The people I know are a bit of a mix, and those that saw it really enjoyed it, anime fan or not. But they’re majority of people I know have never heard of it at all or just didn’t want to take their kids to see it and forgot about its existence. I guess maybe if it ain’t Smurfs or smurf colors, then they didn’t care

General 1/18 Scale Figure and Toy Thread

I’d totally buy that whole set at that price. I’d probably only be able to get one fighter though. I did hear they’re trying for some lighting gimmicks. -
I’d totally buy SH figuarts over these, but it ain’t happening. Still waiting on that Breetai they teased ages ago………

They definitely benefit from the theater experience. The home viewing is very bland at best. These movies are visually cool in 3D on the big screen, but they’re not much better than Saturday morning cartoons as far as writing and story. I don’t think that was a big issue. Most people just didn’t give the movie a chance. Most of the viewers actually really enjoyed the film. Even the reviews weren’t bad for it, just the audience was non existent. Not enough people interested in the franchise and not a lot of people interested in a non kids cg looking movie. It also kinda lacked the hype that Avatar has despite being far better than Avatar for the most part.

They’re holding on to a bunch of my stuff currently. Waiting on one more kit that’s coming out soon.

Did they put the elbow pads in the sides for the heavy armor also? Someone needs to teach this company how elbow pads work

Still keeping my fingers crossed for that one

I think that’s a good option, but there are some cases where there isn’t another set of decals easily available. I think he was working on an older kit, so finding a replacement would also be finding the older kit again

You never know, maybe getting the brand will lead to something that direction if this sells well

Due to the smaller size, it’s actually tempting for me. I’m at a bit of a space issue and smaller items are a bit of a better option right now

I’m a little worried that since I joked about it looking a bit explicit, that they took that seriously. I just noticed my joke comment got wiped as well. Sorry, if that’s why it got wiped

Either that or it’s a water, fire, ice thing since the first one had them flying around in the wind

Yeah, not gonna lie but that hasegawa one is a bit intimidating, but I’ll get to it one day. I got a few of the wave armor suits, so I ended up picking the Fliege since it had a window to show off the face. I figured it would be more interesting picture wise than one of the Fireball SAFS type suits even though I prefer those.

I think you’ll do all right with this one. I thought you were talking about the Hasegawa version. The hasegawa kit is in my stash and one day I’ll tackle that complicated beast, but I’m a slow builder and I know it’s gonna take me a long while to build.

This looks really awesome. I like the overall shine

The last one wasn’t something I hated, but I can’t say I remember anything from it

Same here, I liked the more basic designs from the series before it got a bit more super robotish. But I definitely don’t hate any of them from what I remember. It’s been a while

Oh, so that’s actually gonna be a different larger figure? I like little figures, but the larger one looks better, but that might just be the paint job.

I think you got a month, might have enough time if you work fast

Gonna try and get this lil guy done in time for the hlj machinen Krieger contest. Not sure if I got enough time, but it is a little kit and not really expecting to win, just trying to get it done for fun. Gonna try a couple things I’m not used to like armor texture and painting a mustache. Seriously, out of all the lil dudes in models over the years, this is the first one I’ve ever had that actually has facial hair.there were a lot of seams, but luckily they were only on very simple rounded shapes, so they cleaned up well. Gonna try and make the joints look like worn out fabric covering. Probably gonna try and make the whole thing look like it’s been around a bit longer than it should. Also gotta make a stand. forgot to mention that I found some spring that was just slightly bigger than the hoses, but they fit super snug over them perfectly and at least I don’t have to try to hard at sanding those

Saw a better picture of the card and it’s an Orange Cat release.

Marvel Studios Fantastic Four: First Steps

I think Leo was the only one you listed that had any complaints, but those were usually silenced once people saw that he was picking some better and more challenging roles for a while. As far as race/ gender swaps, I’m usually ok if the actor can pull it off and the movie turns out to be great. That unfortunately doesn’t always happen. It also sometimes gets a little cringe when it gets overdone like what happens with most red heads, but if the actor or actress can truly deliver then it gets forgiven.- 134 replies

Is Wave actually making it or just distributing it from another company? Looks a lot more hefty than what they usually make, but a lot of their more ambitious kits have been from other companies like Academy doing the Galient kits or Orange Cat doing the Tekkaman ones. As far as this one, it’s not my favorite from the show, but I definitely like the details and the little dude. And is that little dude actually articulated? Looks like it has several joints. I might have to get this one

Marvel Studios Fantastic Four: First Steps

I think that would be brown washing, but to be honest, I like Pedro a lot and even if he is in everything, at least he usually puts everything into his roles for the most part.- 134 replies
