The one of mine that I sold to another member got a tracking number late Friday (~noon Saturday in Japan), then arrived at Tokyo International on Sunday (~2am my time, 1400 Japan time).

EDIT: also this (go to 0:35 if video doesn't start there)

I'mma go ahead and post the Google translations of the 13 reviews so far into spoiler tags to save space. tl;dr - 1-star reviews: - difficult transformation - tail fins are loose (whether one or the other or both) - some joints too loose, many too tight - one reviewer complains that it's a bad DX because you can't play with it My general impression: These folks didn't know what they were getting into. 2-star reviews: - same complaints as above: tight joints, broken head antenna, difficult transformation, etc. - one reviewer says it feels lower-quality than Advance - tail fins are a different shape from the Advance (maybe talking about corrected paint job?) - tan color is "1 to 1.5 steps brighter" than Advance - has same problems as Advance (including a tight foot extension?) - same complaints about the heels as have been mentioned here - one reviewer suggests keeping a screwdriver on hand to tighten the screw on the bottom side of the main wing to keep it tight - accessories are nicely molded/painted with no flash, sprue marks, etc. - packaging is good - one reviewer includes pictures: https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/customer-reviews/R2ANAQU2V9OWB0/ref=cm_cr_getr_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B07CMT92SS My general impression: More reasoned criticism than the 1-star reviews. They were more disappointed than not, but weren't looking for a bad time, if you know what I mean. 3-star reviews: - emphasize you're best off sticking with one mode and leaving it - one reviewer complains about their love/hate cycle with DXes - one reviewer compares it to Arcadia, says this is more like a model, Arcadia is more like a toy (easier to transform) My general impression: 2- and 3-star reviews are where you should look for good reasoned critique. 4-star review: - recommends loosening tight heels with a hair dryer and gentle rocking - transformation is easy to get used to if you're familiar with earlier YF-19 toys - repeats the point that it's not a toy you should play with casually My general impression: Reviewer knows what they're doing, what they got themselves into, what to expect.

As per seti, it's the engine model. FF-2200. The tampo seems to be taken from Hidetaka Tenjin's illustration of the YF-19 for the Hasegawa 1/48 box art (which, frankly, has a much more appealing markings layout in general than this toy does).

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
kajnrig replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
I'm irrationally upset that Delta makes up half of that concert. And still no Sharon Apple... or Sara Nome either, I guess, she had a pretty good single. But seriously, you'd think with literal virtual idols existing that Sharon would have made a comeback by now. -
^That. That is basically what I'll do with mine. ...probably. Much as I prefer the bare wings, the dumb gaudy stenciling is growing on me. Any ideas on doing the same to some of the other areas? I'm thinking the "NETFC" that was elsewhere on the plane (I think the tail fins?), maybe the FF-2200 on the legs/above the wing roots... Oh also, just want to confirm then that the tan is bare plastic and not paint?

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
kajnrig replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
So... where'd this news of a new Delta movie and/or series come from? -
That... didn't really answer my question, but I appreciate the response. I was asking if the doors are (reasonably) accurate to the original or if they were shortened by half to make room for what I'm presuming is the waist rotation. I know the hinged landing gear is a carry-over from the Advance. I'd argue that the Arcadia has its own inaccuracies that make it about on par with the DX in terms of accuracy. Thank you for also missing the point. I never said anything about line art accuracy, much less demanded it. I mean, there IS something to be said about adhering to the source material, knowing of course that concessions must be made for reality. There's also something to be said for this being especially true if you're going to make a $300 halo product. But that's getting away from the point. To answer my own question, I took some screenshots from the movie, the only ones I remember seeing the YF-19 with gears deployed. I couldn't find any art/sketches/etc. of the landing gear on the MMM. And it appears to be one of those things that, like the rest of the VF, can be liberally interpreted. The Hasegawa kits have it extend as far back as the base of the intakes, the Yamato/Arcadia toys extend it to about midway between the front and base of the intakes, and the Bandai DX cuts it off prematurely... which actually is fairly close to what it looks like in the last screenshot. Seems the primary concern in all cases was simply to allow the landing gear struts to fit inside the wells (or in Hasegawa's case, to appear to allow the struts to fit inside). So y'all can put down your pitchforks and stop making this about something it's not now. Yeesh.

Question: Is the front landing gear accurate, or did they fudge it to add the hip rotation/some other articulation? I know for sure the landing gear itself is inaccurate folding in half like that, but what about the bay doors? The Hasegawa model shows longer doors that extend to the base of the air intakes, but I know that details get fudged around a lot for this particular VF.

All Things Videogame Related: EXTREME VS!!

I was talking about the new character shown around the 2:30 mark. In other gaming news, Telltale is shutting down and has laid off 90% of its team. That's a damn crying shame. http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/327085/Report_The_Walking_Dead_developer_Telltale_Games_shutting_down.php- 6837 replies

So because of this: It brings me to a previously asked question: Might Bandai be able to sell the YF-19 and other M+ merch (like a YF-21? Eh? Ehhhh????) locally?

Would that be on top of the asking price, then? So it's not 32400 JPY shipped internationally, but 32400 JPY + ~$11 shipped internationally?
-
I've linked an interested person to your post, thanks. They might or might not PM you, I dunno.
-
Speaking of, Amazon Japan is currently sitting at 32,400 shipped, though I don't know if that's with international shipping. There are others cheaper with free/Prime shipping, but the free shipping options are Japan-only, and I don't think the Prime covers international shipping. Anyone know?
-
Calmed my nerves. Thanks.
-
For those who have this in their Private Warehouse, what are the available shipping options/costs?

Not me... :'(

Personally, I'm not too worried about HLJ. I'm thinking they'll wait til after the weekend before charging. I seem to remember them doing this before. They also have a listed release date of 9/29. Well, before changing it to Discontinued, anyway.
-
https://hlj.com/product/BANN55061 The pages themselves are never removed, you just can't find them through the normal searches anymore. There's the page in case you want to keep checking in the next few days/weeks/months.../years?
-
Has anyone gotten a payment request from HLJ yet? And actually, now I think about it, isn't it possible for this to be made available internationally? Considering M+ managed to get through the HG firewall, I'd imagine that merchandise might also be able to make it through...?
-
Oh, I do use Chrome. Sometimes it has trouble translating Amazon.co.jp pages, though, at least in my experience. Also, did not know about this. Tonight has been a learning night.
