All Things Videogame Related: EXTREME VS!!

Seconded. Also the 3DS Assault Horizon Legacy. It was a complete remake of AC2, and it revamped the... whatever the "close-up dogfight" mechanic was in the original Assault Horizon. In Legacy, it's a special bar that you fill up and use to automatically evade missiles and/or get around to an enemy's tail for a quick one-hit kill. (I think, anyway. Going off of trailers and reviews.) I'd have loved to see the PSP-specific superfighters rendered in high resolution.- 6837 replies

^ Sorry, I was trying to be sarcastic/facetious. It seems that yet again, the internet strikes! ...also *looks over at DX YF-29* Shut up, b-baka! It's not like I even like them or anything...!

Ah yes, I forgot to mention stateside stores as well. I also know that Tatsu Hobby regularly preorders/reorders P-Bandai items. I'm sure if you contact them, they'll be willing to get some of those for you. I bought the P-Bandai Powered GM, Tallgeese III, and Heavyarms Kai through them, and the price was... I'd like not to think about the price, but that's to be expected. I've bought from them for years and have never had any issues with them.

P-Bandai has information about that. Basically, use third-party proxy services. http://p-bandai.jp/bc/images/net-s_tokushu/international_delivery.html They officially partner with Buyee, which is apparently also the official proxy service of Yahoo Auctions Japan; From Japan (the one I use, I've not had any issues with it), Samurai Buyer, and De Japan. EDIT: To order (from From Japan, at any rate), you just go to the P-Bandai product page, copy the URL, and enter it into From Japan's search bar.

Yeah, they show it (intentionally, I think) in all three liveries: plain, then with either of the two emblems/itasha. I agree it looks best without the gaudy emblem, but I think that of all the oversized emblems going back to Ozma's -25S.

Hey, I saw this at GE! Nice to see you here, hope you enjoy the boards. I'm still loving the shading you did here.

John Wick (2014), Chapter 2 (2017), and Chapter 3 (2019)
kajnrig replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I got the impression that it was up to the owner(/maitre-d?) to decide how the person dies. If I remember the movies right (I watched them, enjoyed them immensely, but immediately forgot most of the details), the guy who first breaks the rules got led to an alley and shot? And then John Wick got the same-ish treatment, but instead of death by execution/firing squad, he gets sentenced to death by assassination out of respect.- 220 replies

So do you mean that on top of the bank's conversion fee, ZM/Buyee charge their own conversion fee? So like, let's say conversion rate is 100 yen:1 dollar, bank charges 1% fee, FJ charges nothing of their own, ZM charges 3%, Buyee charges 3%. You want to deposit 10,000 yen. From Japan = $101 ZenMarket = $104 (+$1 bank, +$3 ZM) Buyee = $104 (+$1 bank, +$3 Buyee) That about right? If so, that's really super crap. Even more so with Buyee and their 5% of the auction price, too.
-
Adding funds: - Conversion rate is determined by however you pay. If using Paypal, use Paypal's normal 3(.5?)% foreign transaction fee. If using a credit card (or if you use CC through Paypal and choose to use the bank's foreign transaction fee), the rate is whatever your card issuer/bank charges. (The bank I use charges 1%.) Looking at my FJ receipt for two separate orders that were shipped together (I'll just add them together)... Charge 1: - cost of item (7499 yen) Charge 1 Total = 7499 yen Charge 2: - domestic delivery (1330 yen) - payment fee (400 yen) (explanation in spoiler, same as 300 yen ZM fee?) - Domestic insurance (1400 yen) (I shouldn't have bothered, I misread it when I purchased it) - Tax on Charge 1 (599 yen) - Overseas shipping (2900 yen) - Int'l shipping insurance (none) - Consolidation fee (500 yen) (flat fee regardless of how many purchases consolidated, 10 separate purchases consolidated is still 500 yen total) - "Excess charge" (0 yen) (I'm guessing a credit applied if you get charged too much) - Customs (0 yen) - Any surcharge (0 yen) (Dunno how this would ever be more than 0) - Box fee (0 yen) (Dunno about this, probably if you want FJ to repackage the items into their own boxes) - Extra services (0 yen) (Similarly dunno about this, not sure what "extra services" they offer) - Combination extension fee (0 yen) (I think this is if you hold items for more than 30 days) - Charge 2 extension fee (0 yen) (Similarly, I think this is if you don't pay Charge 2 in a timely fashion) Charge 2 Total = 7129 yen ---------------- Despite that wall of text, I think (emphasis on think) FJ is more or less comparable to ZM. Looking at your (spacemanoeuvres) post, most of the charges match, and the ones that were added are mostly my own fault.

