Gundam Figure Thread - Newtype GN-002
Big s replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I just think it’s handled poorly on the toy. I’ve seen plenty of added textures on Zaku kits over the years and most have looked good, while some take it out of scale. The netting on the shoulders here look stupid, but I could see someone taking the kit and some thin netting over the shoulder armor and making it look far better. Although my biggest problem is that I’m not really a fan of this version of the Zaku II.- 6017 replies

I’ve been seeing some of those people he was talking about doing it with little micro machines and tiny cars from train sets. I’d be scared of putting in that much work and just losing the thing

They were really kind on that one -
As bad as that was, it was an improvement

Dr Doom in a lot of the comic appearances where they actually showed him, he was pretty messed up looking, but it’s all just early guessing for now

I think it’s the lack of riveting, but also the lack of any weathering. It will definitely look better with a bit more attention

Don’t even lie, you’ve been turning these things out at an extremely rapid rate compared to most of us, this is maybe a month or two, you’ll still need some more for fall and winter

When you push the joints in and have fun with the poses, then they’re great. The only complaint I have is that they only have the retracted wings

Yeah, I remember her mostly having blue gloves, but maybe there was an odd panel where she was doing the dishes or that time when she was in the standard team outfit

As far as previous toys, I think the revoltech version was the winner for their Battroid only figure. This one looks alright as well, but I’m not as interested after the Plamax Battroid is so much fun for a kit

I kinda think those sources are just running on guessing for this one. Although they may end up guessing right, we’ll have to wait and see how things really turn out. my early guess is that he’s not actually Tony or a variant since that seems like it’s giving away the twist way too early on. Like they didn’t really give any info but the twist if that were the case. I kinda think it may be something more simple as he actually will be Victor, but messed up enough in the face that we don’t associate him with Tony even though it’s the same actor, but that’s just a very early guess

For laughs and nostalgia of the time, Night Trap. It’s bad, but for the time it seemed a lot better than it actually was. And there the don’t play it when your parents are still awake factor for the time. Mostly, I really enjoyed a lot of the space shooters on there.

Tiamat is a cool addition, but way out of my price range and limited space requirements. He looks rather wrinkle free to me

I think those are mostly just the number and unit markings. One thing that’s fun about the Hasegawa kits is that they come with a translation guide for zentraedi writing to English numbers and letters

The 1j in battroid appears to have those panels popped out all the way, while the 1S and 1A have them popped in on the above pictures

I think if the item is meant to transform, then I agree. But if it’s a separate model for fighter and battroid, then I actually like it when they try and stick to the animation art.

I think they’re really only supposed to have different markings for stuff like a unit number. Different “tattoos “ and things like gray legs and such were mostly box art or possibly for different fleets possibly. They didn’t have markings in the show, but occasionally had gray legs. So I’m not sure if that was just miscoloring, artistic fun or depicting something like a different fleet. Hasegawa and Bandai bot have it where the unit number markings are different, but the tattoo markings are the same between the different variants, but they could be wrong.

I hadn’t seen it from overhead, could it be that they’re supposed to be pushed inwards and this is just slightly mistransformed
