Speaking of figuarts, remember that Bretai they teased. And the Char and the Faye. I just hope some things pop up this year

1/48 SOUTHERN CROSS BIOROID PART II
Big s replied to captain america's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Lots of cool bits and pieces. i bitch about having to fix little things on plastic kits that I work on, and you make an entire model from scratch in record time with great detail. It’s really amazing to see especially in this day and age where so many are using 3D printing. I really love seeing those sculpted parts and how you get them so precise even on mirrored parts- 144 replies

Thom, I hope that you can get that creativity rolling and something really great comes from it and someone eventually makes a terrible movie adaptation that people will say “the book was better”

The epoxies are probably the fastest, but I’ve had the best luck with polyester putty from tamiya. That one does take about a day though. I personally don’t like the normal tamiya putties since they don’t seem to stick as well to the surface and have shrinking issues and can take a while to dry for sanding.

The promos still look like they were using 3d prints. Some of those level lines were showing. I’d imagine it will be more smoothed out later and the fit will probably be tighter

[Netflix] He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

He was impressive and frightening. You never want to be the focus of his harsh insults. And he was the lord of destruction as long as you count emotional damage -
Personally, I’m tired of the vf1, I want that teased vf 0 or those last two destroids or some more great Zentraedi mecha

The build is gonna take a bit of time. Lots of seams and some drilling and stuff. If I can clear some space the paint shouldn’t take too long. For the most part it will only be 3 colors, light blue, dark gray and off white. There’s gonna be some things I’m not exactly experienced with, like the rescribing of the panels and setting those clear parts, but I’m gonna do my best and so far things are going alright

Definitely good news everyone

Gonna be leaving soon for tonight’s ritual in Anaheim. It’s my daughters birthday present since Ghost is one of her favorites as well

I think the proportions aren’t that bad especially with some of the scenes being a bit wonky. And you’re right about the rarity. I’ve only seen garage kits and a super expensive action figure that at the time I couldn’t afford

I preordered it earlier. Yeah, that explains how he went to the bathroom after being trapped in there for almost a while day and only having junk food and soda

Started getting some parts on the regult together and putting some panel lining in the lighter panel lines as a guide for scribing. Some lines are deeper and some are very shallow. Hasegawa seems a bit inconsistent, but I think I can manage and if I mess up a bit there’s always putty. also been glueing some parts that been seams removed and will probably drill out the plastic domes where the clear parts should go. Still don’t know why they couldn’t have left those open since there’s so much open space inside and they included the clear parts. Luckily I don’t think it will be too difficult of a fix
-
It’s not really that big an issue, I was really just setting up a guide line. I can just wipe away the scribble. I honestly don’t use them, just got one in as a bonus from some orders recently from USA gundam store. I was was just having a tough time staying in those thin lines. It looked like a preschool kid trying to color by numbers.
-
Definitely a lot of seams, luckily most are just straight lines, so there’s not as many complications on those. The waist joint that the hips attach to have a couple of those shallow panels running across them. I decided to try to mark them with a panel line gundam marker as a bit of a guide to help scribe them a bit deeper and the marker is too thick to even stay in the lines. I think I’ll start posting stuff in the workbench section

Batflek wasn’t bad, but unfortunately his movies were. I’ve probably said it before but I think he was probably the best Bruce Wayne. If they hadn’t tried to put that Batman into the dcu so soon I think there could have been some great films. At least those crappy films won’t be the worst Batman movies

I’m gonna probably drill those holes for the sensors instead of painting them, but I’m actually more worried about doing the penal line work. I guess over the years I’ve gotten to used to Bandai and wave overly thick panels. It’s like one extreme to another

Got my regult in a bit early. Just had to open that box and pull out the runners to take a look. Lot of work ahead to get rid of the seams, but at least it has very few parts with mold lines. And another thing is that it’s been a long time since I’ve done a hasegawa kit and I forgot how shallow the panel lines are. I’m probably gonna have to carve them a bit deeper since their so faint, I’m worried that after primer, paint, gloss, decals and top coat they will just disappear before even getting to the weathering.