Maybe delete your cookies for the site? I just bought some stuff using them and obviously could load the site just fine. As far as rates go, FJ used to be fairly complicated a la Buyee, but they've simplified to a format similar to ZM since a few months ago. They still have a consolidation fee of 500 yen, but I don't think they have a conversion rate... could be wrong, though. I'll check my last purchase and let you all know.

It would be nice to see some more stuff brought into the game, but all the same... I'm buying this regardless. Because it's Shadows of the Colossus, see.- 6837 replies

Only tangentially related to Macross, but an item I'm having shipped by SAL just left Japan - the Figuarts Zero Mirage figure. The tracking page lists it has having left "TOKYO INT V BAG 2". I've never heard of that before; usually I see the name of the airport. Anyone seen that before and/or can clarify what it means? I have my guesses, but I figured I'd ask. Thanks.

I decided not to bite on the 31J because I was waiting for this. I'm glad to see it already out for preorder. Ordered 2 myself.

New episode, still hate the music but I'mma stop beating that dead horse from now on. The entire episode is more or less a dedicated "Coming From America" sequence, which I'm totally fine with. The editing could have been better - it keeps cutting back and forth with modern day events that aren't as interesting, to be honest (mainly because the plot moves along so slowly) - but all in all, it tells a great personal story.

Summary/commentary: - Individual shoulder "petals" are movable, fairly easily, too. Shoulder itself is still on a slide-rail for bird mode/re-entry mode. - I still hate the chest opening gimmick. It's even more pronounced on here than it was on the Freedom/Providence. - About 10 seconds in, you get a decent look at the face, and it appears the right ear is closed and the left is open and has that extra fin. Later on, you see a shot behind the closed right ear and see a white fin piece hiding, so chances are that area is articulated as well. - The arm rotation joint, typically on the bicep somewhere, looks to be on the forearm this time. That doesn't bode well for articulation; I'm reminded of the old 90s 1/100 kits. - Way more wing articulation. I wonder if it wouldn't be simpler at this point to just give you a flexible wire mesh and a whole bunch of feathers to stick into it as you see fit. - Leg articulation seems largely unchanged from older kits. - Side skirts are on a hinge that swings forward to cover the side of the legs. Guess is it's related to the bird mode transformation. - Twin buster rifle has undergone some major changes, which were already visible on pictures before the video but it's still noteworthy. The handles were moved forward (or the buttstock lengthened) making for a longer stock. - The handles also feature a secondary bar that extends from the bottom of the handle back and up, forming a triangular space for the hands to fit in. - This video showed bird mode without the TBR attached, though I remember seeing a picture where it was. I imagine the videographers simply forgot or chose not to incorporate them. Seems like the TBR changes would make for increased difficulty handling it, and indeed, the shots of the Wing Zero holding it look awkward and clumsy. In both poses (standing and a dynamic midair pose) the buttstock is tucked beneath the WZ's shoulder, resembling more a bazooka than a gun (you see the same pose on a lot of Zakus). The dynamic pose reveals the contortions the hand has to make to grip the handle of the gun due to the extra piece of plastic introduced for the redesign.

Agreed, and yet if they repeated their Idolmaster skins or introduced Macross Deculture itasha I'd be all over that.

Get enough to do the transformation from fighter to gerwalk where it does a backflip and a barrel roll. That'd be something...

What's DCS? Anyway, yeah, it's definitely more arcade than sim. The newest one, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon (available on PC if you want to try the games out, though it's kind of an outlier in the series), is especially arcadey, with default controls auto-leveling your aircraft. The older PS2-era games at least default the movement to a more simulation-ish style; left stick controls pitch and roll, just like a real flight stick, R1/L1 are airbrake/throttle, R2/L2 are yaw.
