  1. I haven't had time to pore over the slides, but Gamers Nexus pointed out that they were doing some tricky things with the numbers, to the point that at least one comparison had a 1080Ti with RT on versus a 3000-series with RT and DLSS on. Obviously, the 1080Ti's lack of RT hardware or support for DLSS would put it at a major disadvantage against a 30xx with RT hardware and support for DLSS. It's harder to suss out what the raw, RT-agnostic generational improvement is, though I'm sure it's decently significant even in that regard.
  2. Yep, bought the game on PC over the weekend because of this news. Been having a blast bringing my PC save up to par with PS4. Cheat Engine and easy-peasy mods make it that much more fun, too. Someone on Nexus Mods released a mod for the TLS that changes its behavior to more closely mimic its portrayal in AC5 and AC0, rendering the Falken et al completely broken in campaign mode. There's even a mod by the same user to make all unlocked parts, including multiplayer-only ones, usable in campaign. No more Level 1 parts only. Whoever that modder is, I'd love to learn how they bypassed the encryption on the game files to edit them. Imagine modding the ADFX-01 Morgan's burst missile to finally have the range and power that it should have. Imagine then opening up Cheat Engine and giving yourself infinite ammo and zero reload time...
  3. It's a moderator general policy. All RIP threads have lock dates because... well, I'm sure the mods can explain their reasoning better, but I imagine it's to reduce clutter on the front pages. RIP threads don't generally attract too much discussion beyond condolences and such for the first few days after the person's passing. That said... I reiterate my previous comment: Sigh.
  4. Wrote this on FB: Anyway, here's hoping this movie is still in theaters this time next year. Or does a second run, I dunno. Nolan's movies have their issues, but they do justify the theater experience.
  5. Not Gundam-related: Moderoid ED-209 preorder: https://www.hlj.com/moderoid-ed-209-robocop-gsc13109
  6. Meanwhile, I picked up an RX 580 for $100 and put that in the nephew's new computer. That thing is a frickin' truck.
  7. I already wasn't a COD fan, but there was also this bit of news that reminded me, "Oh yeah, this is Activision we're talking about." https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2020-08-25-activision-removes-tiananmen-square-footage-in-call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-trailer-after-china-ban
  8. Do RDs get rereleased ever? The GP01 and GP02A were both extremely popular (or at least their lack of availability would suggest as much), and while I managed to snag me a GP01 for a good price after release, the GP02A is proving to be more problematic.
  9. That's not really a third-party figure, it's an official figure from IIRC a niche Kickstarter game that made it big over there.
  10. Was this thread where y'all discussed this Gurren Lagann figure? Well, regardless, there's a reissue of it up for preorder at HLJ: https://www.hlj.com/ccstoys-tengen-toppa-gurren-lagann-gurren-lagann-alloy-action-figure-reissue-ccs07000-2 Also, I forget if this was in the Gunpla thread, here, or if there was a Moderoid or otherwise dedicated thread, but Sentinel have a Lazengann model kit upcoming. I figure it's relevant because their model kit of the Gurren Lagann was IIRC based on their Riobot figure. https://www.hlj.com/plaiobot-tengen-toppa-gurren-lagann-lazengann-set88349
  11. Wouldn't you just... follow the ScorchedEarth video in reverse?
  12. I don't know of any better place to put this, but I had to share: https://www.hlj.com/pai-pai-nyan-cuddly-kitties-on-soft-titties-photo-album-gks31388 Japan you continue to confound me and pique my interest in equal measure.

    Macross figures

Well, at least the shipping is free.
  14. Oh wow, completely forgot, here you are: The show loves keeping her a ball of anxiety, so... kind of. Small steps, each season.
  15. That is, uh... That is one hell of a thumbnail.
  16. Former Intel principal engineer on, well, how to fix Intel. An hour long, so get some popcorn ready.
  17. I haven't followed this at all. Is this a different release from their original VF-4? ...was there an original VF-4?
  18. Saw this in my feed today, I'm pretty sure this was being talked about a few pages ago?
  19. The 00 line is just becoming incestuous at this point. The Exia feeds into the 00, they both feed into the Quanta, the Quanta feeds back into this Exia... Next thing you'll see is 00 Gundam Repair XN Raiser 7S/G Full Saber GN Condenser Type (Trans Am Mode).
  20. You talking about this one? If not, show me please. EDIT: Ugh. The timing on seeing this news certainly wasn't great. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/two-air-tankers-collide-mid-air-while-fighting-nevada-wildfire-n1235398
  21. You weren't kidding. That thing got LOOOOOOW.
  22. This was asked previous page, but what's the "Black Ace" connection? What's up also with the Gadsden Flag lookalike? The spade I get - VFA-41 Black Aces - but the snake? Setting aside modern US political usage, it doesn't make sense in the context of VFA-41, Calibre Wings, or Macross Zero... unless I'm missing something.
  23. So people seem to be making a big connection between this motorized deck and Macross, but it's... not, right? Like it's not based on anything specifically Macross and is just an aircraft carrier deck/elevator, right? Just want clarification on that, since there seems to be some cross-talk with the Shin F-14 release.
