I see "hot topic," I click. What's going on? A reissue? Someone got new stock?

"Millennial," as used by Pew, covers anyone born between 1981 and 1996. But in general, it's used en masse by old people as a catch-all for all the damnable rapscallions and you young'uns get off my lawn!!!!! that had the temerity to be born after them. Anyway, yeah, plenty of "millennials," however you define it, have seen and remember RH1 and 2. I'm actually reminded of just how frakking old I am, that I can barely remember them anymore...

Yep, you're thinking of Hobby Base's Mechanical Hand line. They make 'em in both 1/100 and 1/144, and I think there have been variations on them since their debut - color, style, etc. https://hlj.com/1-100-scale-mechanical-hand-100-angled-g-gray-ylsppc-tn83 https://hlj.com/1-144-scale-mechanical-hand-144-angled-g-gray-ylsppc-tn87 You're right about them being a bit big. IIRC the 1/144 ones were about the same size and shape as the HGUC Unicorn I got at the same time, but the 1/100 ones were a little big even for a Zeon MG (which already have slightly bigger hands than their Gundam counterparts).

They made a 1/24 RX-78 that will have hands slightly larger than in the kit Darth Mingus linked. https://hlj.com/1-24-scale-rx-78-2-gundam-hyper-hybrid-model-ban900878 But good luck finding that for a sane price on the used market; they easily go above $2k nowadays, maybe reaching up there towards $3k. Kotobukiya made a 1/1 model kit of a Border Break mecha, but I don't think it was ever anything more than a publicity stunt.

It's totally the framerate. Instead of locking to key poses for a longer period of time and using an animation shortcut between them to impart a sense of movement, the studio chose to simply render fewer frames across an entire animation. It's way easier and more cost-effective (which is why you see it used a lot nowadays), but doesn't look nearly as convincing because more of those extraneous in-between poses stay on screen for longer. For my part, after seeing the first... 2?... episodes, I don't know why they didn't just do this in live action with a really high CGI budget. It's not like they didn't already fully mo-cap the scenes and aren't slavishly recreating the look and feel (and acting caliber) of low-budget tokusatsu shows. They could also surely have saved some money by not modeling all of Tokyo down to the finest detail...

Been seeing weirdly universal praise for this movie. My pessimism is still going strong, but... Hm... Anyway, why I'm here:

Isn't the first part of that kind of what happens in the Batman-in-fuedal-Japan anime?

Dunno if true, but that's actually a pretty damn fine pick. He's proven to be a great dramatic actor.

Oh okay. I didnt know who played which Flash or even if different people played the different Flashes, much less what happened if anything.

They're saying there should have been solo movies before the big JL team-up, a team which is now missing its Batman (ie Affleck left) and apparently its Flash. I was asking if he meant movie Flash (Ezra Miller?) or TV Flash (???).

Which Flash? The TV Flash and Movie Flash are played by different actors, right? I don't keep up with DC news much, but I remember seeing recently that James Gunn confirmed (or at least the news came out with him as part of the context) that SS2 would be a full-on reboot with the same cast (sans apparently Smith). Was this the basis for Heath Ledger Joker's penchant to make up origin stories? "Wanna know how I got these scars?"

Yo, that actually looks really badass. Is that a Neptunia thing or something?

Joker's never been a character that needed a backstory, but setting aside all things Joker, this looks to be a good movie nonetheless. Like azrael said, he doesn't look like The Joker, just A Joker, but that's totally fine. (Thank god WB are finally figuring their crap out.) I imagine it'll be its own thing like the Batman movies have been up 'til Justice League, which can only be a good thing. It would be interesting if they took this in the direction that Telltale did with their Batman game. Really, everyone in that game got an interesting twist to their character that really livened up the story.

First episode of the new Twilight Zone is up on Youtube, the rest on CBS's All Access subscription service. (You'll have to click the link; it can't be embedded because they must have checked a "no embedding" box or something.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19GO8-Rrn0g

Hey, so I recently won a bundle listing off YJA that included a model kit I wanted but also some figures. (A real steal, too; everything plus shipping/fees still cost less than if I bought just the kit + shipping/fees.) I'm working to identify them and find out info about them. (Character name, scale, manufacturer, etc.) I'm hoping one of you might be able to help answer some lingering questions I have. So the figures are... - 1/7 Wave "Dream Tech" Tomoyo Sakagami (from Clannad: ~After Story~) https://myfigurecollection.net/item/25760 - 1/7 Max Factory Fujisawa Yayoi (from Stellvia) https://myfigurecollection.net/item/973 - "Keitai Musume"/Cell Phone Girl, combination 1/6 figure and acrylic phone stand ...and my questions are: 1) What does "Dream Tech" refer to? Is it another company, perhaps the production company of the figure (ie Dream Tech makes the figure, Wave distributes it)? Is it a certain line of Wave figures? If so, what differentiates it from other Wave figures? etc. 2) Who are the manufacturers of the Keitai Musume figure? I see "Bell Fine" everywhere including on the box, but I also sometimes see a "Liao-something something" on the web, and need a confirmation. 3) Any information in general about the Keitai Musume figure? There appears to be several of these having started releasing over the past year or so, but I can't find these figures on MFC. Is this from an anime series? A video game? Maybe it's a mascot? etc. Thanks in advance.

GM Sniper has a bona fide decal sheet, but otherwise it's a straight color swap.
