Like when they built that huge mock-up of the Titanic for the movie? There is concrete, but where the ship curves, there appears to be wood planks being used as a floor. A little off topic, but what do they usually do with such huge movie props like the one used in Titanic? Are they usually destroyed after the movies done? I've always wondered what happed to the Millenium Falcon and all those X-wings and Y-wings. Anyway, back to the topic, guess no one here's translated the Japanese yet. if you saw most of that stuff in person you'd be unimpressed i'm sure. most movie sets are extreemly temporary and are typically poorly build and only meant to last for a few days of shooting. even if they wern't dismantled they'd most definately just fallen apart by now.

It's all about the games. Brand loyalty is pointless. Hardware is over rated completely. Which ever system ends up having the best games is the one i'll give my attention to. I havn't seen any of the NextGen console games yet so deciding now would be shooting myself in the foot. (ps i voted for agent1, as a perfectly straight male, i can say with out flinching: God damn A1 is a sexy man.)

I think the intention in the original drawings and concept was indeed to have the pilots legs extend into the mech legs. from the design and look of it, it seems obvious ( i like the explination that the high knees on the Rau are so that the joints will match with the pilot) but those were happier simpler times of morphing 2d animation where anything will fit anywhere. now with the action figure out, and showing that the "legs in legs" design doesn't work with the proportions given, i think the cannon is shifting to having the legs in the backpack. remember that if something doesn't work. it will be changed. macross cannon isn't as set in stone as some might think. personally i like the "legs in legs" design. i think it's slick. but i bet its not feezable.

a good thing to remember about lucas in general. some of his space battle scenes are copied shot for shot from old ww2 airplane footage. its not even mimicry or tribute, its strait copying.

personally, lotr isn't REALLY that good. its an endless stream of slow motion and medium frontal shots of the characters talking to the camera. Tolkein is carrying those movies with his epic story. ( and gandalf is done well) meet the feebles is jacksons best work.

nope sorry, don't like it. it will lose everything in this translation. the show is only superficially about the girls anyway, it really is all about parodys and jokes. and these weapons look stupid. the girls are supposed to be super strong and shoot lazerbeams. that clip, other than having the girls and their appropriate colors doesn't understand the show at all. there are lots of shows in japan that just don't work when translated, or even subbed (shows with lots of play on word jokes). i think this is one that won't work in japan.

if anything, lucas utterly indulged the lightsaber wetdream ness with fights become woo movies, dual light sabers , flying super ninja yoda, and campy crap. honestly i think fan boys got everything they thought they wanted, and they saw how lame it was.

Nope, that was Ron Howard. Lucas was the executive producer and is credited with the story (but not the screenplay). replace "ring" with "baby" then replace "destroy" with "wander around with" then replace "lord of the rings" with "willow" :-D personally i don't think lucas has provided much to movies. Star Wars was brilliant, the rest of the franchise is muddled and ok. I don't care what you say, Star Wars stands alone better than the Trillogy stands togeather. I won't talk about the new episodes. The Indy films seem like better if less deep movies individually, and they dont' really try to tell one story togeather. where lucas has "revolutionized" is more in movie making than anything else.

this thread is only 2 pages long, and this post i made is almost 2 years old slowest thread EVER! so what condition is her body in..

I'm not much of a model builder, but i'm pretty good with my hands, and i'm able to cut things out, and glue them togeather well. what i can't do is paint. i've been getting the itch to make a model of something, and i was thinking, what would you guys think of a model of something like a valk that was painted a flat medium gray with some trim in black and white. I'd do things like pannel lines and trim, but for the most part the model would just be grey (it would look something like the prototype action figures you see in the toys section occasionally) whatcha think?

I've got an old decrepit SDF-1 that's been collecting dust for the last 15 years and you've really inspired me to resurrect it and do what you did. I'm not going to be very creative about it, I'm just going to copy as best as I can what you did. It's such an awesome idea I can't beleive no one else did it before. Well this idea isn't mine . I copied it from Hobby Japan Issue 10 1999. There was someone joining the Jaf-Con with a Macross city . do you have that pic still?

oh c'mon, even people who don't like star trek like the original supporting characters. i mean its spock. SPOCK. and scotty. and "bones" hehe they're so cool aside from data i can't even think of a single character from a new star trek show.
