  1. The VF-2 has a fin there, I think they're just modding it for... ease of transformation? It's not a "RVF" mod.
  2. Thanks for the tip. Has there been instances of preorders reopening (not due to customer cancellation)? Like Bandai/Yamcadia/etc. decide to up production numbers or something.
  3. Would NY be in on this as well? They're currently undergoing maintenance, unfortunately.
  4. Closed @HLJ now. Now I see why some of you do this regularly. It's a bit of a rush.
  5. Amiami and HS sold out within literal seconds. Sheesh. Here's hoping my HLJ order went through alright. How'd you all find the link? I kept refreshing a search page for "Laevatein" and didn't see it. EDIT: Order confirmed!
  6. Hm... now that I take a good look at them, maybe I exaggerated things a bit. What initially seemed like vastly different transitions from main body to wing roots actually looks to be relatively the same between all the M7 VF-19s. The major areas needing different molds would be the shoulders, the head, and the "neck" of the VF-19 behind the cockpit. All of which are easy enough to engineer. Still, though, I don't think there's much clamoring for the M7 VF-19 variants; everyone seems to prefer the original prototype look. IIRC, Hasegawa released a M7-schemed VF-11C kit... though what the differences between it and M+'s VF-11B are, i don't know.
  7. I've been checking HLJ and no such listing yet. I'm guessing it'll just be up in an hour's time.
  8. In addition to Noel's pics, here are some more "naturally-lit" screenshots: IIRC, there's not much info on what if anything separates the Delta VF-171 from the Frontier VF-171 aside from the color scheme. The Mecha Colle kit of the Delta variant calls it the "Rim World Model." The VF-171 fleet aboard the Macross Frontier eventually gets modified to the VF-171EX standard (starting with Alto's custom paint), incorporating Vajra-specific weaponry and support for EX Gear. Luca's ride probably has those same modifications, so it's probably an EX as well in all but name. Also IIRC, the Frontier VF-171 is never depicted with Super packs until the EX upgrade; the Delta variant is never depicted with Supers at all. Hypothetically, all the variants, including Luca's RVF, could probably equip Super equipment. Thus far (and again IIRC) the known VF-171 variants, not including the original VF-17, are: - VF-171 Nightmare Plus (Frontier colors) - VF-171 Nightmare Plus (Delta colors, "Rim World Model") - VF-171EX Nightmare Plus (Frontier colors) - VF-171EX Nightmare Plus (Alto colors) - VF-171EX Nightmare Plus (Maruyama colors, has a large Sheryl decal on top fuselage) - VF-171EX Nightmare Plus (Hero Shot Vajra-Puncher Guy colors????) - RVF-171(EX?) Nightmare Plus (Luca colors) Unlike the VF-19A or VF-19EF/A, all of the Macross 7 VF-19s are pretty radical departures from the basic shape of the YF-19, and even from each other. Different curves, different lines, etc. They'd have to create a lot from scratch for each kit, probably to the point that they would barely eke out a profit or not profit at all.
  9. I've had some success by thinning Testors clear green and brushing it on in as thin layers as I can. But even then, it was a mild success at best. Oh, and in case anyone's interested, I'm getting rid of some Gunpla: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/45310-more-odds-and-ends-gundam-kits tl;dr: New MG Launcher/Sword Strike - $40 New MG Kampfer - $40 New MG Freedom - $35 New HGUC Xekueins - $10 Free shipping on MGs if you opt to have me preassemble them and discard the original box.
  10. Same. I have two of the Koto kits preordered, as well as the MB Arbalest and the Aoshima Laevatein. The Koto kit will complement the Koto Laevatein nicely (which also sports the original design from the novels/manga), and the Aoshima kit will fit in with the other Aoshima FMP kits I already have (though I wonder if perhaps I should go for the 1.5 re-releases of those as well, seems like they did some extensive re-engineering). I'll wait to see how satisfied I am with those before going in for the Bandai stuff.
  11. Bandai kits up for preorder now: Arbalest - https://hlj.com/product/BANN22260/Sci M9 Gernsback - https://hlj.com/product/BANN22261/Sci M9 Gernsback Commander Ver. - https://hlj.com/product/BANN25741/Sci
  12. Gamers Nexus on some of the myths/misinformation surrounding Meltdown and Spectre:
  13. I've done all of the above and they're all good strategies.
  14. Holy christ that voiceover actively discourages me from buying this game.
  15. How many masks will you include in each pack? At the moment, I'd be down for enough to cover 5-7 kits (assuming no major screwups on my end), though I imagine I'll probably buy more for future projects as well.
  16. My first guess would have been a heavily modded Hasegawa kit as well. Where did you find this? The 1/100 advertisement might be a result of the seller not having done their research... Since Gundam kits are typically 1/144 and 1/100, they might have assumed this was just a Gundam model.
  17. For my part, I was already in for just the canopy masks, so anything extra is icing on the cake. If you're going to do the UN Spacy logo, will you also do masks for the kite itself, or just the circle? (Like I said, I'm already good with what's there, just asking for curiosity's sake.)
  18. Goku and Vegeta I absolutely loathe not from a character standpoint - I loved the DBZA Cell fight ("No!" "No!" "NO!" "YEESSSSSSS!!!!") - but just because of the dumb way Toriyama constantly power creeps them. What are they up to now? Like seven levels of Super Saiyan, two new Super Saiyan modes on top of that, and now a blue-hair "Prestige Mode" Super Saiyan?
  19. This man is a ferocious Yakuza who regularly beats people to a bloody pulp using nothing but his fists.
  20. Picked up DBFZ as a birthday gift for a friend, and we'll be playing it tomorrow night. Since I couldn't get in on EVEN ONE match during the Beta... -______________- ...it'll be my first time playing the game. From what I've heard, it has some very easy controls, which is great since I don't have a good arcade stick to work with. It's a six-button fighter, but in the style of MVC3 - light, medium, strong attack, "special" ie ki blasts, and I think a tag attack and a chase button to round it off. Who should I go with first? I'm thinking Krillin, Piccolo, and... Gohan? Just going off of my favorites from DBZ Abridged. I know absolutely NOTHING about this show.
  21. I was confused, too. From just the name I was thinking something from Gundam with the YF-19 paint/markings. Then I saw the pictures and was thinking maybe the UC Hardgraph 1/35 Hovertruck kit, and wondered when the YF-19 would come in. This makes much more sense. This is completely scratch-built?
  22. That's what I meant, just used Weta as a sort of blanket. The visual design was excellent; the rest of it... not so much.
  23. Weta-level quality right there. Shame the rest of the filmmakers didn't put this amount of effort into the movie. EDIT: What's the little blemish on the bottom right corner of the first two pics? Just a scuff on the cloth? Stray piece of plastic film? (Also you tagged "Motoko Kusanagi" wrong.)
  24. This is roughly 1/48 scale (Metal Build doesn't bother with scale, rather focusing on keeping the figures around the same height, ~18-20cm). The 1/60 Laevatein kit by Kotobukiya is 15.5cm tall.
  25. They don't have as consistent a history with the license as Hasegawa, that's for sure... They did the Destroids, and I think some 1/100 VFs, but this is the first (and only, so far) I've seen them make in 1/72. No word on any future releases. Probably they'll see how this release sells first.
