  1. I would probably be interested if they were half the cost. I know that’s unrealistic these days though
  2. The toyrise ones ain’t cheap either. Just less expensive than hmr since they’re much smaller. Toys in general are getting way too overpriced
  3. Those circles on the arms look extremely difficult there
  4. That’s probably the best way to watch the movie. Definitely don’t try and watch it seriously, because it’s pretty bad. But there’s bits here and there that are kinda interesting. Jack Palance is always great to see, but a little weird here with the britishy accent. He is however the best actor in the movie although he’s like 50 years older than his younger brother. I’ll have to try and find the rifftrax version, I didn’t think to search for that and watched to regular version.
  5. Yeah, but those announcements were still a few years back and I haven’t seen Bandai do that kinda thing recently with their kits. Toys on the other hand are a different story
  6. So I did a rewatch last night and honestly for the most part it’s really bad. I remember a lot better. The dialogue is delivered by mostly amateur actors and there’s some really cheesy fights. Oddly the backgrounds look like they’re mostly drawn in by children’s book illustrators and that’s sometimes close backgrounds. Jack Palance plays the oldest older brother ever here for some hilarity. A good majority of the movie is built on the same scene basically done over and over again. A character is in trouble and either the main character or a friend of the main character gets into a challenge with the people causing problems, usually starting with one of the group getting killed off and one or two members being left to challenge a hero character in some way. The music is actually the best part of the movie and mostly because it’s weird and catchy. Like an odd mix of renaissance fair and disco. It sounds like a horrible match, but I gotta give credit to whoever did this soundtrack bet the made that awkward mix somehow work, like I said it’s really kinda catchy the way it’s set up. It could easily have been something more to add to the train wreck of a movie, but here it stands out and kinda makes things feel bigger than they really are.
  7. I completely agree with you. The stuff I’ve seen has pretty always had a decent or even great group of actors and the visual effects are pretty much at the top as well. Unfortunately the writing is often where the stories fall apart. Sometimes it’s too much of an agenda or sometimes it’s expecting everyone to have watched a cartoon, but most of the time it’s just pure stupidity
  8. I do love em, but that’s more of a story of a couple of alpha males clashing and causing a breakup. Although the more interesting story for them is the post breakup. A few years afterwards is when their stuff really gained popularity mostly due to Cliff Burton always wearing their shirts and tattoos since he was a major fan. That oddly made a massive push for their logos on T shirts and rereleases of albums to hit a totally new generation. Merch alone has made them one of the most recognized in the biz and I still see plenty of skaters and punks and goths and metal heads wearing their stuff to this day. The popularity of their stuff made the brothers Doyle and Jerry Only want to reform the band. Of course Danzig was already huge with his own career and really didn’t take too much interest until recently leading to a revolving door of vocalists. Again lots of clashing before things cooled down enough for a somewhat proper reunion.
  9. The cheapest option is probably the hg kit. It’s practically toy like, but requires some assembly. Although it is a modern Bandai kit, so assembly is fairly simple
  10. Bandai has been a bit better with their model teases lately. They usually get a tease then almost immediately a preorder. Not too long ago, there’d be a teaser image and then not even a prototype. I remember the rg gm and a few other Zeon kits that never happened.
  11. Looks amazing
  12. Yeah, gotta get the friends over that love a good bad movie
  13. The first one was pretty wild, lots of crazy kills to be seen.
  14. Yeah, there was a lot of odd stuff that came up about a month after her taking over the band. I honestly didn’t know until everything was coming up about her then.
  15. I know he took over the band at a strange certain point, but my personal favorite era for the band was that first album. And that’s really a band that has had one of the absolute strangest histories of any band in existence. Lots of drama, splits and dual bands and death and even a bit of a tie in story with a mass murderer thrown in as a bit of an odd side note.
  16. I think it’s the eyes and the color
  17. I think better is a tough way to label a type of music most of the time, but I definitely like Bauhaus a lot more. Less pop more dark. I personally really love the first album by Christian Death, but if I were to call it better than most goth or death rock, there would be plenty that think that Only Theatre of Pain is horribly annoying. Or Personally think that Type O Negative is way more entertaining than Marylin Manson or that Minisistry is my pick above Rob Zombie, but I don’t really like to throw the term better as much anymore and really try my best not to use it as much these days. But there are definitely things I personally prefer over a lot of other things. Although I’m sure I sometimes still use the term better by accident here and there.
  18. I’m with you there. He is willing to give warnings about the dangers of the alien species, but doesn’t seem to care much beyond that and also seems in on the transmissions, but doesn’t want to do anything about it. Almost as if he’s either doing his own experiments or just doesn’t think these new bots are worthy of being held up as more advanced than himself. I kinda get the feeling that things have to be standardized at least as far as connections. They’ve gotten to the point where people have to be put in hibernation and have to have their tech up and running when they reach a settlement that might still rely on tech from many years before. Not saying there aren’t technical leaps, but just that they probably have to be done in a way to keep people connected over large distances that take some long travel times. Things are probably just designed for basic compatibility
  19. I just saw the preview yesterday and was kinda surprised there’d be a sequel. Especially so soon
  20. BBTs price is pretty high at $99. I’ll wait and see if anyone has it where I might have some points. I haven’t really wanted a spidey figure in a while
  21. Wal Mart being in charge would definitely be pretty bad for the population. They’ve had so many controversies over employee pay and overtime discrepancies over the years, it might make Wayland seem generous and caring
  22. Just saw the og listed on Amazon, might rewatch it this weekend. I don’t know that these movies really need remakes, but rather just original films. The og dark fantasy questionable budget films were great, but probably don’t really have a name recognition that’s gonna bring a new or even old audience. I’d rather they just make new stories. I think there’s plenty of room for brutal low budget fantasy movies these days.
  23. Hlj is at least a hold your item kinda place, but I had an order I totally forgot about a hobby search that just came in stock. Not sure how that’s gonna go. It was only a $20 item and if not for shipping being stopped, it might’ve gotten that $80 fee tagged on top of shipping making a stupid little purchase something far more premium than it should be. I’ll probably have to email them regarding the situation
  24. It beats the usual method of cat distribution where a family member says something along the lines of “look what I found in the trash, I think we belong to it now”
