Seriously? So what keeps them from churning out Valks left and right to vendors? Do they not have the market to do so?

Hasbro is almost going broke by taking too many gambles. They cut a lot of jobs lately and have had many other companies handling their licenses. Too many toys in the clearance isles I guess

It's not a mold that can be milked.  Likely they won't touch it.

That’s probably the case, but as said above by jenius, they’ve picked some oddballs. They did do the Monster and Glaug. Not too many examples beyond those in hmr though

  3. Paramount plus was probably the antibiotic to stop the spread of STD. It may have had more viewers on a different service, but who knows. I don’t know anyone that was able to watch it, but from what I’ve read it didn’t sound great

Hey everybody, today it's sunday and i used a little bit of my free time to take some puctures of my Dijeh RE 100. I actually built this kit few years ago right after it was released but only lately i did some extra work on it. I put some extra decals on and add a layer or two of top coat. Unfortunately i noticed that it's one of my few gunpla (actually maybe the only one) who yellowed a little bit...it's a real shame since it seems like it's becoming a hard kit to find and I don't think Bandai is going to reprint it soon. Anyway i hope you like lens flare!

    Looks pretty cool.

there is a UV cut top coat that may help preventing yellowing. As far as reprints, the re series hardly gets any other than odd ones at the web shop gets

Only by modern, low episode count, standards; if compared to everything up to Enterprise with their 22-26 episodes per season, without taking episode run-time into account, Lower Decks amounts to a 2-2.5 year mission.  Now, if specifically stated in-show that five years have elapsed since the events of the premier episode I'll retract my assertion and concede the point.

For what it's worth, the whole "five year mission" concept isn't even a thing outside of TOS and the other 23rd century titles (TAS, DSC, SNW).

Five year missions were only really a thing for the big deep space explorers like the Constitution-class and Excelsior-class in the 23rd century.  Starfleet seems to have gone away from the idea after the 23rd century given that the concept vanished from Trek entirely with TNG and wasn't mentioned again until DSC and SNW.  Even if they still did that kind of thing, the USS Cerritos isn't one of the big multi-mission deep space explorers that gets sent on that kind of mission.  She's a rear-echelon utility ship of a type that both TOS-era (and PIC era) material classifies as a tugboat.

Star Trek: the Next Generation cut the idea out entirely.  The opening narration changed from:

    to:

Star Trek: the Next GenerationStar Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Star Trek: Voyager all adopted the premise that one season equalled one year of in-universe time.

TNG's seven seasons span seven years from 2364 to 2370 with the movie being set one year later in 2371.

DS9's seven seasons span seven years from 2369 to 2375.

VOY's seven seasons span seven years from 2371-2378.

Star Trek: Enterprise followed the same basic approach too, with its four seasons spread between April 2151 to January 2155.

Star Trek: Discovery seems to follow the same approach was well, with its two 23rd century seasons spanning 2256-2258 and its two completed 32nd century seasons spanning 3188-3190.

Star Trek: Picard breaks the pattern a bit with its first season set in 2399, its second and third seasons both taking place in the first half of 2401, though that still averages out to 3 years in-universe time = 3 seasons.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is a bit more of a pattern-breaker as it's indicated that seasons one and two both take place in 2259.

Star Trek: Lower Decks's four seasons currently span a two-year period from 2380 to 2381.

So, you're right for the wrong reason... it is like 2-2.5 year story but the whole five year mission isn't a thing at the time the series is set.

That’s a lot to say about a little joke. I haven’t seen the show, due to being on the least popular streaming service, but if the episodes are only 20 something minutes rather than almost an hour then it might be more like a one year mission at the most.

    that's just sad looking!!

It’s not sad looking. It looks brave and full of conviction ready to take on all challenges. Unfortunately he wasn’t informed about the outside world and what truly awaited him and the fact that he was highly unprepared for the competition.

Never say never! She is a Piloted Fembot, those are all the rage right now Lol.  In all seriousness Bandai needs to allow crowd funding like Hasbro has done. as long as they know they are covered with funding then a Tomahawk or the Regult Scout should be no problem. I know your pain, I'm praying for a once in a lifetime anniversary G1 Jetfire this year or next . when pigs fly.

