Pretty sure they can find a way around the actors, but the important thing here is an iconic soundtrack. Soundtracks have been lacking for a few decades and it was something that truly elevated a pretty cool movie back in the 80’s and truly made the original Highlander and absolute all around great movie, even though it really wasn’t a perfect movie. I still think some things could have been written better, but I don’t think about that since the movie is so immersive with scenery, action and sounds throughout.

I’d love to see pictures of how that turned out. It sounds cool. I’ve made most of my early model choices due to being poor as well. My dad would sometimes buy me a kit as a kid, but beyond that, I’d have to figure out tools and glue and stuff. Nail clippers, borrowed nail buffing stuff from my mom and sneaking nail polish. Although she would always scold me about the nail polish due to the smell. I’d lie and say I hadn’t used it, but that smell gave it away every time

I actually did do a flat coat on top and they still kept a slight metallic sheen to them. Just enough to give a bit of a scaled mechanical look and not turn totally gray like a lot of other metallics. My favorites that I’d recommend would be silver, Gold and copper. They look surprisingly great after a couple coats, but you may want to do a quick top coat between them since they tend to reactivate on a second pass. I’m not as skilled as others and some people get a great pass first time. The top coat isn’t super necessary if you get a good first pass and the area isn’t gonna be touched afterwards though.

The version I always wish for, but rarely see. I think the armor looks best on the 1a, especially with the extra kind head laser

Wow, white out is something I never got desperate enough to try. I do however still use sharpies on details here and there. The metallic ones do great for mechanical parts since they’re very smooth and don’t really have a flaky look even though they’re a bit duller. Oddly they still look like the dull metal in stuff like engine components even after a little dull coat.all the gold and silver around the eye and the pistons and gun barrel parts were done with metallic sharpies. I kinda like that they aren’t distractingly shiny, but they do still catch the light depending on the lighting.

You gotta do the setup with them all facing the camera in line, like a full transformation scene

He did, but he still looks stronger than the average Hollywood actor these days and he definitely can act a thousand times better than what I’ve seen from the Rock.

I think the eyes should have been level with the person inside, but that probably would remove the lower jaw. But I still think it would look better that way

Best paint for Bandai DX plastic? (adhesion/durability)
Big s replied to David Hingtgen's topic in The Workshop!
I’m always afraid of enamels on toys, because if it accidentally gets on the wrong plastics, it can turn into a perma goo layer that stays forever sticky. I’ve also never had enamel stick as well to a project as with lacquer. Still usually better than basic acrylics though -

It shouldn’t. I would say heat it up just enough to where the plastic gets bendy, then before it cools too much to put the weapon in hand and then dip it in a bowl of ice water while holding the weapon to keep its new shape -
Yeah, this one definitely fits in the fan fiction area

Nice to see the updates in this one, especially due to scarcity of an actual build for this kit
-
Yup. Basically just take the preexisting thing and recolor it and call it new

Looks like a fun game.

That’s the odd thing is that no matter how packed the boxes are in most cases everything still fits easily in the boxes after construction

Can you heat the hands with a blow dryer to get them soft enough to grip the weapons and then ice bath to hold the new pose? that was the trick for a lot of toys, but I’ve never opened one of the reactions -
For me, it was a few of the wave Votoms kits and they have a bunch of little runners instead of the bigger ones like Bandai and I would check out the contents, but I could never get the boxes back together without a bulge at the top
-
Wave isn’t the best at judging box sizes. Sometimes there too much room and other times everything barely fits unless you repack everything exactly the way they were originally packaged after inspection

Maybe they found it after all that moving they were doing

Please post as many pics as possible, this one rarely gets seen

It always amazes me how you can turn tape into something cool like that.
