time with limited technology would make for a more interesting Batman. And a Superman in an era without doubt post WW2 like very late 40’s or early 50’s would be great as well. I do think Batman would work better int the 20’s or 30’s though in an era of recovery from the depression that’s still has some rampant city crime. Maybe Start with Batman a bit younger in a slightly more grim era in a gritty Gotham and maybe being a few years of experience by the time Superman shows up from outta nowhere in an age of awkward retro science and sometimes less than friendly alien visitors.
  17. The American voice acting is terrible to an extreme here. I’ll probably check it out since the Zeon’s were always more likable than the feds, but there better be a subtitle version that doesn’t sound like crap. If there isn’t, I’m turning it off the moment I hear someone say “even so”.