Bandai is an unpredictable beast at times. There could be a completed prototype of a popular character or robot, but then they may never release it. As far as female toys, I still remember the Faye Valentine from cowboy bebop. It looked really great, had all the joints and paint, all they had to do was get them on the shelf. She was a wanted character and what was showed was amazing, but all we got was a tease. Other times they go wild and overproduce items nobody gives a damn about like Kyoukai Senki toys and models and nobody buys them

  8. Not a fan of the games and have very little knowledge other than a few commercials. That being said, I’m loving the show. I’m about halfway through and it’s definitely my favorite show of the year. I thought Shogun would be my number one, but I had a feeling it was too early to call. So far it’s a better year for streaming so far and hopefully there’s more good shows up and coming.

As an odd side, I really want to see that Warhammer project after seeing the way armor was handled here

I finished the old Arii Regult Scout Pod from Macross yesterday. I placed it next to the Heavy Missile Regult I finished last year. I used Wave's H-Eyes lenses on both of these kits for the little red sensors. For the Scout, I filed down the piece offset from the center and replaced it with a big blue lens. (I painted the red and blue with Mr. Color Clear Red and Clear Blue colors.) I used Kotobukiya's M.S.G. vernier thruster pieces for the side thruster pods as well as the thrusters on the backs of the knees. Scattered about are parts for Haegawa's Armored Valk and Bandai/Imai's Q-Rau kits.

Man, we can't have anything nice these days.

Why cancel one of the few things that Paramount+ and Star Trek have going for them?

Going to be pretty upset if it turns out this got canceled so they could divert the money to Starfleet Academy.

About a month or so ago there was a lot of talk about P+ giving the axe to its animated shows and I guess this was a part of all that. Not sure if they’ll still get episodes of shows from other networks or if it just includes their originals. Not even sure honestly what if any originals they have since I still have yet to meet anyone with P+

We're talking about a child who is more than 50 years old and is still essentially a toddler.  The kid's unlikely to even hit adolescence in Din Djarin's lifetime.

Then it’ll be Din’s quest for a nanny.

Din Djarin's story came to a natural and satisfying end in The Mandalorian season three.

I'm torn. Either Gambit is resurrected, which would kill the stakes, or he would stay dead, which stinks. I appreciate that the end of this episode had me fully engaged.

    I know what you mean

    Spoiler

He’s my favorite of that era of X-Men and honestly is my favorite on the show. I don’t like Wolverine much in the 97 series since he always sounds like he needs a nap, so I guess Cyclops would be my favorite character now. If things got reversed by Cable I’d definitely be happy to get Gambit back, but also a little disappointed that all that destruction could just be wiped away by a gimmick.

Some movies are classics and should just be left alone. The Crow being one of them, they also tried to ruin another Classic, Jacobs Ladder with a piss poor reboot.

One thing people are missing just like a lot of other business and institutions in America the government allowed studies to consolidate from several hundred studios in the late 1980's to just 3 to 4 mega studios who own and control subsidiaries, while themselves owned by an even bigger conglomerate.  its all part of a technocracy and it will only get worse because when government and corporate interest merge that's fascism. its all about generating profits to the max sweeping out any kind of passion in the films.

Now there is some hope? Yes but a compromise. Look at Godzilla Minus One, a soft almost reboot of the 1954. it was made in Japan with on screen dialogs . maybe the future is foreign movies from all over the world translated with AI into English? not perfect but still good.

Another future options in dealing with reboots like this having AI re-edit these reboots by fans to make them good. Example I've dreamed of AI fixed version of the bay transformers movies with fixing the characters, adding characters while redoing the whole story line. take all the movies and condense them into a three movie trilogy.

Another option is movie studios instead of doing reboots, instead creates AI tools allowing you to remake any film you want yourself for a small fee and maybe even have a marketplace were the studio will sell your director cut and you even get a small commission out of each one rented.

There is a solution to the reboot madness but only time will tell what it is.

To be fair, there’s a lot of crap that comes from foreign movie studios and we usually only hear about the really good ones. Netflix has a butt load of foreign garbage sci fi and such movies that I would never recommend to anyone unless they’re having a bad movie marathon. I think the major problem with American films is that they’re mostly mediocre, not necessarily really bad or really good lately just easily forgettable
