I really love the movie version and would also get at least one tv version. The only thing other than larger ships would be the gnerl fighter and I’d definitely get at least one of them
-
I built one of the Bandai rereleases of that kit the first round a while back and still have fond memories of it. There appears to be more surface details on the old kit since it’s based more on the detailed art rather than the tv line art and show appearance. Although I kinda wish it had that extra surface detailyou can see the tv one is much smoother like the new kit, but most of the extra detail would just take a bit of thin plastic sheet. The added venting stuff would be a bit more difficult though

I personally just really like the black and green, but often I do like the grunts
-
They’re the same other than color, although you may want to wait a bit and see if they do the standard color version with a slightly different pilot, but it would only be very slightly different if anything

Here’s the description for the Queadluun Rau from hobby searchI’m just really glad it seems they changed up the necessary stuff rather than just doing what they did with the Macross kit
-
Everything listed is up for preorder, I checked an hour ago and they weren’t there, but they’re up now. I ordered the Queadluun Rau and looks like November release, but not sure how shipping and such will go down by then

Thanks for the update, I feel relieved now. Hopefully they do a full resin figure of her like they did the movie version. As far as the Glaug, I really don’t know other than maybe the figure would look too small, but then why bother with a cockpit. Maybe by the time a tv Nousjadeul Ger happens, they’ll give him a chance

I didn’t know people ate popcorn at church. I never go, so I guess I wouldn’t know
-
Did it say they weren’t including Mirya in this version? I did think it odd they left out Kamjin, but I don’t know if that’s really the reason since Plamax hasn’t had any problems and I don’t think hasegawa had any issues with the tv vf-1 kits

I definitely need this one

I hate to hear that you got hurt, but at least you’re a true hero

I was kinda thinking about it and I was liking the movie up until Bucky figured out that they had to do something about Bob. I think they should have done more of the group trying to nail their employer and less of the big bad God Bob. I still don’t get the groups motivation for giving up at the end, they could’ve nailed her and just said Bucky was their political support for the group. It was such a terrible ending that it kinda just will make the movie rather forgettable. I don’t think I’ll ever rewatch it like I did with a lot of the older marvel movies. The whole thing felt more like a tv show plot for a mostly skippable episode than a full on movie story- 55 replies

Next time it’s taco day, remember that you’re not in the menu because we all look forward to your updates on the hobbies. Can’t wait to see how things go once that arm heals up. Be safe and get well soon and don’t overdo things too soon

Gotta let us know how well it works. I’ve seen some non English vids of people using it and it seems pretty cool. That company is coming out with some rather interesting tools, saw a no clean airbrush that not only runs bottled paints, but also can be set to run paint markers as well. I don’t know how well it works, but they definitely have some creative ideas.

Missile pod holder broke from the right wing, any recommended glue?
Big s replied to macross-vf-1s's topic in The Workshop!
You could just try an abs glue like Bindine from the hobby shop. It’s pretty good at bonding abs plastic if given time to set. Just don’t pour too much in or you could end up melting the wing. -

It has likeable characters, but a kinda lame story. It just had a why did they go through all this kinda feel. Like the ending was just there to set up a new team and they never really stopped the bad guy. In fact they were about to bring her to justice and then just got distracted and stopped caring. I don’t even know if Bucky still works as a government official or just stopped caring about that as well. I kinda stopped caring by the end.- 55 replies

I would probably be interested if they were half the cost. I know that’s unrealistic these days though

The toyrise ones ain’t cheap either. Just less expensive than hmr since they’re much smaller. Toys in general are getting way too overpriced

Those circles on the arms look extremely difficult there

That’s probably the best way to watch the movie. Definitely don’t try and watch it seriously, because it’s pretty bad. But there’s bits here and there that are kinda interesting. Jack Palance is always great to see, but a little weird here with the britishy accent. He is however the best actor in the movie although he’s like 50 years older than his younger brother. I’ll have to try and find the rifftrax version, I didn’t think to search for that and watched to regular version.

Yeah, but those announcements were still a few years back and I haven’t seen Bandai do that kinda thing recently with their kits. Toys on the other hand are a different story

So I did a rewatch last night and honestly for the most part it’s really bad. I remember a lot better. The dialogue is delivered by mostly amateur actors and there’s some really cheesy fights. Oddly the backgrounds look like they’re mostly drawn in by children’s book illustrators and that’s sometimes close backgrounds. Jack Palance plays the oldest older brother ever here for some hilarity. A good majority of the movie is built on the same scene basically done over and over again. A character is in trouble and either the main character or a friend of the main character gets into a challenge with the people causing problems, usually starting with one of the group getting killed off and one or two members being left to challenge a hero character in some way. The music is actually the best part of the movie and mostly because it’s weird and catchy. Like an odd mix of renaissance fair and disco. It sounds like a horrible match, but I gotta give credit to whoever did this soundtrack bet the made that awkward mix somehow work, like I said it’s really kinda catchy the way it’s set up. It could easily have been something more to add to the train wreck of a movie, but here it stands out and kinda makes things feel bigger than they really are.

I completely agree with you. The stuff I’ve seen has pretty always had a decent or even great group of actors and the visual effects are pretty much at the top as well. Unfortunately the writing is often where the stories fall apart. Sometimes it’s too much of an agenda or sometimes it’s expecting everyone to have watched a cartoon, but most of the time it’s just pure stupidity

I do love em, but that’s more of a story of a couple of alpha males clashing and causing a breakup. Although the more interesting story for them is the post breakup. A few years afterwards is when their stuff really gained popularity mostly due to Cliff Burton always wearing their shirts and tattoos since he was a major fan. That oddly made a massive push for their logos on T shirts and rereleases of albums to hit a totally new generation. Merch alone has made them one of the most recognized in the biz and I still see plenty of skaters and punks and goths and metal heads wearing their stuff to this day. The popularity of their stuff made the brothers Doyle and Jerry Only want to reform the band. Of course Danzig was already huge with his own career and really didn’t take too much interest until recently leading to a revolving door of vocalists. Again lots of clashing before things cooled down enough for a somewhat proper reunion.
