I kinda figured that there’d be a lot of work involved on the armored Valkyrie. From the way the pets look on the regult, there’s definitely gonna be some work as well. Looks like seam lines on the under and over armor

Gundam Figure Thread - Newtype GN-002
Big s replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I really like the gmg figures so far. They’re not perfect, but they are fun and small enough to get a bunch and not have to worry about space limitations. I think price and accessory attachments are the only downsides- 6017 replies

Hunters moon is really good, I just wish the movie version was added to the single. It has a more 80’s sound with the keyboards.

There’s always a slim possibility of a reissue, but it’s extremely slim since it already kinda had a reissue with the missile parts. I think the recon version will probably be the last regult that gets released unless they get around to the green version from the movie. That price isn’t too outrageous, so I would say to pick it up

That’s a good attitude to have. Hopefully someone gives you the answer you’re hoping for

For almost being 100 it’s really surprising how well she spoke in interviews that were very recent. She sounded like she could have been around much longer. On another note I was on Hulu this morning and they had her snl episode from a few years back highlighted. I guess at the time she set an age record for being the oldest female host or maybe oldest host

NEW Urusei Yatsura television series. Coming 2022!

Have to be careful playing that teaser. It could get taken way out of context if someone only heard the audio without understanding the language- 10 replies

Anybody have a favorite song or video from the past year? I think mine would have been Iron Maiden with Writing on the Wall. But there’s been a few that I’ve been liking as well like some of the new volbeat and there were some fun covers of Metallica and I’m hoping this year with things hopefully getting a little more back to normal we’ll have more new songs that artists free m all genres will be touring to support

Thanks for the hard work ted, hopefully 2022 will be just as productive.

I’m in agreement over that movie. I loved it as a kid, but then again sometimes those things just don’t hold up when you’re older. I haven’t seen it in a very long time and kinda afraid to ruin my childhood by watching it now, but maybe I’ll give it a try.

I do feel that as I said before that the scale argument will just be an argument. I do think the best way to describe it may be as personally preferred scale. Like maybe someone could start by saying that it appears a bit short for their preferred scale, and maybe give the example of that scale. Like the above comment said the scale issue is all over the place and there is no real right or wrong here.

Kids Logic Robotech MiniTech (Miniature Technique) Line
Big s replied to no3Ljm's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
A lot of minis usually go with a light blue. -
The scale arguments will never satisfy anyone. There are those on the anime scale side that has a division between those scenes where the Zentradi are as tall as the Valkyrie, which makes perfect sense since Max was able to easily wear a uniform over his 1a. And there are scenes where the Glaug looks the same size as a battroid as well. And then there are those that go by the line art that make some Zentradi barely taller than the hip compared to others, so the mecha ends up a bit between the anime scales. I kinda think the designers and animators didn’t have a real scale at all and were just told to make things big, but not given enough specific dimensions to go on. As far as the regult kit, it looks good and found an interesting way to hide its joints so I’m sure I’ll be happy. There are scenes and design pictures that make it look wider and some as thin as this. There are just too many inconsistencies with the old school dimensions to make a huge judgement. The way I see it is that if it’s too small for someone to feel comfortable with other 1/72 kits, then maybe display it on its own or with the 1/100 ones. And if that’s still not good enough maybe use it with the tomy tech ones, but that’s getting a bit extreme

The more I see of the regult, the more I can’t wait to get my hands on it. I have a couple projects going so I have to hurry or I know they’ll get sidelined

I really couldn’t get into Joao that much. It seemed more absurd than epic. Attack on Titan is a tough one to beat nowadays though. There are other shows that I love, but they’re mostly older stuff that may not interest the newer viewers and none of those had that end of every episode wtf reaction

I have to agree. There’s a lot less risk if they double it up with a main character mecha than if they released it on its own or with other mecha that may not have sold as well in Japan. I think the U.S. market is a different thing and I have a feeling that we tend to like the baddies a bit more over here. the other night a bunch of gundam kit went on preorder at the p-Bandai U.S. store and out of all of them the Efreet Jaeger sold out the fastest. I know overseas it seemed like the pale rider variants and the double o kits sold faster, but over here the zeon suit went first night. So maybe that might give Bandai something to think about if the question of more Zentradi mecha getting produced and available to the U.S. market

Maybe the casings being the size that they are when they pop out empty may have enough weight to do some damage if ejected in the wrong direction. So maybe even lefties get trained right. That and I think a lot of the controls are set by computer memory for complex arm and leg movements, so it may be more point and shoot with an on screen reticle, at least with the old school tv suits. The movie and later series have thicker arms and legs on the pilot suits which seem to allow for more personal control between the pilot and machine. either that or they listened to the stereotypes set by the first Star Wars movie and felt that a left handed military might not be able to hit their targets
-
A bunch of kits went up on the U.S. p-Bandai site. The only one I wanted though is the Efreet Jaeger. Not like I really need another efreet. I hate the color, but love the sniper. I’ll have to figure out a color that will look cool. Maybe a dark green with instead of the purple

I think I’ll pass this one up. I have the little minipla version and I kinda have a feeling a hgish posable kit will come out for it soon. The sirbine had a look that wouldn’t be easy to match any other way than a static kit, not that the Bandai hg doesn’t try.

A Robotech comics of Zentraedi fighting the Invid.
Big s replied to Invid99's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I think I’d rather see a story about the Zentradi vs the supervision army as a side thing or maybe even a story going way back to their creators, but I don’t know if that could be made with the awkward licensing on either side of the ocean. But maybe I’m wrong since things are getting a bit more open as far as what’s allowed -
Judging from the parts it may be a mix. It looks like some old parts from the battroid and some new ones for the armor. I don’t have the kit in hand so I’m only going by the instructions images

Gundam Show Thread - MSG thru Witch from Mercury
Big s replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Seems that the manga was to retell and expand that story and to forget the anime episode that everyone seemed to dislike. When I watched the original series it was a version that didn’t include it and I don’t think I ever saw it. I appreciate the fact that those older gundam shows made it to the states, but I really wish they hadn’t altered them like episode count or opening and ending themes. I remember being super excited for zeta and then the songs were missing from the opening and just had dramatic music- 3575 replies
